The problem is I think he has underestimated people so that strategy has bit him in the butt when people he didn't expect performs better then he expected. While when he was younger he just went in to try to win everything.
Huge respect for shaw to be so competitive for so long. Everyone saying no chance - he came 5th and didn’t have his best performance. Shaw is an athlete and will adapt to the comp. Anything can happen in strongman, and Brian can certainly win again.
Brian Shaw is a personal hero, he is such a good man and his drive has gotten me to focus on working on myself. I'll always consider him the greatest man of all time. I will never stop being impressed with the achievements and effort and humility he maintains.
Brian Shaw is a Legend. Right there on Mt. Rushmore of Strongman. I still believe he can win his 5th title. Will cheer for him as always this year as well!
If you look at Brian's performance at the Shaw Classic last year you can see he is still very hungry to get a 5th WSM under his belt & that he is still one of the top strongman right now. Since strongman is not just about who can win a single event but who can place high enough in every event that wins in the end & with Brian working to regain the speed he had when he won his first 2 WSM titles and still getting stronger as well I believe he can still win #5.
At the 2020 WSM, Brian was stressed out After testing positive then having to retest, luckily the second result was negative. It threw him off, that would have thrown anyone off. He was so close to not competing at all. It rocked him. He's still a threat to all of them. He proved that at the Shaw Classic.
Brian is the GOAT of strongman. I’ve ever a man deserved to be king of the sport and all within the kingdom of strongman, it is the lion hearted sportsman Brian Shaw.
In my opinion I think Brian Shaw is the strongest man to ever live. And he definitely is the strongman that has inspired me the most. His work ethic is at a Kobe Bryant type level.
That last bit with Colyn asking who you'd want to help you from under a car says it all to me. I don't care how fast you were carrying whatever, how STRONG are you? Has to be Brian.
Brian actually did something like that and he talked about it in one of his videos. He was driving somewhere when he came upon a car accident. The car door was jammed shut or something so Brian quite literally folded the car door. Imagine that man, being stuck in a car and one of the strongest men in the world rips the door off so you can be freed.
He barely utilizes much equipment (ie never deadlifts in suit or figure 8’s, squats in sleeves and doesn’t even wear the best belt) just brute force and technique
@@GiantsLiveSTRONGMAN next video should be about Big Z and his achievements and people will see that he's literally the strongest person that ever lived
definitely one of the GOATs. Big Z is unreachable though given his insane amount of records, his 4 WSM wins, his wins in that other organisation, his wins at ASC...
To be fair Big z did 14 worlds strongest men and only got 4. Where as Pudz did like 9, got 5 first places, 2 second places and 1 disqualified, and his first one when he was just starting off and experimenting strongest man, he got 4th. Pudz only trained serious for the strongest man 7 times and in those 7 times were the 5 wins, 1 disqualified and 1 second. What I'm saying is that if Pudz did it 14 years seriously like Big Z, Pudz would have about 10 wins.
@@dannytymus1652 I think people also forget that Pudz had a torn arm in 09 and only trained for a couple of weeks. The fact that he still took second is amazing. Healthy he would have smoked them all. People also don't realize that Pudz has 6 European strongman and never lost, best big Z 3 times in a row then big z stopped doing it until pudz retired. Plus Pudz won 16 super series to big z's 1. Honestly people just ignore all of this about Pudzianowski for whatever reason. Or it's just the young gen z that doesn't know because he isn't big on social media.
I hope he gets his fifth just for his drive and simply because he is a class act. He doesnt blow smoke, he doesnt talk other competitors down, if anything he goes out of his way to lift others up. Personally, Im a huge admirer of the 4 big boys of WSM, Big Z, Shaw, Hafthor, and Eddie. They are all experts in their strongest events. Big Z in the overhead press, Brian in the stones, Hafthor with the toss over the bar, Eddie with deadlift. All of them are amazing strong men

Shaw is a beast. Looked much stronger in 2021 with his second place finish. Hes in my top 3 all time, and is my all time favorite. I probably have shaw as 2nd or 3rd best all time right now.
It never gets old man. That 1st WSM win for brian at 6:00 is electrifying. You can feel the emotion in his post win interview with bill and just the energy.
Brian Shaw has been my Favourite strongman since i got into it, in 2017. Wether or not he gets the 5th title, he'll go down in history as one of the greatest strongman ever!
Brian inspired a lot of young man who look up to him to reach bigger goals, but Brian being soo much into his head, sometimes it seams like he's not enjoying it like the other guys. But don't get me wrong, in the last 2 years he looks like he want to finally give back and help the young guns and compete with a smile knowing he might not have as much in the tank as he used to. One of the greatest for sure !!
