I like the fact it points out the problem with civ 5
owen brady I realised that when you have seen whales or know a city state or civ that has whales your people then know what it is and demand it.
That's why we want them!

That sounds so bloody familiar. It's weird how your cities start
demanding some obscure luxury that is literally only found on one single
tile on the entire map that you won't even discover until 5000 years
later.

The mechanic always chooses a luxury available in the world that you do not have. Therefore, it punishes people who collect luxuries.
The secret is to trade away all the luxuries you can and only get the ones that people demand back for a little while.
Makes total sense.
Then everyone just demands cloves and Jakarta is stingy, so you're screwed for the rest of the game.

Civ V will never stop being a beautiful fountain of comedy. Nor will it ever stop ruining History exams everywhere, because apparently "when Augustus Caesar nuked George Washington's capital city in 1873" is not a valid answer to "what event led to the beginning of World War I?"

The biggest thing that grates me in Civ5, Citizens demanding whales. Meanwhile the great search for the mythical body of water called the ocean continues.
I have to love how people demand a resource they couldn't possibly have seen without leaving the country.

It was we love the monarch day in civ 4
and it was we love the (Insert kind of leader) day.
In Civ 3 it changed based on what kind of government you had. My cities all seemed to love the Fuhrer.
lol Civ VI doesn't even have that many female leaders. Only 5/20 are female. And besides Catherine di Medici, they're all pretty important. I don't know why people think civ vi is trying to be pc.

I tried to go for a culture victory. I stayed to myself on my secluded island until one day, I got attacked by one of the ai out of no where. I successfully defended and they gave me one of their cities in exchange for peace (who could deny a free city)
Hundred turns later they all denounced be because I was a blood thirsty "warmonger"

This is even funnier in german cause the german translation for "whales" and "elections" is very alike ("Wale" and "Wahlen"), so it seems like he's demanding elections instead of cheering the king even if he don't know what an election is XD

or a Monarch of any kind
I am sure even if you are the USA you can be a monarchy...
Historically speaking the term "King" was used as a term for the ruling monarch and was originally gender neutral despite being mostly used by males. There have been several instances of royal females taking on the title of King but as far as I know no male rulers called themselves Queens. Being a spouse of a ruler with royal blood doesn't give you the rights to the monarchy. A good example of this would be the British monarchy where Queen Elizabeth's husband who is still considered a "Prince" in his nineties is waaaaay down the line for royal succession.
