Beth, I made the chewy nut tart with drizzled with chocolate to bring to a dinner party tonight. It was the best dish of the evening!!! Over the moon fabulous....I didn't even make a practice one first as I have learned to trust your recipes and tips....thanks so much....Jeannie
No matter how on board you were with moving to France, the adjustments are REAL! I would never have guessed some of those items wouldn’t be readily available there! I can see how it would hinder your process at times. You’re resourceful Beth, you’ll get there. Also, the realization of the permanence of such a move can surprise you with an unexpected homesickness you might not have expected. Not to worry, be as loving to yourself as you are to the rest of your family and it will fall away with ease! Merry Holiday Season to you.❤ I can’t wait to try this Chocolate Nut Tart!
@ Aw, what a nice thing for YOU to say! Like everyone, I have my moments! Haha! I just love to love others I guess. Even in crowds we can sometimes feel alone. I’m so grateful for some of the communities on the TH-cams!😆 Beth’s channel has a great one. You being a great example! Have an awesome day Victoria. You just gave mine a real boost. ❤️
Hi Beth thank you for all your unique delicious recipes. Im not the best cook and love how detailed you are. Ive made your lettuce wraps before and my bf loves them so thank you for sharing your recipes
I’m so happy you enjoy them! Cooking is like anything it just takes practice and if you can follow directions, you’re halfway there ha ha ha and the videos really helped too because then you can see what everything is supposed to look like this is what I love about youtube! It’s even taught me how to replace the battery in my fire detector ha ha ha
Hi Beth, when I was living in Prague it was also difficult to find some of the ingredients, I had to use dried cranberries for the sauce, mix my own spices to make the pumpkin pie spice and roast pumpkin to make the puree for the pie. It was hard, but my family and I could enjoy our favorite holiday meal. it worth the hard work. happy thanksgiving
Hi Beth, you’ve always provided us with so many delicious recipes, especially for special occasions. Each one is so detailed, with step-by-step instructions. 💖💝❤️🙏
This looks delicious and I am definitely going to try it! And giggled at referring to your dad as a squirrel 🐿️. Plus your grandma would be proud of this old fashioned way of making the crust.
Cette tarte me saute dans le ventre tellement elle a l'air bonne !! je pense que j'y ajouterai des figues coupées en morceaux et des raisins secs ... un peu comme pour la recette de la "tarte aux mendiants". MERCI Beth.
I must be half squirrel myself because I can not live without nuts!! Beth, this tart looks and sounds scrumptious. It will be part of the Thanksgiving dessert table, I think I will be making individual little tartlets hoping that there will be some😋 leftovers for the🐿 squirrel in me. By the way, I LOVE that cozy sweater you are wearing that color is perfect on you. Merci beaucoup pour une autre excellente recette...Bisous 😘😘😘
Missed you = lovely pie! More recipes in the run up to Christmas please! Especially easy appetisers - have a few people coming back from church tomorrow and at the moment relying heavily on filo pastry to make some interesting yummy things 💗💗💗
🍲🍲Hi Beth, I'm sure you have this recipe, but here is a pumpkin pie spice recipe. Ingredients needed: 3 Tbsp. ground cinnamon 2 tsp. ground ginger 2 tsp. nutmeg 1 1/2 tsp. ground allspice 1 1/2 tsp. ground cloves🍲🍲
This is a must try recipe. Our family will absolutely love this nutty pie for Thanksgiving. Thank for the wonderful recipe! 😊 (The corn syrup filling is so overwhelmingly sweet in traditional pecan pie I normally scrape off and eat the pecans and leave everything else.)
Aww I know there are things I miss about the US too! Namely ingredients and things I can't find here! But slowly and surely I'm finding "close enough" replacements. But Thanksgiving will be HARD! Wish me luck ha!!
@EntertainingWithBeth Beth I was born in greece 🇬🇷 So... I came to usa 🇺🇸 14 1969 When I went back to visit relatives, And still have few there, I went to markets Besides fish, meat, chicken Everything else was veeeeery hard to find So I feel u. We do the best we can. Have a great weekend
Oh my goodness Beth. I’m so making this! And good luck with your thanksgiving in France. Looking forward to your vlog. However. I have a question for you about your other chocolate tart/pie recipes. So. For the chocolate wafer crust, used in your mousse cake and chocolate tart recipes, Nabisco has discontinued the famous chocolate wafer 😢 what could be a good substitute? Thank you so much!
I know!! Why did they do that??!! So I started using oreos and just scrapped out the centers. It's a pain, but it is the only thing that is close to the Famous Wafers :(
Get a couple of butternut squashes, cut them in half and bake them cut side down until very tender. Spoon the pulp out in a colander set over a glass bowl, and allow it to sit in the fridge overnight. I did this and the pie ended up tasting just as good as one made with Libbey's. My only mistake was I should have parbaked the crust a tad longer for a crisper bottom, but other than that it was just as good as any good old American pumpkin pie. I feel the pain because I lived in Europe and I had to make do one year.
Haha, just started the video and I had to chuckle... We don't get those things either, so I had to find a recipe for the pumpkin pie spice and had to cook pumpkin, so I could make a pumpkin pie for one of my boys 😂 Back to the video... 😂😂
@EntertainingWithBeth 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I wish you all the best in your hunt for either your ingredients or new traditions 😉 I need to make this tart 🤪 But I say that about all your recipe videos 😄
