Very nice, I do Airfix models, I used to have a shop straight up the road from me, but it disappeared last year! I get a lot of my figurines from BMC in the states. I remember doing Airfix models as a teenager, hours of fun and the final result is something to be proud of!

@@workbenchhobbies4316 Yes, I enjoy it a lot. I have some parachute men that I got when I was a teen. I have put hole reinforcers on the holes where the thread attaches to the parachute. I sometime add things to my figurines to make them more sturdy. I have soldiers from armies all over the world and different eras too. You know at midnight Greenwich mean time on a Thursday my toy life does a live video! I went on it last night. I also like retro consoles and games, I used to have a computer from 1993 with all the classics on it. My dad threw it away in 2001 when I was 12!!!! I collect flags and currencies too.

Very nice littel T-34! The "bedspring" type armour and white stripes have definetly become symbolic for the last Soviet campaigns in the European part of WW2 and are thus always something to have in the collection as an armor modeller. I can really second your point that even these little kits often turn into quite intricate projects... Speaking of intricacy, pushing the contrast with modulation and even brushpainted highlights early on really enables a 72nd model to have a "defined" and "intricate" look even at a normal viewing distance making all the efforts put into building details really worth it!

Great video, and great job on the t34! I love your slow placed focus on the painting parts in your videos, I am learning so much thanks to you!
About the "realism of the technique" I waned to share a tought
I think the problem with scale modeling is that ultimately we have to remember that it is art. We try to make artistic models, we cannot just scale down what we see in real life, because it would be plain and boring to the eye, in my opinion. The "exagerrated weathering", panel lines, fake shadows the shading and the chipping are all things that make the model look better, and done properly it makes even the model look bigger.
At the end of the day it's YOUR model and you choose how you want it to be :)
    Happy modelling!

Outstanding results Clayton. I'd have to rent time on the Hubble space telescope just to be able to get enough magnification for my old eyes to see 1/72nd. I recall first seeing a t34 with bed spring armour in an issue of FineScale Modeller back in 95 I think it was, I've still got the magazine somewhere. I was always fascinated by the build approach the guy (can't recall his name) had taken. Strip styrene and tuelle. Was an amazing result.

I had to laugh when you said you planned to "slow down and read the instructions.". . . . When I was a kid in the late 60's early 70's I rarely bothered with the instructions. . .I was just in a hurry to build it and paint it. In the end I would end up with a bunch of parts that I had no idea where they went. Not at 65 years old I HAVE slowed down and DO read the instructions. . . todays kits require it as they arfe much more sophisticated than the Revell, Airfix, Monogram kits I made back in the day. Anyway. . .another great video. I look forward for more from you!!!

Heres some trivia. 78% of all T34s and their varients were knocked out or destroyed during the war. The USSR averaged 24,000 tanks and armored vehicles( SU76, JSU152,ect) every year of the war but 25,000 in 1945 alone. Crazy numbers.

Wow, hard to believe this is 1/72 Clayton. Superb job and video. I like how you still explain your technique and process in each video without assuming we have seen any of your earlier build's. It helps reinforce your techniques in my grey matter 🙃
I'm aware of the various debates all over the interwebs regarding 'how' you should do things with your models to make them look right. Coming back to the hobby I watched them so I could learn how to do it the 'right way'. Now I watch them for the techniques and the ideas. If I like them I will try them, if not I will either adapt it or file it away - these are our models, for our enjoyment after all. If others choose to like them, all the better!!
Now, a couple of questions if I may😉:
What was the putty you used in filling the holes left behind by the tanks you removed?
When you sprayed the ATOM, did you use a booth? & finally,
Did you seal in the final pigment round?

Looking lovely!. Hopefully dragon will upgrade more kits with new tracks. I can´t stand this one piece vinyl tracks.
