    I talked my blind boss into getting a pair of these, and they have changed his life already. Reading menus on his own is what it feels like to him. He can ask them how much money am I holding, what does this switch on my boat say, and tons more. Way more fun and useful for blind…. Still can’t show a be my eyes person what I’m seeing with them though… setting them up has been fun, and the sound is awesome. Looking forward to seeing future improvements.

      Not to sound like a troll but, sadly you are correct. The exemption though is for a person like me who did find the info about the battery to be useful and this idea of the glasses spying on you to also be useful. It should only listen when Hey Meta is said. It shouldn't listen when I am having a conversation about who knows what?

    • @christopherturcios559

      @@BrotherTimothyClark its not necessarily listening in on your conversation, she mentioned she said "hey meta" which activated the ai to listen and then when she got her response, the ai stayed for a couple seconds thinking she was giving a follow up prompt, its a very nice feature but can be turned off in the settings. I also wouldn't feel comfortable knowing its listening in on all my conversations.

      They just arrived yesterday. I love the audio and hands-free conversations sharing my camera talking about how to fix my plumbing - I can also see a good use case for them in a few weeks, I'm going to ask a couple if they would want me to live stream their vows for a wedding I'm presiding over for those who can't attend. And so a question - do you know if there is a limit on the amount of time you can live stream - I know its max 3 minutes for recording, but for live steaming? I also found that it has to be over a minute to be able to post, but is there a maximum length? Thanks! Love the content!

    Your good friend Jasmine convinced me to get the Ray Ban transition sunglasses awhile back. The camera, video, and AI are fantastic; however, I spent good money on prescription and transitioning. I live in Florida where the sun is bright and I need good sunglasses to protect my eyes. The transitioning is subpar and I actually sent my pair back for another pair; the second pair also had poor transitioning, and only tint. If u want AI and pictures, RayBans are good; but as sunglasses they better improve or I’m waiting for something else

I took photos and videos and sent them to a few friends, sent and received text messages, made a phone call and streamed some music while walking around and never touched my phone once. It stayed in my pocket the entire time....Once Google or Apple starts to perfect glasses and we get heads up displays where you can watch TH-cam videos, browse the web, watch Netflix etc...in your glasses, its game over. Well, If I were to get these glasses, it would only be for doing recordings of short videos. Until Meta provides Landscape recorded videos, these glasses are not for me. I hate Portrait squashed videos. I have other camera glasses much cheaper that do what I need and in Landscape view videos.
    The other thing is the price of these glasses at 300 dollars, way to expensive for me. Most the other features of the glasses are really a don't care - not that important for my daily use.
    Thanks for the video.

      Huh? Regular Wayfarer Classics run $230. The Meta version with all the tech loaded into them for only $100 more is a great deal and they are an absolute steal on Black Friday deals for $263. You think thats expensive? Wait until the Apple smart glasses come out for $500. They will be considerably better and worth every penny, just like the Meta Ray-Bans are for $300.

    I bought the clear ones. But also, the AI seems really bad. If I ask what the capital of Texas is, or any state, it says "I can't help with that, I can do things like volume control blah blah" So far I'm only using them as music players which is a great use case for me. But I want a lot more. I'm going to explore if I can use it to talk to Google Gemini which seems like a ton better.

I got the first and second models and I have convinced at least 6 people to buy them the second I showd them what it could do. This comment she makes is every reason you should never come here to get a technical review of the glasses, especially the Meta side.
    The version of Meta they have added to these glasses are extremely stripped down, it's not real Meta and it's certainly not ChatGPT, this is a glorified Alexa. And a massive shame at that.
    Ill wait for someone to jailbreak and allow ChatGPT-4o to take over. It would be insane and would also fix the personlised voice recognition

    I think these glasses are dead on arrival. When Google glass came out a ton of people complained to users about being filmed. People are going to feel nervous when they see those cameras on the glasses. Additionally you're not going to want to pay the huge price for these devices just so you can say "what am I looking at". Most people know what they're looking at. Even though there may be some cases where you can find a use for it those occasions will be few and far in between. And its always listening to you, not a good feature.

    • @zackmartin00
      @zackmartin00 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      They've sold a ton already. It is just the clear colorway that's a new release. For sure not DOA. Eyeglasses, buds, and newer hardware categories like pendants or wristbands will be pretty ubiquitous in time due to the dependency we will build on AI.

There's a cool factor which causes people to rush in and buy them but there's a limit to buyers with luxury cash to waste on cool looking stuff. AI comes into the category of cool stuff too, but I'm yet to find a use for it. Especially since AI often gives the wrong answer. The belief that AI will get better is actually false. There's an upper limit to performance, and that limit is critical on the size of the training database, which is already stretched to the limit. AI makes a poor replacement for the human brain, which is far more powerful. Unless people forget how to think, which is a real danger I expect.
