4Runner uphill traction demo A-Trac

Tested out my 2013 4Runner Trail's traction system going up a steep hill. Videos don't do justice but this was about a 30-35 degree slope. I first tried it in 4 Low without any traction aids. Got stuck, backed up and turned on rear dif lock and A-Trac. Instantly gained traction at all 4 wheels and had no wheel slip. What a great system!

Irony is toyota's demos are always super nerfed. You have to look for the community to see what an incredible vehicle they build. My GX470 has literally no videos from Lexus detailing how great it is off road and only knowing the history of these vehicles gives you some insight into what it can do.
Suffice to say low range and atrac have even saved me when I've gotten the thing beached in sand and snow! This plus a half decent driver = go almost anywhere!

Really hard to justify the extra cost off the rear locker when A-Trac performs better at low speeds. Problem is that most people don’t know how to use A-Trac properly, so they think a locking diff is always a better option. Not always.

I have an 06 wrangler unlimited open diff. Can't wait to get a rear locker!
