The worst part is that Nintendo brought this upon themselves. Sales dropped off 2-3 months after launch because they weren't immediately adding anything new or doing anything interesting the way they were with Splatoon 2. Fun Fact: Nintendo Switch Sports did 4x better in sales than Splatoon 3 did in Q1 2024. (NSS: 650k copies. Splatoon 3: 250k copies) If Nintendo Switch sports is outselling Splatoon 3 by a lot, what makes you think Nintendo is doing a content expansion for Splatoon 3? 💀
@@PenguinXD4splatoon 3 is the best in the series and the trailer is getting a lot of positive feedback. "No it isn't the game is wasted potential and you know it" I spit out facts and did a quote comment back at you you shut your face
I have a feeling if we somehow do get third kits, they'll probably just dump them in all at once during the game's support end along with Tricolor in PBs, say "here ya go!" and leave it at that. There likely won't even be as many third kits as Splatoon 2 knowing Nintendo. We better get Big Run for Private Job too if we're gonna get Tricolor for PBs.
I think the seasonal model is really what screwed the game because there will be a small seasonal update (8 kits and 2 weapons) and that new content is supposed to last us for 3 months
@maplemiles3381 We ended up with less content in updates than Splatoon 2 in the long run. That game added new kits/weapons/stages constantly whenever they felt like it. Every weapon doesn't even have a 2nd kit yet, but at this point in Splatoon 2, a ton of them had 3rd kits. Splatoon 3 had way less Splatfests and only a handful of big runs. S2 had a fest pretty much every single month with a whole new Shifty Station each time a fest happened. Those maps had loads of fun gimmicks and unique designs that made every splatfest memorable. Splatoon 3's tricolor stages are just slight remixes of the pre-existing awful maps in a game mode that (while fun) is ridiculously unbalanced.
I'm guessing that Nintendo might be aiming to make Splatoon 4 a launch title. Chances are they've already started working on it, and that the majority of the Splatoon team has already been siphoned away from Splatoon 3 to work on Splatoon 4 instead. I'm also guessing that pretty much all of the remaining Splatoon 3 content has been implemented already, and it's just waiting for someone to press the big red 'ship' button.
@@ParasocialCatgirl Either hard at work on S4 or perhaps the next Animal Crossing? I thought it was mostly the same team within Nintendo that developed ACNH and S3.
@@emp.splashYes, that's very likely. I'd imagine they'll probably have a new Animal Crossing or Splatoon ready for the next console's 2nd year tbh. If it's AC, they might be able to get it out by launch, but I don't think Splatoon 4 would be ready in time for a launch year release window.
I would hardly say they "delivered what they promised" when all of these "seasons" have less than half the content we would get over the course of 3 months back in S2
They never promised us anything related to quality or quantity, just that updates of some kind would be happening for 2 years. They intentionally left it so vague that *technically* just one kit and one map per season would not make their previous statements a lie
@@guillermocervisalmeron2209 that's not an inherent part about putting a number in the name of a game though, it's a reasonable expectation but not a promise or a guarantee. The literal only guarantee is that people who get into the series in the future know the order in which the games released from the title alone
Splatoon 3's mediocre updates is my 9/11, I seriously did go through the 5 stages of grief over my high expectations for where this game was going. It's so painful, I feel like nintendo just massacred my whole family
I can relate tbh I really had to lower my expectations throughout this game. The kits especially, for me hurt so much (except for S Blast 91) every time I wanted a weapon I liked to get something fun like a useful bomb or a booyah zooka (yes, even before any of its buffs) or kraken it'd get the same sprinkler, sensor, beakon, screen, splashdown or wail every single time regardless of synergy
In my opinion I don't think we're going to get a large content extension with maps and gear and banner items, but I think it could be possible that there could be one extra season where we just get third kits on some weapons. Not having third kits in splatoon THREE would seem like a massive missed opportunity, and it would without a doubt make splatoon 3 seem like an inferior game in comparison to splatoon 2 & 1 in terms of the update content. Third kits can't even be that hard for Nintendo to create, I just can't imagine a timeline where we don't get third kits at all. ALTERNATIVELY, Nintendo could feasibly give us some third kits next season along side second kits for the remaining weapons without them.
