It looks SO incredible! I love it! I wasn't crazy about the white mantle (though it was a beautiful piece) because I loved the warmth the original beam brought to the space. But wow, this is so beautiful and inviting. Well done!

If I were doing for me. I would use a different color of brick. That’s just me. It looks good. But I just don’t like that color brick. A lot of people do. But not me. That’s just me. lol. Thank you for doing that I giving me motivation to do build something like that.

I don’t like that the brick take an away from the wood. It looks to busy like the rest of the walls with the shelving looks really elegant but with the brick maybe if you painted the brick a different color I don’t know it doesn’t. It looks cheap when you did the brick the wood looks elegant. The color is elegant. The shelves are elegant but the brick it just makes it look cheap. I don’t know.maybe lighting the brick.

Changing the insert was definitely the right call. It's more traditional looking while the rectangular one was modern. The surround turned out very pretty. Impressed as always!
Yes! I couldn’t put my finger on why it never looked right to me before. And that’s when I realized the insert needed to change.
I think this is my favorite of your fireplace redo’s. It brings a very warm and cozy feeling into the room!

I love the new fireplace. I liked your first makeover because I liked the warmth of the wood mantle. I'm glad you went back to that look. The brick looks great! I recently did a chunky wood mantle that I slipped over my existing mantle. Then I did shiplap up top & stone down the sides. It turned out great. I owe your videos for giving me the desire to want to DIY (my hubby does not thank you though 🤣🤣)

Amazing job! I would love to know how your kids and husband react to your DIYs. Do you talk it over with your husband or is it more of a surprise? Is your husband handy as well? Do you do work on projects for family and friends? Do you always stick to a budget? What skill do you feel is your strength? Which skill has been your hardest to grasp? What skill have you learned since starting TH-cam? I have been a fan since the very beginning! I’ve learned so much. I would really like more in depth tutorials on things. Like how do you put in an undermount sink? How did you figure out the recessing of the fireplace? Handy things like that. You have really empowered women to DIY with your videos!!! Thank you for always sharing your projects and skills!!! ❤

I was never a fan of your fireplace. The actual fire looked too modern and was the wrong shape, but that was just my opinion and it's your home so you do your thing. But now, wow, it looks amazing and suits the rest of the room perfectly. You are so very talented and made a great job of the fire surround. Well done❤

Brick needs to be lighter. It’s to busy With the rest of the design.

Okay the first update to the fireplace was not, somehow I missed the second update to the fireplace (going to watch that right now). But by far this is my favorite fireplace look. Amazing, great job like always!!!
Painting the fireplace surround the same color as the built-ins was definitely the right choice! Also changing the fireplace from rectangle to square made such a positive difference. I love the mantel you built, great job! Not fond of the brick color, but the brick look is great.

Absolutely! The thin brick can be used on fireplaces, accent walls, backsplash, floors. And it’s so much easier than a ceramic or porcelain tile because the cuts have to be way less precise. If I were using it for a backsplash, I would make sure to seal the grout very well so I could clean it easily.

This is my favorite Fire Place out of all you've done. This one looks more real, the square shape and the brick make it more authentic looking. It looks really good. Does the fireplace give out any heat?

I think so too! Yes it gives out heat but I love that I can have the fireplace on without heat because… Texas 🤣

Kelsey, This fireplace remodel turned out to be absolutely gorgeous. You were definitely right about changing out the firebox from rectangle to square, it looks so much better. Then painting the walls green was a great move but the mantle and brick took this fireplace from pretty to gorgeous. I love the color of the stain and also the color of the brick. 😊❤😊

You are so talented! I’m sure there are a ton of us on here that wish they could do what you do. With that being said…that brick color doesn’t look right with the soft green of the surround. I hate myself for saying that. Using stone around the fireplace would of been a great melding of your options 1 and 2.
Wish I could have done stone but it wasn’t in the budget.

They are faux stems. I can’t find a link for them but they’re from hobby lobby. I found them in the floral section.

Yes I shot a few brad nails through the mantle into the shiplap to hold it in place
