- In today's video, I picked out my most used Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils and made a 36-color swatch chart for you guys! I also explain a little bit about WHY I use these specific colors so much. Hopefully this is fun and for some of you, helpful!

Thanks for sharing your favorite pencils. I was recently placing an order and had to go through my pencils to see which ones were getting low and to my surprise it was just a few...and I have a lot lol. It's funny how we gravitate to certain colors or shades :)

I just found this video and it’s great to see your choices. I did a similar exercise a while ago choosing my favourite 24 pencils (I have a 24 box so I thought I might take them on holiday like this). I also started with the shortest ones and then selected the ones I couldn’t substitute with others, while going for a balanced selection. It would be interesting to go repeat the exercise to see if my choices have changed.
That’s a smart idea to use this exercise to choose which ones you’d take on a trip! You should definitely repeat it now and see if you’re still using most of the same pencils! I want to do this exercise with my luminance pencils eventually too just because it was so much fun😄

Landscapes with foliage and sunsets, especially in autumn, can use a lot of yellows and oranges. Or pretty much any Halloween-related art. You could draw and color a cornucopia or maybe fashion portraits with clothing in some of your less used pencils.
Ooh should I try some landscapes in pencil? I haven’t gone for that before. Usually I’d use paint. Pencils could be a bigger but well worth it project. Halloween is coming up too luckily !!

If you're still looking for ideas that use bright colours I highly recommend frogs, amphibians and turtle species

Ahh I am away and wifi is being sketchy but I also use quite a lot of those colours, though I have a lot of brights that get used frequently also. Probably the most is scarlet red, lol. I found the discord channel too, yay!
Ahh yes I love that you get to using your brighter colors, I need to pick some more projects to use them so they don't just sit there!😂 and yayayyay!

Thanks, I bought a 36 set but I feel like many colors are missing -.-, I noticed it first when I was gonna make skincolor and I was like.. hmm. How the heck am I suppose to do this without any flesh-type of color. Same with forests without forest-green and vibrant red colors like the lake and dark red, they just include some knd of brownish red colors. it feels a bit like they do it deliberately so you have to buy extra colors, or maybe they really think they pick those people will use the most but I dbout it..... I will buy some of these... :) Looks good.
Hahaha exactly. I don’t like the curated sets as much. I started with a 24 set actually and I was missing sooo many colors. Especially neutrals. After that I just bought them open stock. The range is really great but the actual smaller sets don’t include the best range tbh!!

Right!! So weird to see me using more warm. But I think with my prismacolor set I used more cold!? So strange
