Worm Fest 2024

WORMFEST 2024 was a huge success! With ten plus speakers, 180 people attending each day, and 130 for a regenerative dinner by the worm beds. The event's goal was to promote farming as a means of wellness for people, soil, and the planet. The event bought together like-minded companies, organisations, and farmers working together to promote this goal. Energy levels were high with David Hardwick from Soil Land Food and Nakala Maddock from NutriSoil setting the festival scene and keeping the crowd engaged during the two days. Joel Williams from Integrated Soils presented on Amino Acids, Secondary Metabolites, and their essential role working in tandem with nutrients and biology in growing healthy plants for healthy soil and food. Farmers including Matt Haggerty from Natural Intelligence Farming in WA, Grant Sims from Down Under Covers, Jake Wolki from Wolki Farms, and Tom Briggs showcased farming methods that BUILT soil health and produced food with fewer chemicals and tillage. Motivational speakers Heather Swan and Glen Singleman took the audience by surprise sharing key messages on how to develop resilience and continue to make steps towards your goal no matter the obstacles presented. Breakout sessions covering how to make bio stimulants, how to market your unique produce, how to build diversity, and how to transform yourself were held on the second day. A robust panel challenged participants in status quo and current practices to leave all attendees with motivation to think outside the box. There has never been a more powerful momentum toward sustainable farming from the economy and consumers than there has ever been. It was a JOY to all be in the shared space together creating wellness for all through farming.