The Hamstring Injury back at the 2019 Arnolds was the turning point where brains performance went down, if he can get into shape then i can't see how he won't get a podium finish

To some people who said Brian Shaw is already washed up was basically too harsh and did not respect the man's ethics. The Man's himself is always on the Top 10 Final WSM since 2009 and never been in qualified status since then. With the many titles he holds while also being the Top 10 finals (including in the podium sessions) in the World for more than a decade CONSISTENTLY was never an easy hurdle. While some younger competitor like Eddie and Hafthor had already retired from the sport, he's still the game even when he's older than both of them. But no offense both Eddie and Hafthor is still good tho. I salute him for being consistently hungry towards his ambition while also maintaining his health without being too far away to the limit .... and I still really hope he could win the 5th title someday for the sake of his worthy prolonged strongman career

Brain is a machine. never gives and always gives it his best. he's my personal favorite however, Big z strength is unmatched. he may not be the quickest but his strength especially in his shoulders makes him one if not the strongest man who walked the planet.
Brian has a massive heart and I like to think he's as nice in person as he comes across. Best is debatable and I don't think without stats, which aren't always the best way to prove anything we'll ever know, it's subjective. I would definitely love to see the big win another wsm!
I really hope he does. Be interesting to see if trimming down will help or not. At least it keeps him healthy though, so he can help the sport in other ways for a long time to come after he decides he's done competing.
There are very few people who are consistent winners. Some people show up and win and then they disappear again. Very few keep winning. Well done Brian Shaw!
Big Z might be the best strongman to have ever lived, but the fact that the probably best ever strongman regards Shaw as his greatest rival and some people put Shaw in the conversation for the best despite the sheer magnitude of Big Z's achievements counts for something.
Brian didn't just win, he dominated the competition in the years he was on top. He's past his peak - making a good amount of money and starting his family, he keeps longevity in the back of his mind during his training and consequently doesn't push the limits as much. WSM has so many variables, he could still win again with a bit of luck.
I think it's more his size then his age. Every year he kept getting bigger & bigger & a lot of the speed events hurt him. This year he is leaning down for WSM
Well the way I see it he’s still young, never had a super serious injury other than his bicep tear in 2012, which according to him could’ve been worse considering he still finished the competition. My man is definitely gonna finish his career with 5-6 titles from his current 4 and I would lay money on it

So I think he always just plays for points & tries to do just good enough to get enough points without breaking himself.
Talk about a class act. He's the best in the world and so incredibly humble and sportsmanlike. Great role model
Brian Shaw is a personal hero, he is such a good man and his drive has gotten me to focus on working on myself. His determination helped my own motivation and watching this man just go at it so hard and so consistently impresses me to no end. I really want to see him win his 5th, he's been so determined to get it and pushing himself so hard. No matter what though I want to see him live long and happy. He's been a huge inspiration for me building myself, and I'm sure many others, he's so immensely impressive and yet maintains humility.
Even if he doesn't make it, he'll always be my favorite.
Definition of a gentle giant. Such a good competitor but always so respectful and speaks so humbly in every interview I’ve seen.
No matter what you say, he has been going at it, consistently being at the final.
At the 2020 WSM, Brian was stressed out After testing positive then having to retest, luckily the second result was negative. It threw him off, that would have thrown anyone off. He was so close to not competing at all. It rocked him.
He's still a threat to all of them. He proved that at the Shaw Classic.
Brian is one of the greatest to ever do it, period. He’s undeniable.
I really hope he comes and gets that 5th one, such a great guy.
Brian is the GOAT of strongman. I’ve ever a man deserved to be king of the sport and all within the kingdom of strongman, it is the lion hearted sportsman Brian Shaw.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how much brian has brought attention to this sport and elevated it
0:18 Here comes the tidal wave that caused so much destruction in Japan
In my opinion I think Brian Shaw is the strongest man to ever live. And he definitely is the strongman that has inspired me the most. His work ethic is at a Kobe Bryant type level.
Statically strongest?
Big z I have to say is the goat
I've followed Shaw here and there for years now and, champion or not, he's a legend. Seems like a legit good dude, too.
I can't help but think he can. Brian has a special place in my heart that probably keeps me from looking at it objectively.
Big z
He barely utilizes much equipment (ie never deadlifts in suit or figure 8’s, squats in sleeves and doesn’t even wear the best belt) just brute force and technique
Gotta be honest, there could be a series of documentaries on the history of every multiple WSM champion
Who would you like to see?
@Tushar Luni cool
Other organisation = IFSA
To be fair Big z did 14 worlds strongest men and only got 4. Where as Pudz did like 9, got 5 first places, 2 second places and 1 disqualified, and his first one when he was just starting off and experimenting strongest man, he got 4th.