I'm pretty sure most people are under the impression that a content extension would be around an extra 3-6 months of updates, not a full year like you're claiming in this video. I think that's a lot more reasonable to want than an entire year of extra updates than what was promised.
All I want is to be able to get Salmon Run scales easier. Maybe just let me trade lesser scales for greater ones. I would play a lot more Salmon Run if that was the case. I'm totally burned out of PvP and want to play more Salmon Run, but it's not worth it when I play 6 games, somehow kill a boss with 3 randos, and get 10 bronze scales.
It’s actually kinda nuts how we aren’t getting 3rd kits, even if that’s all they would do I would be impressed. I now 100% wish they just waited for the next console. This is truly so sad
Personally I think your completely right with your Splatfest theory, like they never said a enddate for Splatfests, but also I think we do get third kits, but its just gonna be like sheldons picks again where its only a few weapons get them, like probably we just get 3 sets with 6-8 weapons per set that they just drop whenever they feel like
3rd kits are incredibly easy to make that modders are making them for fun. Reskinning weapons is really easy too, I used to make smash ultimate skins and they were so easy to make. I know that it's not a great reason, but it's such an easy content extension to do. New maps? Thats a lot of work. New kits? Easy
I dunno if a 3rd year of updates is in the cards, but there's absolutely going to be at least one more content update after sizzle season. The biggest reason is kits of course, we know a new stringer and splatana is coming and they're not going to add a second kit for those weapons in the same update as the base kit (so a second update is necessary). The other reason is that ending it on sizzle season wouldn't _really_ be 2 years of support? Like it will only have been 21 months, 7 content updates stretched between launch and the second anniversary. They can't just end the game before it's anniversary, so it only makes sense that we'd have at least one more update to add in the second stringer and splatana kit, the final fest and maybe some third kits at long last. My theory is that sizzle season is the last "fully involved" season, and that if they do keep updates going forward, they'll have much less going on. So we can still get extra kits and potentially map reworks, but we won't be getting the new maps, new catalogs, new gear or new music that's expected to come every season. Which, sidenote, it is kind of insane just how much music they've added since launch. Every update starting with sizzle season 2023 has added new battle tracks, and a lot of them even added splatfest music. I wonder if maybe the slower pace of the content we're used to is partially due to all this other stuff they've been adding that we're not used to getting
The season model has nothing to do with the amount of content we got, it’s clear that out of the gate the plan was to end with a game about the same size as Splatoon 2.
I don't think we're getting a content extension but I do think we'll get something for the 2 year anniversary in September, remember 3rd kits weren't added to Splatoon 1 & 2 until AFTER all the weapons got 2nd kits
Splatoon 3 feels like the most disappointing game because of how much potential it had. I still think it's objectively the best game but I'll always look back on Splatoon 2 most fondly because of how much better that game was supported and how much more longevity I feel it had. I have been playing Splatoon 3 on and off since around March 2022 after 6 months of playing non-stop because the seasonal content didn't feel like it freshened the game much. We have had some really cool new main weapons and stages too, but kits are really what let the game down. In Splatoon 2, we had all the Kensa weapons which had amazing kits, we had Grim Range Blaster, Soda Slosher, Sorella Brella, and so many more memorable kits that worked well with their main weapons. But in Splatoon 3 we have some kits that feel directionless like S-BLAST 92 with Sprinkler and Reefslider??? What kind of playstyle were they trying to encourage here? Some kits like Custom Jet Squelcher feel well-thought-out, encouraging players to play for area denial, but then you have others like previously mentioned that have no synergy. The fact we might not even be getting 3rd kits for any weapons is the most disappointing part. The only way I could be fine with that is if they were to implement some feature to let us make custom kits but that will literally never happen.
