Riot games upcoming fighting game 2XKO has recieved very little news or updates as to the state of the game with no new character reveals since yasuo and that was 8 months ago, there has been very little talks outside of riot memeposting and talking about the 5 existing characters already so hopefully more soon and im just wrong and they announce everything at evo japan

I def feel the same, their keywords they used in the name reveal indicated more exciting news and frequency of exciting news would be in action. I think also community is not sure if they are holding their cards tight or if there just isn’t more cards to show has caused more concern. Likely will utilize evo japan and evo American for news or like they always have to do it a week before evo.
Dude i f*ing wish they drop at least two characters more for the open test, like one for evo JP and another for the test. I completly agree that theres way too little development announces.

Im hooked on 2XKO as a concept right now, but there has been no recent announcements of substance to make me want to try or main any character right now. Closest thing is Yasuo being similar to Johnny but as of right now, Theres been nothing to really keep people engaged besides the initial hype and the incredible amount of faith put into the development team (capable as they are we have only seen a fraction of their total work and it leaves too much up to the imagination) as to what the rest will look like.

I took to heart when Tom said in the announcement "We have a lot game left to build" and I think there's gonna be a ramp up in reveals towards the end of the year. For now we have to settle for events. They shoul've revealed Illaoi now and that would have had a bigger impact. Let's wait until the event to see if they show something else.
I doubt they are gonna start running a hype train before they have a release date nailed down, running a hype train too early is far worse than just dropping release dates a month or 2 before release and keeping the game close to their chest. keeps everyones expectations within reasonable levels - plus with the game being free to play, they don't need to market as hard to convince people its worth their money, free to play is a huge boon to marketing all on its own.
I feel the pain but also think they may release something during EVO Japan. One can hope at least...

Ay, what's with the gatekeep? I don't want to play League just to have an opinion on who should be in the game. The website goes over their abilities well enough imo, and it's fun to speculate on who gets in based on aesthetic appeal, gameplay style, and ideas like "this looks like a wacky character, s/he needs to be in the game"

(Or shen because a tank ninja would be cool especially if he could say pull his spirit blade across the screen as an assist ability and give the current point character a shield or health buffer maybe super armor for one move. So much potential please dont settle for the mediocre normalcy of akali or zed. Give me shen. I beg. I plead. Just because Rammis plays a certain way in League doesn't mean he would play that way in 2XKO. He could move like Bowser and if he had the taunt it could kind of be like Quan Chi hypnosis from MK so yes he would be a cool character.

Nah they don't do cool cinematic trailer to a beta playtest that is not release yet, that ain't it chief, also the 2XKO Japan all posting the announcemenr since they are the target and who are coming at Evo Japan, also if you forget the trailer about the name announcement, they announce they will be at Evo and maybe drop some info there if you forgor that

How far is evo japan? Also, i think only illoi will be playable but they can show us a new game mode or menu/ui, or training mode. It would ve awesome of they have a survival mode. That would be hype in evo japan
EVO Japan starts April 27th and lasts until April 29th
The asian playerbase isnt the target they need to focus on. Korean drink lol for breakfast. Its the west you need to convince. Most fighting game players dislike team fighters so this game has work to be done.
