Maybe you got a defective unit? There is a 9db subbass boost between no EQ and music.
It's an $80 dac amp doesn't need a need a mic input that bring up the cost And it's meant to be a budget Conscious product

how would you compare this to zen dac?
I haven't tried the Zen DAC. I have tried the signature, which is a superior DAC to the UNO, but I think the UNO competed more with the Air series.
