Glad you liked it, thank you. Usually for Rock faced fireplaces, I recommend distressed beam style mantels. Sometimes with corbels depending on the style of rock and sometimes just the beam itself works.
@@AnthonyScolaro1 I would love to see a video on just that. I have a very dark, flat slate rock, floor to ceiling, 6 feet wide fireplace. Desperate for ideas
Thanks. I’m trying to trim out my house in between regular work and my clients. Then juggling TH-cam, Instagram and Facebook. Needless to say, I’m absolutely exhausted.

Anthony, Great Video. Is that mdf mostly? I"m trying to make one myself....but find myself making a much bigger and complicated project than your video. I have the tools just need to do it and make it look easy like you did.
Yes, it is a gas fireplace. Much cleaner and safer than wood burning and it still has a real flame with ceramic logs. You can still roast marshmallows!
Yes, that jig is for small moldings like the cove I used for inside the panels and around the bottom. It helps reduce tear out and helps you get the cut right on your mark the first time, instead of cutting then readjusting and cutting again.
ah... one problemo. THAT NICE wooden structure he is building is NOT in code compliance. sorry. From Twelve inch separation. When you go to sell that house? you will get a bit of a surprise.. Just sayin.
Sorry to say to you that it is code and I sold my house and already moved. And my house was built new to code with these same exact dimensions of distance from the firebox. Thanks for your incorrect input.
He reminds me of Billy Crystal!!!! I felt like I was watching him do a character from his earlier days!!!!❤😊
Enjoyed watching your process
Really liked the video. I’m planning on something similar for my granddaughter.
Finally!!! A video with an thorough explanation. 👍
Measuring and cutting, my weakness , love to watch you work!
Great project and very nice design. What I liked most was your project organization for each step of the process. It made for a quality job
That is beautiful! This is what I need. My fireplace is just the tile. I’d love to have this exact mantle in my home.
It looks amazing. Your attention to detail has paid off, beautiful surround and mantel.
Nice work Anthony!!
Great video, gives me some helpful ideas.
Beautiful mantle, nice job 👍🏼
That turned out amazing. You do really nice work. Do you have mantle ideas for a rock faced fireplace

Nice job.
Enjoyable videos! What was your justification for going to a sliding TS? How you like it? Are you hustling in a living room!?
Looks great... nice job. Thanks for the video....
I loved the way you installed the crown molding in one piece. Very impressive.
That looks great Anthony, are you busy with a total house revamp?
Thanks. I’m trying to trim out my house in between regular work and my clients. Then juggling TH-cam, Instagram and Facebook. Needless to say, I’m absolutely exhausted.
@@AnthonyScolaro1 Can imagine, luckily for you it's winter or else you had to post something on the bike as well or it is still warm enough to ride?

Hello, Great video! If I may ask, what the depth from the face of the stone to the front of the mantel pilasters ?
Depth from the tiles is about 3”
What if you scratch or ruin the wall paint? Do you have to repaint if you're at a client? Or is it part of what you do anyway?

I can not seem to get the cove molding cut correctly to fill in the rectangles - any videos for doing this??
Can you provide the source of crown molding you used?
I sourced it from One of My hardwood dealers in NJ. This was years ago, so I don’t remember the profile but I know the spring angle was 45/45.

Hi, none of it is MDF except the crown molding. It’s all primed pine.
@@AnthonyScolaro1 I see thanks Anthony
Did you need to put caulking in between the tile on the floor and the base of the mantel?
I didn’t because the molding sits tight to the floor but you absolutely can if you have any gaps.
I love it!!!! Is that a gas fireplace?

Hi, I would like to ask where you can buy this clamp that you used when gluing slats?

Here’s a link for the clamps
@@AnthonyScolaro1 I mean those squeezes that you use 15 minutes and 45 seconds of film.

@@AnthonyScolaro1 can you use the 2p10 to glue it or just clamps
@@zoeyanth1 yes you definitely can use CA glue instead of clamps
Bad ass bro
Thought you’d watch some tv while you work.
