BIG BASS! Malc Steals the Show!

- After my arduous session on Chesil last week I decided to hit Milford for a more relaxing session on the bass. The bites were slow, but Malc smashed it out the park with a stunning 7lb 10oz fish.

No one blanked !! Best off all he played the fish on light tackle in incredible conditions 👏 . The way we all dream catching a big bass ! The same fish over the other side with 13ft beachcaster, 80lb leader and 8oz weight to hold the deck !! Would have been lift and winch . It must have been a dream come true 👍.
It was fantastic to see. He was grinning ear to ear for ages after.

Great video Tom cracking bass like you say great fishing without carrying loads of gear with you.i fished the other side of the bank Friday evening 5 species landed including 2.1/4 pound bass . Look forward to next video tight lines

Great video Tom & what a cracking bass. Those small bass are like piranhas & I have trouble keeping my bait on long enough for the bigger ones.
Yeah they're a nuisance. But good to see the stocks are healthy I guess.

Cracking video mate , what is your rod reel setup 🤔 tight lines mate 🎣🐟🎣
Thanks Ian. My rod was a Veret Eclisseo 425 and the reel a Shimano Bull's Eye. Bit ott for this style of fishing! Lol
Any light 2 to 4oz style "conti" rod, or even a flattie rod or barbel rod will do. Anything that's light in the tip and can lob a 2 or 3oz lead.
What a good fish. Just didn't want to come in did it.. 11 out of 10 on lounging score...

I fished the very same mark yesterday morning and not even a touch. I’ll be back again soon.
Yeah it's not alive with them at the moment. Normally a good mark for a quick bite or two.

Yes, it's a popular venue for lures. Because of the shallow nature and the weed I tend to fish surface lures. Walking right the way around to the entrance of the river (a long walk!) can be very worthwhile with the lures.
Have you ever fished that area with Lures?
Yes, I've had a few bass on surface lures there. The better lure fishing is right up the end past the castle. Long walk!