Great recipe, especially for a nut lover like me 😍Concerning the American ingredients missing in France, you can make your own pumpkin pie purée and pumpkin pie spice. I am afraid there may be no solution for the cranberries, though. You should also be able to find sweet potatoes and for the marshmallows, well, sometimes it is hard to find the plain ones - at least in Italy. As I have tried to recreate American recipes from time to time, I have learned how to replace many ingredients. I am available should you need some advice. Good luck and let us know how it goes - you actually will as you will vlog 😅
This looks great! I’m tempted to make little individual pies and tarts this year bc there aren’t many of us, we don’t like the same things, and they will be neat to offer take-homes. Could see this is a little muffin size serves with vanilla ice cream! Beth, how different is the flour for you in France? Do you have to adapt recipes at all? Just curious.
This looks so delicious! Can a store bought pie shell be used with this recipe? I am making several desserts for Thanksgiving so I’m trying to make it as quick and easy as possible. Thanks for this amazing recipe! Can’t wait to try it!
I don't have canned pumpkin or pumpkin pie spice in my country, and that was never an impediment to make any recipe with pumpkin. Just make your own puree and spice blend, it is even better. As to cranberries, I already bought frozen ones in France, probably it depends on the region, but they have it.
Hi Beth, I am looking forward to making your chewy nut tart. Check with one of the small food merchants, as they may be able to order cranberries, sweet potatoes, and items you are missing. I prepared Thanksgiving dinner in Florence, Italy about 3 years ago and couldn't find the same items you are mentioning. I walked into this tiny shop in Florence and asked if they had sweet potatoes, he had them hidden! He was able to order more for me along with cranberries among other items and I picked them up the following day. There is one place in Florence, Italy you can purchase canned pumpkin, but it is very expensive, so I chose to make my pie entirely from scratch. Beth, I rented an Airbnb in Florence for a week taking the train back and forth from Lucca every day to get things ready. It was the hardest Thanksgiving meal I cooked and the most rewarding! I am so happy that you are getting to experience it there in France. It is fun to share our holiday with your own family along with our Italian friends in my case and the French in your case. Have a wonderful time!
I watched this the other day. I am def ready to try it. I have cocoa powdered almonds, walnuts and hazelnuts. Do you think the hazelnuts will do ok. Someone gave me a big bag 😵💫 I have a tart pan from when I make the giant peanut butter cup. So I am ready to do this. I know it will be the best. I tell everyone about your page. I have watched you for years. Now back to the French Apple Cake making today! 🥮
Ha! Awww thanks for that. I’m so glad you enjoy it! Yes, you could absolutely use the hazelnuts but I would roast them first to remove their skins if they have skins on them just put them on a tray at 350 Fahrenheit for about 5 to 7 minutes, then pour them into a clean dish towel wrap them up and let them steam for about 10 to 15 minutes and then you will be able to brush off most of the skins then put them in a bag like the almonds and give them whack to crush them since, baking them will make the tart harder to slice. Hope you enjoy!!😉
Ahhh yes. But the Italian cuisine isn't such a bad replacement ha! :) Are you cooking Thanksgiving? I feel like getting a Turkey in Italy would be even harder than here in France! Ha!
Tearing up seeing that you still make TH-cam videos. I used to watch you in elementary and middle school, now I am graduating college. Your videos were always so comforting to me and I loved seeing you pick ingredients from your garden. I’m glad that I found my way back to you. 🤍
Hi Beth! My husband has to watch his cholesterol. I wonder if you could some day come up with a flaky olive oil pie crust or some kind of butter free crust that really works. If anyone can, I am very confident you might be the one :))) Just a thought - keep well !
Didn't you try using plug adapters? It's much more cost efficient than buying new electrical appliances. Also, in Spain you can total buy dehydrated or frozen cranberries as well as canned cranberry sauce, you can also buy canned pumpkin as well as fresh one and you could just prepare your own pumpkin pie spice mixing cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmet and allspice (all of which can be easily found). So my guess is you should also be able to find them in France if you have a big city nearby, or even buy them online in specialty stores or Amazon.
Hi, if you think there is enough time I will happily send you pumpkin in a can, pumpkin spice and cranberries. I think the cranberries will be ok if I put them in a round plastic container. Let me know and add anything else you can think of. I really don't mind as my husband is from England and I'm always mailing things there. Let me know asap so I can get going.
When I was studying abroad, my American friends and I hosted a big Thanksgiving dinner. We were able to get almost everything but cranberries in our small town, and we made escalopes de dinde instead of a whole turkey. It was one of the best Thanksgivings of my life!
I love how you always bring new ideas and recipes to try! When I look at other channels, they all tend to make and do the same thing. Thank you! ❤
Ha! Aww! Well, You are so welcome! I hope you enjoy this! It's a yummy one :)
We certainly will miss you this our first Thanksgiving without your delicious dishes! This dessert is a winner ❤❤
And I bet she will really miss all of you too.

