He released his first album about a year ago. It's a beautiful mix of styles, not just riffing like in this video. He does some beautiful chordal progressions, he can do it all.
I have Matteo's CD 'The Journey' and it's really great stuff. Also hugely impressive is the album he did under a collaboration with three other Italian musicians called Drift-Lab, the album is called 'Moonlight' and it's available on Bandcamp.
Matteo is truly amazing. Keep in mind that he comes from Sicily, a place known for producing incredible musicians. Years ago, another artist with a similarly outstanding technique emerged from there: Claudio Quartarone. If you get the chance, immerse yourself in his music. Cheers!
Thanks for that! Matteo plays different styles of music, not just jazz. However, Al Di Meola, Steve Vai, John Bonamassa, Eric Johnson consider him the best guitarist out there today. There is a track on TH-cam where Steve Vai plays with him along with Jordan Rudess. He was invited by Rick Beato who called him the best guitarist in the world check out on youtube "Steve Vai talks about Matteo Mancuso"
He comes from classical guitar, but his right hand technique is taken from bass playing. If you check it carefully, he never uses the same right hand finger two consecutive times. Technique apart, he has a great musical sensibility.
Just 1 Question Jone,, is Matteo guitar going through all of the computers?? I know his the Tone is the way it has been since he arrived on the scene,,so I think I answered my own Question.... Never uses a pick can play 100% clean and He can play very fast and stay clean.. Matteo holds his Right hand in 2 positions

While Gary Moore is my favorite guitarist, Mateo can play circles around any guitarist I've ever seen.
He is very clean

It was clear what you were thinking while listening: I will never play like that, not even close. I should throw all my guitars away.