@@lol-ih1tl No? I never said that. What I said is that the kits in Splatoon 2 are generally better than the ones in Splatoon 3. I never said anything about the meta. Where have you got that notion from?
With the new trailer *finally* dropping, it feels like they’re preparing us for the end with Big Big Run and what looks like a final fest tease. Though, we do need the new Splatana and Stringer’s second kits… And maybe the second kits for the other datamined weapons. It kinda looks like there’s two more mini seasons left. Maybe 12 third kits? Yeahhhh…
My first game in the series and the only word to describe this community is delusional. Just tore the bandage off. If we get it we get it. END OF STORY!
"For two years" technically means drizzile 2024 is in the running for having content in it, so my theory is the last map in sizzle along with 4 or so surprise third kits they announce right at the end of the twitter cycle and not in the trailer, and then a batch of third kits on drizzile 2024. Maybe another random surprise batch in chill 2024 like with the surprise sheldon's picks in 2 but that's the absolute limit.
Sizzle season trailer is out - no confirmation one way or the other of it being the last season, nor is there any confirmation one way or the other that this is the last stage we get. They also added two brand new weapons, a Splatana and a Stringer. Pretty late to add new weapons into the life of the game. Here's my current theory: Side Order and the Splatoon 2 content update got delayed, and the devs realized they didn't have planned content out late enough to give players time to really enjoy the new DLC in the context of updates beyond its release, so they stretched the content they planned into smaller updates but with more over time. It's probably why we got one new stage for the current and next season, why the new weapon kits have been dropping in number season by season, and why the game feels kinda stale. Nintendo said themselves, gamedev is going to take longer and longer as the industry gets bigger and technology gets better - they just didn't know how to budget their effort for this latest game due to needing more time to make more stuff. Basically, my theory is that if we get a content extension, it's not going to be for a few seasons. Right now we're in a content stretching - thinner updates, but it was the stuff that was planned for the two initial years.
Also 52 tips. Dont jump and shoot. If u do run 3 subs of intensify. Your first 2 shots are 100% accurate though but only when grounded. You can use your gun the entire time ur using wail, it combos with the main weapon super well Practice wall throws. Dont jump when throwing wall, moving the camera up and down has very little impact on where the wall will go. Try to place them in areas as wide as the wall is, brine isn’t great for that tho. Also general tip, paint before you drop into enemy ink. It’ll give more room to work, unless ur trying to flank but going through mid is gonna be impossible to flank, everyone is gonna have eyes on you. I like how u took left after you died tho. You handed that really well. Just should have backed out as u saw the splatling kytng you (backing up as you move towards it) it also stuck you in a 3v1 which is never good.
I played the game when it came out until the end of 2022 and then on and off through 2023. I'd say it failed to hold my interest in comparison to Splatoon 2 which was my favorite game for almost 3 years straight, even though 3 was the more polished and mechanically interesting game. The update we got nearing the end of August really brought me back in for about a month though, looking back it was honestly the best season in my opinion. Either way these games will hold a special place to me. They are a colorful, fun reminder of the more carefree days before I got a job and had to focus super hard on school and stuff. Sad 3's coming to an end, excited to try the next one in the upcoming few years.
1. They're not rumours, Nintendo themselves confirmed that they will be announcing the next console by the end of this financial year (probably around spring 2025). 2. I'd say that 'Splatoon 4 as a launch title' is much more likely than 'Splatoon 3 content extension'. Chances are that they're already working on Splatoon 4 (and have been for some time), with Splatoon 3's content already being fully implemented and just waiting to be shipped.