Pudz only trained serious for the strongest man 7 times and in those 7 times were the 5 wins, 1 disqualified and 1 second. What I'm saying is that if Pudz did it 14 years seriously like Big Z, Pudz would have about 10 wins.
@@thecensoredmuscle563 you: 🤡🤡🤡🤡
@@davidkasinskas3822 lol random
@@dannytymus1652 I think people also forget that Pudz had a torn arm in 09 and only trained for a couple of weeks. The fact that he still took second is amazing. Healthy he would have smoked them all.
People also don't realize that Pudz has 6 European strongman and never lost, best big Z 3 times in a row then big z stopped doing it until pudz retired.
Plus Pudz won 16 super series to big z's 1.
Honestly people just ignore all of this about Pudzianowski for whatever reason. Or it's just the young gen z that doesn't know because he isn't big on social media.
This was a really nice documentary. Please do more of these!
Thanks for the feedback - we enjoy making them🙏
Brian’s a super humble, laid back dude who can kick it in gear. It’s really cool to watch that. Thanks for vid
I hope he gets his fifth just for his drive and simply because he is a class act. He doesnt blow smoke, he doesnt talk other competitors down, if anything he goes out of his way to lift others up. Shaw is the kind of competitor that will be fondly remembered not just by fans, but by his fellow competitors
All of them are amazing strong men
Eddie is not at those 3's level.
I think this year is the year . He's in amazing shape . Shim down more lean not as heavy ..WSM has changed and #5 is coming up for the big man from Colorado . I'd be over the moon 5th title .. be best ever .great video
Glad you enjoyed Vegas🙏
Shaw is a beast. Looked much stronger in 2021 with his second place finish. Hes in my top 3 all time, and is my all time favorite. I probably have shaw as 2nd or 3rd best all time right now.
It never gets old man. That 1st WSM win for brian at 6:00 is electrifying. You can feel the emotion in his post win interview with bill and just the energy.
He'll always be my favorite Strongman.
Brian Shaw has been my Favourite strongman since i got into it, in 2017. Wether or not he gets the 5th title, he'll go down in history as one of the greatest strongman ever!
Honestly really hope he gets it. He's such an inspirational person
@@A-A-RonDavis2470 he got an injury to the right hamstring a year or 2 prior to that comp
Then in 2019 he did something to his left hamstring.
These videos are great for new fans to get to know the history and the greats of the sport, thanks and keep em coming!
Isaiah - thank you vey much for taking time to write this. That is good to read - and your words truly motivates us to do more, a lot more like this. We do what we like to watch - and its great to hear others enjoy. I think when someone who doesn't know you, and has nothing to gain out of being nice still says words of encouragement and appreciation, that is when reading praise must be truly appreciated. So thank you. Your high praise and kind comments are far less frequen than actual good creators putting out good content on this whole platform…IMO So thanks and it was just a sentence or two - but it made our day.
Epic tribute to a legend.lets go Brian no 5 .😎💪💪💪
Thank you - we loved making it.
This year is Brian's year to shine!!!
God Bless Brian Shaw and his leadership and example of a TRUE CHAMPION !!! No matter how many titles he wins or not the fact that he is always giving his ALL already make him a winner !!! Thank you brother for all you do to help others and inspire a healthy need to be at our best and give it out best always !!! We pray for you and we love you Brian !!!💖♥🥇🏆👏🏻👍🏻😍🦾🧑🏻💪🏻
Go Bryan we love you man your bad ass. Thank you for everything you do man. Love from CO
I absolutely enjoy and respect brian shaw so much he has proven himself a legend.
I’m really enjoying the extra effort that goes into making these mini documentaries. Thank-you Andrew B Quinn,- are you now the voice of official strongman?
Great video. Thank you. The short breaks to explain the video are awesome!
Thank you Russell - we hope to do more of them. Anyone in particular you would like to see?
@@GiantsLiveSTRONGMAN you have great videos of my favorite like eddie hall, big Z. Brian shaw...etc. All those guys seem to have a good legacy in strongman even though some don't compete anymore.. Big Z, and Magnus judge, eddie hall commentates and still is active. but it seems like everyone has forgot about Mariusz Pudzianowski's run. Or it seems like he has fallen off the planet. From the little I have heard about him he was a complete badass. Also the only multiple winner that I can think of that had that shredded bod. I personally would love one on him if you thought it would get some views. Apologize if you have one already and I haven't seen yet. Thank you for asking sir.