Its going on the menu for 2024. Changing things up❤Thank you Beth
Yes sometimes it's good to "pay homage" but do something a bit different! I hope you enjoy it!
@EntertainingWithBeth i like that the reciple calls for honey and not Karo syrup.
Thank you so very much. It’s absolutely amazing recipe. You are the best.🎉❤
It sounds and looks so good, If I find the time I'll try and make it
What a beautiful tart, Beth, and you look so pretty wearing red, your grace. 🤗🤗🤗
My family loves a traditional pecan pie, and I am very excited to try this one as well
Hope you enjoy it! I think it's even better! Less sweet and more chewiness! :)
@ you recipes always turn out great ! Thank you again

@EntertainingWithBeth 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I wish you all the best in your hunt for either your ingredients or new traditions 😉
I need to make this tart 🤪
But I say that about all your recipe videos 😄
That looks delicious!!!
You can get preiselbeeren jam (cranberries) in Switzerland.
Ahh good to know!!
Delicious!❤

Cranberries are so popular in australia
❤it looks so gooood
Definitely will try it 😋
Can I add fresh cranberries? Do I need to cook it down first before adding them to the nuts?
I don't have canned pumpkin or pumpkin pie spice in my country, and that was never an impediment to make any recipe with pumpkin. Just make your own puree and spice blend, it is even better. As to cranberries, I already bought frozen ones in France, probably it depends on the region, but they have it.
Yes! I am “Mr nuts!!!!”
Beth it’s so good that you are not in US nowadays, you get rid of all these😢😢

Looks delicious. I wonder how hazelnuts would be in the mix?
Oh they would be great too! Just be sure to give them a good whack like the almonds they are harder than the walnuts and cashews. :)
im feeling your pain. I moved from the US to Italy leaving a very stocked kitchen. Lots more to go.
Ahhh yes. But the Italian cuisine isn't such a bad replacement ha! :) Are you cooking Thanksgiving? I feel like getting a Turkey in Italy would be even harder than here in France! Ha!
I am actually going to the states for Thanksgiving to see my grandson. You can get a turkey here. Gallina chickens are fabulours.
also love your recipes
Hi Beth. Can use ready made tart crust buy from the bakery shop?
Oh sure not a problem! You can use store-bought too :) Hope you enjoy!

Beth do you have a PO Box or address we could send you some Thanksgiving staples? 😊
Aww you are so sweet! I actually have been able to find most of it on the French Amazon so fingers crossed it gets here in time ha ha ha
When I was studying abroad, my American friends and I hosted a big Thanksgiving dinner. We were able to get almost everything but cranberries in our small town, and we made escalopes de dinde instead of a whole turkey. It was one of the best Thanksgivings of my life!
Looks great. The portion was way too big. Just a thin slice with ice cream is more than enough.
😋😋😋
