"Proper trains" I get they might not be great and they have a lot of flaws, but how is a three and three quarter thousand horsepower high speed DEMU not a "proper train"?
Because the said class is manufactured from recycled washing machines and Vauxhall Corsa,s, only crumb of coolness they have is those Clessie Cummins QSK engines. Because its is far easier for train manufacturers and beneficial to the planet to recycle cast off Zanussi and Candy washing machines bought from Currys and Euronics into new trains. I am not puzzled, the guy is right, bring back the old Hoovers with a rake of Mark Three Coaches.
There was no voyager there and I assume it was just as easy to send a class 57 which is specially designed for the job, thanks for the comment, hope this helped!
Tbh I’m not 100% sure, 57309 was already on the way from Crewe though before 57308 was stood down so maybe 309 was there to replace 308 as Carlisles thunderbird but instead they decided it would just be easier to use 57309 and leave 308 at Carlisle? Not 100% sure though! Thanks for the comment!!
@@irishsixtysixfanGbrf66739 No I’m pretty sure, must have 308 a Delenier coupling, because the only reason that it is kept at the station is there to be used as a thunderbird rescue locomotive for Broken down trains!
@@irishsixtysixfanGbrf66739 hmm not sure! I just looked at photos of 57308 I took on other days and it has the coupling at both ends! Maybe there was a problem with its coupling on this day?
The reason there is no description is because I don’t know what was wrong with the 221, I put broken down because I assume that it must’ve had a fault which was stopping it from moving very far under its own power, otherwise there would have been no need to bring in the thunderbird, thanks for the comment!
A master class in how to remove crap from a railway line, use a Tampax Extractor a Brush Class 57 with special couplings designed to tow a Galloping Tampax should it expire ,yes cats&kittens a Pendolino, as its shape resembles a Tampax Tampon bought from Boots the chemist. Coupled said Extractor to the string of recycled Candy washing machines, er Class 221 and tow to the nearest boneyard.
A very interesting piece of action.
Not an everyday event. Good work.
Yes gynaecology on wheels, the 221,s are crap, designed by Zippy and Bungle from Rainbow with help from Fisher Price Toys.

intresting video nice one.
Thanks!
Great Video of 57309 + 221110 but I am still puzzled with to why 57308 couldn't have handled the Voyager?
Thanks for Sharing the Vid!
Same! I find it it odd that they tried coupling 57308 to the other end of the voyager aswell? A bit strange! Thanks for the comment!
@@TRAlNVlDEOSIt seems 57308's coupling wasn't working properly
@@nathan83699 yeah maybe
That's the Royal Mail train that just passed through.
Yes!
@@TRAlNVlDEOS such a beautiful train.
hi there. great video. the cl57 looks great, but i hate those voyagers, why can't we have proper trains back ?
I’m puzzled by your comment. As the Avanti Class 221s are due to be replaced in the next few years.

@basiltaylor8910 bring back the proper full length slam door '125s' too, including on-tap beer!
I thought the mail train was no more?
Really, I never heard that! Where did you hear it? Thanks for the comment!
Apparently, it was the Travelling Post office, where they sorted the mail ceased in 2004. The current mail train is just carrying mail no sorting
@@davidbarber6268 Wow, I always thought it was still sorting the mail inside! Thanks for that interesting information!
@@TRAlNVlDEOSnope, they’re just MU vans.
So why couldn't they use another Voyager to rescue it instead? Do Voyagers not have push-pull capabilities?

Must have been minor like a Speedo issue or something as the voyager could move on it's own
Yeah that would make sense

It was coming from Shieldmuir Mail Terminal to Warrington Royal Mail! Thanks for the comment!