Splatoon is also a massive driver of Nintendo switch online, being the only first party game I can think of where you need it to play the game. They are continuing to make money off splatoon even if not through direct sales. (Which, it sold VERY well considering it was a same console sequel.) it’s also disproportionately popular in Japan, which is home country, so there is definitely some bias there. Do I think we will get a full year of content updates? No, and I don’t think splatoon needs it, but I’m hoping for drizzle season and continued kits and splatfests after that.
Realistically, the devs started working on the next Animal Crossing for Switch 2 after the release of Side Order. Meaning that Splatoon 4 will probably come out in 4 years from now in 2028.
Splatoon 1: were done with updates Splatoon 1, a few months later: lol jk heres 3rd kits Splatoon 2: Content updates are over Splatoon 2, a few months later: ha, you fell for it again. heres, 3rd kits for weapons again. We most likely aren't getting anything huge after the end of year 2, but we probably will get 3rd kits for some weapons
There won't be a content extension. Why? Splatoon 4. So, we know that Nintendo plan to announce their new console during this financial year (at some point by the end of next Spring). And, of course, any new console needs games to encourage people to buy it. Now, lets consider the timeframe for Splatoon 3's end of updates - 6 months prior to the latest possible announcement date for the new console, which itself should be launching itself at some point between 2025-26; probably no sooner than the latter part of 2025 - or at least a year following the end of Splatoon 3's update cycle. With Side Order being done, and less new content this season (only one map), this indicates that development resources have probably been pulled from Splatoon 3, and presumably have already been diverted elsewhere. But where have they been diverted to? Probably Splatoon 4. --- Chances are that all of the remaining content for Splatoon 3 has been developed already, and is just waiting for someone to press the 'ship' button on all of it. It wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo has already sorted out the game design for Splatoon 4, with development work already underway on the new game. And it also wouldn't surprise me if Nintendo was aiming to release Splatoon 4 as a launch title for the new console - wanna participate in this live service and avoid the FOMO associated with live services? Want to play a Splatoon game with an actual playerbase? Pre-order our new console now! (And for a limited time only, why not get the Special Splatoon Edition™, which comes bundled with a copy of Splatoon 4 as well!) ----- *TL;DR* An extension to Splatoon 3 is 100% not gonna happen, so its not even worth considering 'what if'. Splatoon 4 as a launch title for the next console, however...
If this is the case then I'm mixed, on one hand, if it means splatoon 4 will be the game we were asking for then yeah I'm very pleased, but on the other hand, it's a shame we had to sacrifice the potential that splatoon 3 could've had in pursuit of another game that isn't even announced, and there's no guarantee that splatoon 4 will live up to the expectations from long time fans that splatoon 3 failed to meet.
so you’re literally just saying “splatoon doesn’t make money, lets throw are 3rd biggest franchise away for no reason!” I don’t think a content extension happening, but These reasons are reasons why Nintendo wants to kill the game. they dont.
THANK GOD someone finally addressed the cope in the room. this game is most definitely not getting a content extension. at best? splatfests get extended to december, for it to be the last one. anything else is 100% off the table it makes no sense. theres no date for a 9th + season either in the game, theres literally nothing after drizzle. if they DO do 3rd kits, its gonna be kensa/sheldon picks returning with 2 splatanas and 2 stringers getting a kit each and maybe 4 of the new weapons (being insanely generous at this point)
I think the reason for poor sales was the fact that the game was terrible on launch. I was extremely disappointed with the state of the game, mud mouths didn’t work, insane missile spam and machine hitbox, etc. The first season was also extremely poor, with bad kits and bad maps. I think this really killed all momentum the game had, alongside Splatoon 2 existing. All I want is third kits. I don’t care about anything else they add, especially since they seem unable to make any decent maps anymore (minus like 3). I have a hard time believing they wouldn’t at least add the Sheldon’s picks that have been in the games since Splatoon 1, if they don’t at least add some third kits then the game is a completely failure in my eyes, Splatoon 2 will end up with significantly more content