This video doesn’t show how humble, sporting and nice Brian is. It’s the first thing I notice about him while watching videos of him
Brian is a good man with respect and drive. it does not matter if he gets number five, he will from this point on always be a legend
a gentle giant - and one of the strongest human beings that has ever graced this planet
Strongmen who derserved more WSM titles
Savickas,Shaw,Big Kaz
Totally agree!
Brian's ultimate genius may prove to be his talent for organizing and running strength events, a gift that defies age and physical prowess.
Brian is a humble and down to earth guy, who I would say yes! He is the man in WSM! Brian is the best! His always gracious attitude makes him that much better!
THIS is the video i have been waiting for!!!!!!!! thank you!!!
You're Welcome! We enjoyed making it.
Respect to this big grizzly bear who is the nicest...💪💪💪 May you have the spirit of strength, strong and good health for the world's 2021,.🙏🙏🙏
I think Brian can make it 5. I feel like the way he came up short in 2020 (but let's be real 5th strongest man in the world is no small feat!) will drive him to really give his final push and focus in more than ever. Hope he doesnt injure himself in the process
Brian Shaw all the way. Would never count him out. He looks like he's in the best shape he's been in awhile. Im rooting for him
that clip at the end was amazing, because brain shaw ended up actually saving someone this exact way
He does it with such smoothness. He is just on some other wavelength
0:53 Who is the interviewer? Brian is 6'8 and looks normal height.
Love this! This was very entertaining! Thank you!
Thank you for the feedback 🙏
Brian is still competing and performing at a high level. He's not done yet. And when Bill kazmaier compliments you, it's damn serious. 🤘😎
Brain is a machine. never gives and always gives it his best. he's my personal favorite however, Big z strength is unmatched. he may not be the quickest but his strength especially in his shoulders makes him one if not the strongest man who walked the planet.
Time is running out for Shaw, he is past his prime. Good luck to Brian in 2021, wishing him all the best.
Black Hills State alumni! Love Brian Shaw in SD
Brian has a massive heart and I like to think he's as nice in person as he comes across. Best is debatable and I don't think without stats, which aren't always the best way to prove anything we'll ever know, it's subjective. I would definitely love to see the big win another wsm!
Brian Shaw.. One of the biggest men on our world.. with a heart to match it equally.
Brian Shaw is a fantastic person and a strong gentleman. I pray the best for him.
Big Z might be the best strongman to have ever lived, but the fact that the probably best ever strongman regards Shaw as his greatest rival and some people put Shaw in the conversation for the best despite the sheer magnitude of Big Z's achievements counts for something.
I love Brian Shaw 😭😭😭
He's definitely got a bit of it back this last year, you can hear it in his warmup and Lift grunts. Sounds a bit angry. And I'd love to see it happen.
Nice to see all of this footage together!
thanks - what would you want to see next Sam?
@@GiantsLiveSTRONGMAN did you do anything on strongmen from Finland?
Brian didn't just win, he dominated the competition in the years he was on top. He's past his peak - making a good amount of money and starting his family, he keeps longevity in the back of his mind during his training and consequently doesn't push the limits as much. WSM has so many variables, he could still win again with a bit of luck.
Brian is the GOAT for sure. He's not only a 4 time winner but he's also stayed at a high level of competition longer than anyone else
One of the 2 GOATs in strongman history
Watching Brian train I think he gets #5. He’s well aware of what has held him back, and I think he’ll make the adjustments to leave no doubt.
I got Martins for the ad on this video, lmao.
The older Shaw gets, the more he struggles on hot days.
I think it's more his size then his age. Every year he kept getting bigger & bigger & a lot of the speed events hurt him. This year he is leaning down for WSM
@@jel0sh He's lost 80lbs what you talking about?
@@rivertwygzbed543 Exactly hence he is leaning down. He didn't start his trim down until after the 2020 WSM & after the Shaw Classic
@@jel0sh agree- you can see he gasses on those more stamina/endurance style events
@@rivertwygzbed543 Reading comprehension isn't your forte I see? Jewish clearly said "kept getting bigger and bigger".
Great vid... Hopefully y'all do more out these on diff individuals lol!!!!
That loading race slip up will haunt him for decades. Still my favorite strongman of all time
Well the way I see it he’s still young, never had a super serious injury other than his bicep tear in 2012, which according to him could’ve been worse considering he still finished the competition. My man is definitely gonna finish his career with 5-6 titles from his current 4 and I would lay money on it
Brian deserves number 5
Even though he is a legend of the sport who has won so much, he is still the most humble of the bunch. Respect to that attitude of his.
definitely the greatest. i hope the legend of brian shaw ends with him wining the 5th title and if he does that it means he has officially won against 3 generations in 2 decades. what a legend.
