Thanks for the video. I've only ever used rubber mats on a dual cab ute. The OEM carpet mats are actually quite nice and bit more classy for a car like the Seal.
I scrolled past an IG ad for these unique floor Mats with a hexagon structure. Each hexagon was cup-like which would be good for trapping liquids. Thought it was a great idea.
I saw that one too and thought it would be good for trapping liquids, like they advertise. But then I also released it would be a real pain to clean out trapped dirt.
@@CThienVThe boot liner with the honeycomb that I saw are from Rubbertree. I ended up buying one from x-car, though. It looks quite neat and has a well positioned crease for the underfloor lid.
Tom, the timing of these reviews are very handy. After the part 1 video I had a look at the website and was wondering if you would be reviewing a few more things. Those flood mats look like they fit really well.
Great channel and super informative!! Just ordered our Seal Performance for April/May delivery. Love all the extras you’ve added to yours, they look great. One question, how soft are the floor protectors you ordered from TopBYD? Are they as soft as the carpeted ones and/or could you place the carpet/rubber floor mats on top of the protector you have? And is the boot liner grippy, so items don’t go sliding around, which I’m going to assume will happen often with the 390kw. Any help on these two questions is extremely appreciated! Cheers J
Congrats on your order! Admittedly the floor mats shown in this video from TopBYD are intended to be all weather so they are on the hard side. The ones I got from BYD are softer and carpeted. The trunk mats are not grippy but it does protect the under floor
I think they're not in quite the same category for an objective comparison given the difference in size and purpose however I have done a Seal vs Model 3 Highland video to at least give you an idea of the difference in experience between the BYD and Tesla ecosystems: th-cam.com/video/YAaKVAST3w4/w-d-xo.html
@@LudicrousFeed thanks. I'm going to test drive the premium this Saturday. My biggest concern is about the handling, coming from a BMW series 3 driver. We'll see. Excellent content by the way.
Sure. I'm waiting for Koba (one of our channel sponsors) to release their EV specific insurance product which I'll then use to compare with the rest of the market, so stay tuned!
Hi Tom, how long does it take to ship to NSW? I’ll be traveling to WA in couple months and planning to get a couple accs. Looks like it doesn’t ship to my country(Indonesia), even if it is there will be import tax so yeah.
The first set from Top BYD took longer than expected but that’s because there was an issue with Australia Post. However the second set got to me in 2 weeks
I purchased the heavy duty mats from TopBYD for my yet to arrive seal, i would say they look a bit nicer (my preference) and quality is probably a little, higher, although yours seem to have a higher lip in the backseat area which is a plus. I purchased the screen protectors not knowing there is "matt finish", was this from TopBYD aswell? Are the shiny screen protectors really that bad? Thanks!

Thanks Tom, for the introduction to TopBYD. Quite a nice range of useful accessories, I must say
Pleasure 🥂

I also agree but nice to have both options

Those flood mats look like they fit really well.
Yeah I was pleasantly surprised at how well they fit 🥂
- Stay tuned, I may have a few more products to review …!
The quilted floormats on ebay look baller.
Good to have more options for the Seal

Would love a video comparing the Model Y and Seal, im looking at buying either. Im leaning towards the Seal but my Partner wants the Y 😂

The Seal U might be more inline with the Model Y. I assume it is coming to Australia but it doesn't appear to be here yet.
The feet area under the front seats is already quite small. How's the feeling after installing the rear floor mats?
Feels the same. The thickness of the floor mats is negligible
@@LudicrousFeed thanks. I'm going to test drive the premium this Saturday. My biggest concern is about the handling, coming from a BMW series 3 driver. We'll see. Excellent content by the way.
Test drive it on both Normal and Performance modes. There’s an appreciable difference in the handling and acceleration between the two imo
@@LudicrousFeedI went to drive it and loved it. Please, test the spoilers (in carbon fibre ideally...) now 😉
Thanks for the video. Can you please make a video about insurance for BYD seal or just EVs in general?

Anyone know if a golf bag can fit in the boot from left to right?
I can test during my 12m review
@LudicrousFeed that's too far away! I'm enticied by the $3k discount offer thats currently running
Ah crap. From another video, the left to right width is 100cm.
My STD golf bag with clubs is 125cm. The bag itself is 90cm !!
Tip If you cover up the camera under the driver's side mirror things seem to work a lot better without all the false alarms..
Interesting … what are you using to cover it? Duct tape?
