But greatness can be bestowed on all of the wonderful guitarists who have shown the highest levels of skill, making the guitar great. I admire Steve Vai, di Meola and others, my personal favourite being John McLaughlin who I met last year. Matteo has joined this elite group of pioneers, and just so thankful that as a musician of some 70 years of age I got so see and hear them all.
Yes...so catchy...such a good hook...you really can't beat it. I was sitting here during your intro, going through the song in my head, and hearing several versions, then listening to the man introducing him, I had to smile, while wondering if it was going to be SUNG in Italian. Then...yeah! Just seeing Matteo with the small orchestra behind him, was fun, then he started in with those AUTOMATED fingers!!! OH, MY WORD! Surely a human being couldn't be moving that fast and making such SWEET sounds!!! FANTASTICO!!! ( [he is] FANTASTIC ) His concentration is almost palpable! Interestingly, I've seen many others produce SIMILAR sounds, but they always look tensed up (and probably rightly so). However, Matteo looked relaxed, happy, and wonderfully happy, during the entire piece! Thank you, thank you, thank you, for this wonderful reaction. to this young man playing this super great take on a song that has ALWAYS held my heart in the first place. 😀

He Is and Will be for ever the best guitarrist in the story. Who knows the Harmony , theory of jazz can undestein what i said: each note he plays stay in a picture where everythink is correct... This guy is good in his field of guitar playing. But he is definitely not the best guitar player in the world. This title can only go to Marcin Patrzalek who is playing the most complete and complex guitar music on planet earth today.😊
Music is subjective. I respect your opinion, but you're completely off with this one. His tapping, percussive style is cool. But there are guys out there MILES ahead of Marcin. Matteo is another league. Have you never heard Tommy Emmanuel??? What about Mike Dawes? Maybe Andy McKee??. He's not on their level.
Marcin’s great, but in my opinion what he lacks is musical taste to some extent. He seems more interested in shredding than playing with legato and soul. That’s what I love about Matteo. Every note is beautiful. And he’s can f’ing shred. That’s what we used to call Italianate sensibility…bringing beauty and taste to everything. And did I say he can shred?
