    I’m so glad you showed your basement at the end. I sell at my antique booths and people don’t realize how you often sit on items and how much room these businesses take up in our homes. Not always easy. Thanks for giving folks a dose of reality and how much you work 👍

    Would love to see a video where you go over things like best brings in each category you specialize in. Ex: Revereware for pots and pans, X brand name for golf stuff, Y brand for toys etc. I’m slowly learning from watching but to have it all compiled into one video would be super informative

    On those collectibles like Barbies, they usually sell for $75 and up so you'd assume there is money there but the collector market is fickle. I came up on two tall carts of Dept 56 Christmas Village buildings, not more than $15 each, all new. I thought I had hit a Goodwill Goldmine. I loaded my cart then started looking them up. They were basically selling for about $20 each on eBay. I put them all back.

    @15:10 You missed the Living Air Purifier Breeze Ozone Ionizer on the table and under the table the Back2Life Continuous Motion Massager. When buying the ozone ionizers, plug them in and smell for the ionized air. If you do not smell that, it will need cleaning or glass plate replacements. Learn about them before you buy them.

    Rich areas are so hit or miss for me. Sometimes you'll find some good deals cause they're trying to get rid of stuff but sometimes the stuff is way over priced for reselling cause it's all really nice stuff and paying $20 for an item is cheap to a rich person

    This trend is likely to cool off in the future. Too many people doing it. The public buying junk like this from refi or sale of their house going to rent and keep the money. As the public buys cars, takes vacations, and lives above their means the money will start to run out and house values will stabilize. With higher interest rates most will no longer be able to refi out of their inflation and cash flow problems. There is already an uptick of mortgage defaults and foreclosures coming just like it did over a decade ago in the last downcycle. As money dries up for the public masses they will buy less dopamine fodder junk to use for a short term and will focus on gas, food, roof over head to survive. As the resell market saturates yields will come down. People will still likely pay a premium for hard to find vintage stuff. America public in general stays poor buying items at 1.00 and reselling for 10 cents later on. It's almost a guaranteed way to stay poor. Resellers with very deep pockets that can hold for cycles can buy vintage items for cheap and then have value go up much more over time. Lots of these resellers make way more off of their channels than the business model itself.

    • @propicker
      @propicker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Certainly, there are some rough economic indicators out there. However, the default rate isn't anywhere near 2007 and 2008 levels. Also, foreclosures really only make sense when a home owner is trapped and upside down. Most home owners could just sell right now if they couldn't make their payment and around half of them would walk away with a check.
      Inventory of homes is still low. Even with rising rates. As long as the rate is lower than the inflation rate, your mortgage is still a good deal. In fact, your principal residence is probably the best inflation hedge you can own.
      If we go into a recession those who deal in alternate / used goods should be able to weather the storm. Those who do not and are able to pivot will be fine. Reselling isn't just a trend. Those who execute their business effectively will be able to continue making a living. Even in times of hardship.
      Disclaimer: None of this is financial advice. This only reflects my personal opinion.

    Without wishing to sound...indelicate...
    WHO buys someones greasy old frying pan??? 😕
    Is it profesional chefs who are buying them?
    Is it only vintage pots and pans which sell?