Hey I was in the video (squishybun) As much as I really hope there's going to be a third year of updates (especially since i got 3 a year late) I don't think there's much of a chance. Nintendo usually sticks to their word and even though they've been looser with Splatoon compared to other franchises I still have my doubts.
I think they already have abandoned it. Chances are all of the remaining content for S3 has been implemented already, and is just waiting for someone to press the big red 'ship update' button. The Splatoon 3 team has probably been reduced to a skeleton crew (mostly to make sure the remaining implemented content can be shipped without incidents, and to do the usual maintenance stuff needed to keep a live service running), with the main development focus now being Splatoon 4.
Unpopular opinion: This game’s the worst in the series. I don’t thinks it’s bad or anything, just disappointing when it comes to map design and weapon kits.
You have it backwards. Extensions are distinctly unplanned, if you plan an extension it’s not an extension lol. I think there’s at least one more season but judging from how little there was this season, it’s gonna be very light.
@@lancergv2331 i guess ur right. however i feel like they would have mentioned it if this was the final season, and made an effort to go out with a bang- because srsly, there was absolutely nothing new (which maybe in itself suggests they are gonna stop? i feel like atp the devs creative juices are dry and theres not much more to add)

Twitter is very stupid and very dumb. Season 8 will be the Final Season because we need Splatoon 4. I am tired of the rumors. Splatoon 3 is 9/10 for me, Splatoon 2 really sucks and unnostalgic. Plus “The Maps Are Fine” because they don’t understand anything. That’s all of 2 years of content. Splatoon 2 is not my favorite game personally. @@rizirone same but if they do 3rd kits I actually have a theory that they would make it be the 1 and 2 update cycle to gauge how it will do in terms of engagement
Let's be real. Splatoon 3 is basically a extension to Splatoon 2. Same kit system, same modes, same rank modes, same story mode (not an actual adventure story if you wanna call it that), literally one new sub (that sucks), one completely new special (lazy screen), two new weapon classes that barely have variants
Rizirone, let Nintendo and the Splatoon developers confirm this themselves. Nintendo doesn't need your help confirming anything 🙄 I get there's no more updates after 2 years, but again, LET NINTENDO SAY IT THEMSELVES, THEY DON'T NEED YOUR HELP
hmm, its almost like drip feeding old content made worse that shouldve been in the base game to begin with, leading to immense burnout and lack of true new stuff to do, would maybe cause the sales to dip. just a thought? maybe nintendo shouldve NOT had their heads up their asses but nintendo has literally never handled online platforms/communications/servers/services well since the inception of the internet. Their implemention has true to the word, literally always been terrible and lackluster.
My Take: Second Kits for the Remaining Weapons, New Splatana and Stringer, New Stage (Urchin Underpass/The Reef/Moray Towers/Original Stage), QoL Changes. And then one last Season with Second Kits for the the new Stringer and Splatana with either the announcement of Splatfest for Private Battles or One Extra Year of Splatfest.
As a former sploosh main, this hurts me an awful lot, the fact that we never get a good kit for Sploosh that has even an ounce of competitive viability, is a wound that will never heal. Neo Sploosh still pisses me off to this day for not having kraken and yet still somehow gets squid beakon for the third game in a row, Neo sploosh in splat 3 isn't even fun which is disgraceful for weapon that's all about being fun, and has only served to fuel my advocacy for custom kits. Splatoon 3 has the best quality of life changes but sadly also has the greatest amount of wasted potential. Don't let any random apologist try to convince you otherwise.
Given they are adding substantial stuff this late, they could end up pulling a Mario Kart 8, and re-release Splatoon 3 on the next system, with some extra content; especially if they plan on working on the next Animal Crossing in tandem since it would be a lot less extra work
I doubt they'd re-release Splatoon 3 on the new system. Re-releasing MK8 worked because people didn't bother buying the Wii U (thereby never having already played MK8, thereby having a good reason to buy it on the Switch). However, if people want to play Splatoon 3 - they have it on the Switch already. Their progression is all saved on the Switch. And, remembering how much of a grind progression in the Splatoon games are - nobody's gonna want to grind everything out once again in a re-release of Splatoon 3. Re-releasing Splatoon 3 wouldn't sell particularly well, and, most importantly - wouldn't provide an incentive for people to buy the new console. A hypothetical Splatoon 4, however - now that would actually make people give a toss, and people would actually have a reason to, y'know, shell out money for the new console and that new game. Who knows, maybe it'll even be a launch title! *TL;DR* The whole context behind MK8DX was completely different to the hypothetical 'Splatoon 3 port' situation you're proposing, so I highly doubt that'll actually happen.
@ParasocialCatgirl I meant it more like the content expansion would carry over into the new console, and it might get some enhancements from the new hardware Since Splatoon 3 has save data backup, I doubt that Splatoon 3 on the new console will make you start over; that would just be cruel for no reason 💀
Splatoon 3 with no 3rd kits, one more stage, one more season, and just ending things after this season is going to make Splatoon 3 the biggest flop in the series imo
I still don't get why would we need more content in the first place. I am probably too old to get it, but as someone who grew up on Quake and UT... If it's fun to play why would you need anything else to enjoy it? I don't understand the appeal of "live service", man.
You’re right, we already have a ton of content, and most of us will probably still play splatoon even if they stop updating the game right now. But just because we don’t need more content to enjoy the game, doesn’t mean we can’t hope for more of it. We just want splatoon to be even better than it already is.
Welp they just revealed the alt Wellspring Kit rip third kits lol Any datamined stuff is probably coming this season too. Wow. Can’t believe they’re just gonna wrap it all up like that.

