You could send all the text lines you need to different people who then record themselves speaking those lines. So you can use different voices, not just your own variations. You could even create scenarios with several people involved, including supposed competing scammers for example, if something like that isn't too complex. Maybe that's better suited for a soundboard.

have you considered framing this as a reinforcement learning problem? state = stage of script and last scammer comment/question; actions = set of voice recording responses you have; reward = time on the call

@@alessiobenvenuto5159 Harder to do. The scammer needs specific information, whereas this is mostly just to waste scammers time (getting the odd bank account to report on rare occasions). The scam AI would need to go through all the hoops of getting the persons name and other info, getting them to download their computer access thing, getting their bank info, editing the amount shown with inspect element, then walking the victim through buying gift cards. It is of course possible for this to be done, but I doubt it could be pulled off successfully to any extent where it would be viable, especially cause it would be expensive and time consuming to create.
I think the furthest that this would go would be have an AI go through until the computer connection is established, then having a real scammer take over for the complicated stuff.
I will say I'm certainly no expert in AI, so if anyone who knows what they are talking about wants to disagree feel free.

    Suggestion:
You have to give the bot some kind of ending a call when it notices it got stuck or when it reaches an unknown script/prompt. Something like “ehhh I’m sorry but I have a doctors appointment in 10 minutes, I have to go, will call you later” so that way the scammers will not notice that it is a bot and the conversation keeps being natural until the bot hangs up. Instead of repeating lines and raising suspicion in the scammer

  • @RetroMaticGamer
    @RetroMaticGamer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +760

The AI might only be able to waste 20 minutes of a scammer's time (instead of several hours like Kit can) but the bot can be copied and run hundreds of times with little human input, so its attrition rate is limitless, so "I see this as an absolute win!"

"Several studies have been done on the psychological effects of random rewards on monkeys. For
example, if you teach a monkey to do a task and consistently reward it every time the task is done, the
monkey quickly learns to associate a specific outcome with the efforts. If you stop rewarding it for
doing the task, within a very short period of time the monkey will simply stop doing the task. It won't
waste its energy doing something that it has now learned it won't be rewarded for. However, the
monkey's response to being cut off from the reward is very different if you start out on a purely random
schedule, instead of a consistent one. When you stop offering the reward, there's no way the monkey
can know that it will never be rewarded again for doing that task. Every time it was rewarded in the
past, the reward came as a surprise. As a result, from the monkey's perspective, there's no reason to quit
doing the task. The monkey keeps on doing the task, even without being rewarded for doing it. Some
      will continue indefinitely."

Another one outed themselves as racist against Indians after I brought up a great Indian place in my town.
I told another one that I had $120,000 in credit card debt and they asked me which card had the significant amount. They hung up on me after I said, "Well when you are $120,000 in credit card debt, all of them are significant."
I had 1 scammer say some terrible things about my daughter that I don't have and then after I laughed with him we talked about Xbox 360 and he apologized for what he said and told me to have a good day.

It would be really funny if u added a random ramble story that the AI just keeps rambling on about for like 10min, completely ignoring the scammer. Ex: “oh my cat the other day did the cutest thing! They cuddled with me and purred and I got to pet their soft fur.” And at the end you just say “oh sorry for getting off topic, what did u want again?”

@@KitsuneShapeShifter Eh, it kind of did. AI as a concept has been around for ages with plenty of uses. He's talking about language models, which the world lost their minds over, and I'd say that this is pretty much one of the only 'useful' applications, since their purpose is to talk.
Even if you're including AI "art", the only use that's had is stealing from a bunch of artists to pay less money to real artists.
Maybe both will improve in the future, but for now, the comment has aged fine.

This is beautiful! It needs a lot of work, of course. But the scammer probably thinks he has a senile old man on the phone! All he has to do is get him to follow instructions! Dangling the cash "carrot" in front of the scammer gives him a lot of incentive to be patient with the old robo-codger! 🤖👴🏼

I'm pretty sure if this becomes a thing, more people can also offer their voices to an AI voice database. We could have hundreds of voices and characters to choose from so it's even harder to tell if it's an AI and who's human.
