Hi, good review here. I’m looking to upgrade from the Zen Air Can. Contrary to your preference I do enjoy the x space which opens up my Beyer Amiron Home soundstage a little bit. I’m running them out of SMSL RAW MDA1 through rca line out. If you have listened to the Air Can, would appreciate your thoughts on whether this upgrade would be a clear sonic upgrade. Also I’m not interested in the added features such as game mode and x mems. Thanks! By the way, the comparison with A90 is indeed controversial! :D
Does this have channel imbalance at low volume like I have on Zen Dac V2? At low volume only the right side kicks in, and you have to turn the knob more to have both channels playing ath the same volume or at all. This is bothersome as I sometimes like to listen at low volumes, when I focus at work and such. This is especially annoying with iems
hi, i have Zen Dac 3 with HD660S2 and everything sounds good, but not as good, as i was expect. I planning add Zen Can 3, because i think, is needed for 300 Ohm headphones, even if volume for that not a problem at all. I think, that amplifier can improve sounds on these headphones a lot and i use balanced 4.4 mm, which is give mi more power, than classic 6.3 mm, but still sound is sometimes almost worse, than my old HD598...
Great video. You gave me confidence in checking this out.
Thank you!
looks cool!

Thank you! I sadly have not tried the Zen Air Can so don't know how the sound quality would compare, sorry. 🫤