Even if they do that i dont care, I just want more content for this game
I think the seasonal model is really what screwed the game because there will be a small seasonal update (8 kits and 2 weapons) and that new content is supposed to last us for 3 months
No it didn't it made it better for a matter of fact
The fact that the Switch is on its last year might also have something to do with it...

The game keeps getting positive feedback with each update

@@SneakTheOcto Ikr Multiplayer game of the year
In my opinion I don't think we're going to get a large content extension with maps and gear and banner items, but I think it could be possible that there could be one extra season where we just get third kits on some weapons.
Every shooter with a third kit lets goo
I'm pretty sure most people are under the impression that a content extension would be around an extra 3-6 months of updates, not a full year like you're claiming in this video. I think that's a lot more reasonable to want than an entire year of extra updates than what was promised.
Yeah. And even then it's mostly because we want a spooky and frostyfest with Off the Hook.
This game just doesn’t reward you enough for how much time you put in.
It’s actually kinda nuts how we aren’t getting 3rd kits, even if that’s all they would do I would be impressed. I now 100% wish they just waited for the next console. This is truly so sad
Chances are that they're already working on Splatoon 4 for the next console (and that it's already their primary focus)
Personally I think your completely right with your Splatfest theory, like they never said a enddate for Splatfests, but also I think we do get third kits, but its just gonna be like sheldons picks again where its only a few weapons get them, like probably we just get 3 sets with 6-8 weapons per set that they just drop whenever they feel like
There is not a single Nintendo title with planned DLC right now. The next console is almost ready.
3rd kits are incredibly easy to make that modders are making them for fun. Reskinning weapons is really easy too, I used to make smash ultimate skins and they were so easy to make.
I know that it's not a great reason, but it's such an easy content extension to do. New maps? Thats a lot of work. New kits? Easy
I got called a doomposter for saying that 3rd kits weren’t happening
I thought it was confirmed that the new bow and splatanas got second kits tho
If they didn't do a seasonal model we might've actually gotten a reasonable amount of content
The season model has nothing to do with the amount of content we got, it’s clear that out of the gate the plan was to end with a game about the same size as Splatoon 2.
solving problems in our movement shooter by making people move less and shoot less
I don't think we're getting a content extension but I do think we'll get something for the 2 year anniversary in September, remember 3rd kits weren't added to Splatoon 1 & 2 until AFTER all the weapons got 2nd kits
i think at the bare minimum sheldon’s picks are gonna be a thing, but yeah a content expansion does NOT seem feasible rn😭
No it wasn't

Personally i think we have another season or 2 to at least get a FEW 3rd kits but not that many another year feels unreasonable
They need to make at least 2 more seasons; we need a spooky and frostyfest version of Inkopolis Square.
They could just do those two fests instead of entire seasons. That's probably a lot more reasonable.

Honestly, that seems a little realistic, they drop the last map, and 2nd kits for every weapon in sizzle 2024 and sheldon's picks in drizzle 2024
I've been saying this for months now. Side order was just very dry, and it's going to stay that way.
It wasn't it boosted sales of the game
I honestly doubt it at this point but we’ll see in September.
Right now we're in a content stretching - thinner updates, but it was the stuff that was planned for the two initial years.
yeah after the sizzle season drop I feel like there's no way they'd just leave us hanging here
as much as I agree with you on basically all of this, I'm gonna throw a wrench in - we already know Bonerattle is the final salmon run stage.
@@squiddu True, but since when has Salmon Run been important to Nintendo?
It would be weird to end the "2 years of content" before the two year mark, theres obviously another season after this
It would be better if Splatoon devs made EXP food tickets work on catalog level, because player level ups are useless when all weapons are unlocked
4:38 you can paint threw the booyah Bomb btw
Also 52 tips. Dont jump and shoot. If u do run 3 subs of intensify. Your first 2 shots are 100% accurate though but only when grounded.
You can use your gun the entire time ur using wail, it combos with the main weapon super well
Practice wall throws.
Wow no splatoon content expansion! Who could’ve seen that coming?
Yeah, I agree maybe at the latest it could be one more update in December this year but that’s all
I played the game when it came out until the end of 2022 and then on and off through 2023.
If the rumors about switch 2 are real, I COULD see a content extension happening.
If splatoon 4 is to drop with the Switch 2, Then I can understand it but still disappointed 😔
Realistically, the devs started working on the next Animal Crossing for Switch 2 after the release of Side Order. Meaning that Splatoon 4 will probably come out in 4 years from now in 2028.
Guys this is a good thing because they are lowering our expectations so we don’t get as disappointed in splatoon 4
Splatoon 1: were done with updates
Splatoon 1, a few months later: lol jk heres 3rd kits
Splatoon 2: Content updates are over
Splatoon 2, a few months later: ha, you fell for it again. heres, 3rd kits for weapons again.
---
Chances are that all of the remaining content for Splatoon 3 has been developed already, and is just waiting for someone to press the 'ship' button on all of it.
(And for a limited time only, why not get the Special Splatoon Edition™, which comes bundled with a copy of Splatoon 4 as well!)

