At first, I thought the side marker lights were long and narrow indicating the lights were 1970 and newer. Now it looks like there is an engine emblem next to the light. The lights on 1968 & 1969 were short and square, lights on 1970 and later cars were long and narrow. I have a 1968 Chevy II Nova (not Super Sport). My Chevy II has the original 4 cylinder engine (153 c.i. L4) that was built from 1962 until 1970. in 19678, 1270 L4 engines were installed in the Chevy ii cars. With the 4, the car is a subcompact, any other engine it's an intermediate.

Those dirtbags should've gave you the old hood back at the shop. Um,would've been nice to see the engine too. Fun toy. Enjoy. ▪☆☆☆▪

Totally agree. Some people have no concept of the right thing. They sold it to him. Wtf

We didn't pay too much for it. Seems like there may have been some history between the shop owners and former owners son. I didn't dive into it, I believe they had wanted to buy the car or something... but I was more than happy to buy it if needed as it is a very important piece of the car.

@@ironhorse127 a buddy of mine who i was building his 289 hi-po for got disgusted with the project, as we sometimes do,and gave me the engine. It just came back from the machine shop, .030 over, heads, crank, nice cam everything ready to go. Except a Mustang to put it in. I pulled it out of his life long dream car,a 67 Stang, but his body man talked him into junking it. He hadn't cunsulted me first, it wasn't junk and needed some easy welding, and I had a primo welder buddy lined up for the work too. He then lost interest and had no money to buy another Stang. He still owed me for pulling the 289, disassembly and the trips to and from the machine shop. So he said sell it for what I owe you, I don't care what you do with it. It had been a year since the stang was gone and he didn't see another in his future. I held on to that engine for him without him knowing anything about it for 4 or 5 years after losing contact with him. When I moved house after 7 years there i tracked down a mutual friend and he had him contact me a week before I moved. I said, hey I'm moving, come get your engine. My what?!? Yup, I saved it for you all these years, you want it back? I'll be over tomorrow with the truck for it! Wow! After all these years, thanks! That's how you treat people, I believe. ▪☆☆☆▪

Awesome car.

It's good they didn't butcher the SS hood. The mail box hood sucks.
