It's so funny when they can't hold their laughter back. Raymond Burr was trying so hard to not even smile but, he just couldn't cute the mustard. Cool skit.
My parents loved Red Skelton & I enjoyed him, too, growing up. Have been a die hard fan of Raymond Burr since high school, 50 years ago. Loved how Raymond tried so hard not to laugh & a couple of times started to lose his composure. I heard he was quite a prankster.
Red Skeleton he always laugh at his own jokes he and others always had more fun than the audience. You try to kiss me, I'll slap you. A hand gun, 🔪 a submachine gun, and a liverwurst sandwich. That sandwich probably the worst weapon of all because his girlfriend who is his gun Molly made it? I love all of the Red Skeleton TV episodes, he is the only one American Idol ever lived. He's a great comedy genius of all time. Oh Red Skeleton rest in ☮️ peace you are greatly missed. You can never be replaced, my parents and I watched you TV comedy shows in the 1970's.
i love freddie the freeloader... but you would think being in this business Red would be able to keep his composure... but when he laughs it makes it even funnier haha
A relative of these two, tryin' their dead level best NOT to bust gut and start laughin' their heads off is ...remember the Carol Burnett Show ?...I submit to the masses: Harvey Corman and Tim Conway often were in the same boat. That being:..trying so hard NOT to lose it and desolve into wild laughter. Any one care to agree with me ? -Grins- Have a good day and be safe y'all
"Don't you try to kiss me or I'll slap you!" "How do we get rid of the girl?" (Hilarious, because Raymond Burr was closet gay, and Skelton probably knew about it).
@@SR-iy4gg That's the difference between us. I actually met him, spent some time talking him, saw how astonishingly honest he was, saw Raymond and Robert together and how they related to each other. It WAS a father/son relationship, Robert addressed Raymond as 'Sir'. I have NEVER met anyone more passionate about honesty, truth and integrity. He was a very powerful man of God, and God used Him incredibly powerfully to change my life. But people don't care about the truth anymore. Do you?
@@valerieellen2402 I would not care if Raymond were gay, straight or pink with purple dots. A great man, a great philanthropist. A rennaisance man: gourmet cook, art lover, vintner, developer. Visited the troops on the front lines in Korea and Vietnam WITHOUT PUBLIC FANFARE LIKE BOB HOPE. Supported many orphan children. This man deserves the Presidential Medal of Freedom, our country's highest civilians honor.
@@chrinamint It does. That's part of what makes this skit so funny. Many of the jokes are "inside jokes" that we get because we know Raymond was gay. It wasn't commonly known by the public during his lifetime.
Man, I'm used to seeing Burr as Perry Mason!!!
One of the best parts is watching them try not to laugh! LOL
I love watching such a master craftsman at work.
Lmao they're trying not to laugh soooo bad. What a great clip, thanks so much for posting!
It's like watching Tim Conway and Harvey Korman . So funny!
Burr: Now look!
Red: I'm lookin', but he ain't holding it up high enough for me to see yet!
Love it they are trying so hard not to laugh. Love Red 🤣❤

One of the few people who could get away with laughing at his own jokes.
"You try to kiss me and I'll slap you". 😂😂 I loooove this episode!!!!!😂😂
Brilliant. This is as good as it gets!

I agree. I like the parts when he loses it!! :D
"I'm Freddie the freeloader, bewitched, bothered and leaving the back door." Lol
Muito Bom...Obrigada🙏💚🍀🇵🇹
what's she doing with a liverworst sandwich? i love the look he had when he said that. this episode was also filled with the most gems of lines.
Great clip but no volume, can't hardly hear it.

Either the elephant or curtain scenes.
so awesome funny
Couldn't hear any of it. Turn up volume.
I have some of his paintings I'm looking to sell, Certified and signed by Red Skelton. The Gent and the Philosopher. Send me a message if interested.
This is so funny! I love it when people break during scenes! Some of what Red Skelton said was so ironic since Raymond Burr was a closet gay
Why all the emphasis on him being gay.
@@ronniemoon57 That's part of why this is so funny, because we get the inside jokes.

Of course. Those were called "inside jokes." Audiences then didn't know Burr was gay.
He wasn't.
@@valerieellen2402 Yes, he was.

Odd that Burr broke up during the gay joke.
Raymond Burr gay no big deal but back then the studio tried to keep it secret
2:58 *wince*
do you think red knew at the time that burr was gay?? I wish more shows were live now..
Like that matters.
It was an open secret in Hollywood. What the references were were inside jokes. It wasn't really known to the general public then Burr was gay.
He was NOT gay!

@@valerieellen2402 He only lived with a lover for decades, but okay.
I don't think any further proof is needed on why "Ironside" died after Barbara left. Don't get me started on her inferior replacement.