*TL;DR* An extension to Splatoon 3 is 100% not gonna happen, so its not even worth considering 'what if'.
I'm pretty sure that the next Animal Crossing will release in-between Side Order and Splatoon 4.

My hope is that splatoon 3 will be a launch title for the next console and they'll add third kits to drum up interest.
sucks that the series prolly did peak at 2 up until this point.

Given they are adding substantial stuff this late, they could end up pulling a Mario Kart 8, and re-release Splatoon 3 on the next system, with some extra content; especially if they plan on working on the next Animal Crossing in tandem since it would be a lot less extra work
Splatoon 3FES 😭😭😭😭😭😭
@ParasocialCatgirl I meant it more like the content expansion would carry over into the new console, and it might get some enhancements from the new hardware
Since Splatoon 3 has save data backup, I doubt that Splatoon 3 on the new console will make you start over; that would just be cruel for no reason 💀
That would be such an obnoxious money grab

I didn't even watch all this but it's good
Splatoon 3 with no 3rd kits, one more stage, one more season, and just ending things after this season is going to make Splatoon 3 the biggest flop in the series imo
@@maplemiles3381 ok which game is the worst then bud?

I still don't get why would we need more content in the first place.
I am probably too old to get it, but as someone who grew up on Quake and UT... If it's fun to play why would you need anything else to enjoy it?
I don't understand the appeal of "live service", man.
You’re right, we already have a ton of content, and most of us will probably still play splatoon even if they stop updating the game right now.
But just because we don’t need more content to enjoy the game, doesn’t mean we can’t hope for more of it. We just want splatoon to be even better than it already is.
Welp they just revealed the alt Wellspring Kit rip third kits lol
Any datamined stuff is probably coming this season too. Wow. Can’t believe they’re just gonna wrap it all up like that.
Splatoon 2 is just better than 3 in everything there are very small ways splatoon 3 is better but let's just be honest splatoon 3 is like a dlc for splatoon 2 it could never beat it don't get me wrong side order was good but octo expansion was the best dlc so far unfortunately I just don't see splatoon 3 getting better its actually has been getting worse seson by seson so I don't see why Nintendo would continue its life when it's on life support right now
Vast majority are going to tell you and rightfully so that splatoon 3 is the best in the series your just here to gloat to feel justified
@maplemiles3381 I'm sorry, but if you didn't want to hear splatoon 3 get shit on, then you should've clicked on this video
@@SuperV-fn7vrno I'm stating facts splatoon 3 is getting unwanted 💩 on as the game for a matter of fact is growing at a positive rate with each update and thay is a sad reply at defending yourself
@maplemiles3381 If you want to tell me that my reply is sad while you're misspelling, that's indeed sad. I'm truly am sorry that I have an opinion as well
@@SuperV-fn7vrwell from a pull from gamefaq splatoon 3 is the best in the series and same goes for most reddit posts. That states that splatoon 3 is the best in the series and a reason foamstars failed
I still think we have a chance for a content extension. For the recent sizzle season trailer they added 2 new weapons that need kits and we haven’t seen their second kits so they surely need second kits. My other reason is that the other 2 games have got third kits we shouldn’t 3 get them either. 3 hasn’t really removed any content from 2 either (squidbeatz is a weird exception)
Splatoon 3 is a masterclass in wasted potential
No it isn't
@@maplemiles3381 did you watch the video?

Hope this is the last update coming up. I still didn’t finish Pokemon Scarlet yet.
Is there really that much less content in S3? The mapcount is the same, theres actually more main weapons, the DLC was just as good as Octo Expansion imo. The only thing i can say js definitively lacking is kit variety.
And they hated Rizone for he spoke the truth.
I don't think we're getting a gear content extension but I could see one more season. Either way Splatoon 2 will always be better than 3, and Octo Expansion better than Side Order.
