- Green Bertha and Big Red at it again. Everyone has favorite rigs. Here's 2 of my favorite BIG stunters going head to head. Both running upgraded power and loaded with key hop ups. Special shout out to my bash buddies and my son Andrew for wonderful same day sessions. Big Red is back running her previous huge power Hobbystar 980kv 56112 34/39 setup. Thanks to M2C Racing and Fast Track Hobbies in Rocklin, CA.

So nice to finally get big red and mine together for a good old beat down bro! So many epic shots, many probably don't know this but there is a lot more bashing that goes on that doesn't make the videos. Cannot say this enough all these aftermarket parts get thoroughly put to the test. Hopefully some better weather in our near future so we can do it all over again 🤪. I'm having so much fun with my O8's exb bro can't thank you enough for helping me setup this beast!
So absolutely stoked you went with the O8s EXB John 😱🚀🚀. She's such a ridiculous Monster with the right tuning and setup 😍. The 980 56112 with 34/39 gearing and Max5 is about as good as it gets. So much raw power and speed for a rig this size 🙀. Can't wait for warmer weather and dry days again Brother. Thanks for motivating me to get Big Red all dialed in again. Hopefully you got him back up and running quick sucks about your servo on the X Maxx but that Traxxas for you, the only Traxxas truck I never have to work on is my sledge but all the others stay on the bench more than they do the dirt as always Rich awesome upload my friend.🚀💪🤩👍👊

Traxxas electronics are basically junk 😂. Like a ticking time bomb waiting to go. The trucks are light and fun, but plastic fantastic likes to crack 🙀. Gotta love all the screws too 😂. @@WildBoyRC I'd still say the Outcast 8s is my favorite 😍. It's probably the most durable and handles Killer. I do love my Kraton 8s EXB too. She's the most stable at speed and fly's like no other 👀. The O8s wins for pure raw fun factor though 🍻

I have the 8S Outcast and 8S Kraton. Plus have V3 , V4 , and V5 Kratons.

Was wondering why you not running 980kv Hobbystar anymore loving mine!
Great question Joshua. The 980 with 34/39 gearing is ridiculous 😱. My 980 was damaged awhile back during my "Death Rock" misadventure 👀. The endbell finally let go completely, but the 980 was backordered for months 😝. Did finally grab a new one, but just kept running the Leo 1100 trying to give it a fair shake. I swapped my new 980 back in the day after this bash 🚀🚀. It's honestly the best set-up I've ever ran and will be staying in permanently 😍🍻😎💪👊👊

Thanks so much William 🤗. That was Dave's XRT that busted the shock rod end. His top brace and center driveshaft got completely toasted too 😂. Not sure about the front bulkhead, but my guess is he'll find more damages on the bench. The M2C bell crank survived the ultimate test 😱
Hey Rich, I’m finally gonna be having my OutKast 8s BLX built soon. So if I run aftermarket lipos The connectors would need to be changed out I’m guessing ESP if I just get the Spektrum lipos so the truck can be tried out and also on the Spektrum esc change the connectors or do you swap that to? What about the aftermarket motor and gears? I guess I’m asking what needs replacing if I want the truck to perform way better than stock. I have the M2C beefcake kit for it and just about all the other upgrades available. I believe I ordered the M2C motor mount to run a high kv motor at the time when I was thinking of putting a 1100 kv in it. I have Rpm suspension arms for it but M2C doesn’t recommend them. They said they’re too weak. They also mentioned about Droop screw provisions and fuel tubes for shock travel? No clue what they are. Any idea then what to use? I have pillow balls and the scorched Rc turn buckles and billet steering ends too. Titanium axles. Not sure if you need to upgrade the center axles too? Thx
Hello love the videos. What size are the bullets on the leopard 5898 1100kv? Also how long did you have to extend the wires to reach the motor? I’m getting one and where I’m getting it from I need to know how long to tell him to extend the wires and the size of the bullets
Thanks so much Israel 🤗. I think my Leo 5898 1100 came with 6.5mm bullets 🤔. I had to make 4" extensions to reach my Max5. It's a strong motor, but not nearly as smooth as my Hobbywing or Hobbystar setups. The best combo I ever ran was my Hobbystar 56112 980kv with 34/39 gearing 🚀🚀. Absolute rocket. That's what I'm back running in the O8s again 👍
Great video and appreciate the testing you do. I was wondering what connector size do you use for the 8s trucks. EC5s or 8?
Thanks so much Brother 😜!!! The testing process can be lengthy, but it's the best way to assure parts will handle real world abuse 👊. I'm running all EC5's. Haven't had any problems aside from the challenge of soldering with larger wires 😂. Obviously they make bigger ones, but the EC5's do the job. 🍻
Those m2c hex. Will they fit a 1/10 kraton v2 4s. And do u know if m2c makes any hex adapters for a kraton v2 4s??
Another awesome bash! It’s funny I just finished up my Outcast 8s build today. Now my Xmaxx has a buddy. Put a TP 5670 in the Outcast.

I race motocross and have taken my Kraton 1/8 scale 8s Kraton EXB to Glen Helen but I could never land the big booters. Would be cool to have you jump your RCs right next to me on My dirtbike and catch it on my Helmet cam. If you're ever in Socal you should hit up Temecula Hills and hit the freestyle ramps.

Before I bash it was gonna upgrade servo and SS. Was thinking about Power HD 80kg with Hot Racing Servo Saver. Is that good choice?
The Power HD is solid. My buddies haven't had been happy with the 8s ARRMA servo saver. My XMaxx one has worked solid. Just have to grease the saver during assembly. 🍻

Rich what are you using as a spring on the Xmaxx? And the oil you say 35wt but how is it possible to reduce the return with such a fluid oil? It comes from the design of the M2C pistons ? I would like to understand my brother 👍

Pretty sure I'm running 35w oil, but might have to double check a previous video 😂. Need to start keeping a log with so many rigs 👀. Running VG Racing springs on the XMaxx with M2C pistons. They have a unique O ring design with bottom vents that put pressure on the ring during rebound to increase dampening 👌. Not sure on the white piece you speak of near the servo saver 🤔. The XRT bell crank is white however. Appreciate the kind words Brother!!! 🍻😎💪👊👊

Rich, would LOVE for you to measure the gaps sometimes with a tape measure before or after the run. I don't think people realize just how far you're jumping.
Curious how big of a gap was it to hit the wooden ramp to the tranny on the dirt landing?
I'll definitely take a measurement next time I'm there Michael 🤗. Been curious about it myself. It's very difficult to make that gap with any significant head wind and pretty sketchy with heavy side winds. 🍻

I run Vitavon parts too. Just upgraded my 8s bulkheads, perfect fit 👌. I'm gonna try their XRT front top brace next. 🍻

Hey rich my 1717 in my sledge is tuning 173 temp what’s the fix to keep motor temps down?
Assuming your mesh and bearings are in good shape, I would try gearing down (unless you're geared too low and are running constant high RPM's 🤔). Try to gear around 150-160F tops. A bad solder joint or connection could be the culprit, but try adjusting the gearing first. 🍻

I'm converting my xmaxx to xrt if I get the m2c steering parts do know if the rest the xmaxx steering parts will work
Most of the XRT parts are different, including the steering assembly and saver. They do share the same servo horn and drag link, but the bell crank, saver, and upper bulkhead cover are different. Really only the hubs and gears are universal plus the gear covers and bottom tie plates. Just about everything else is model specific. 🍻

Probably about 60mph with belted tires. I haven't clocked her, but that's my best guess. 🍻
