- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2011 Dodge Durango Citadel 5.7. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this suv while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this suv designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

So you can smack the lil kids acting up in the back row in the head. With the push of a button!

My mom owns a black 2011 Dodge Durango Citadel and it's a really nice car, especially with the HEMI in it.
+MAGNUM05 Your mother was a smart woman to purchase it. I really don't even see why people to Toyota or Honda when Chrysler makes a much better SUV in the same class. Everything feels cheap in a Honda or Toyota. It also looks outdated compared to this.

I have a 2011 Dodge Durango Citadel that we bought brand new in May 2011 shortly before I graduated from high school. It's a good car. It's finished of with the Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl exterior and black leather interior. As of 2022, it only has 45,000 miles on it. The original 5.7L HEMI V8 is still going strong. Plus, it still has the original tires from the factory that are still going strong as well. However, there will eventually come a time where all the original tires will need to be replaced. The car was driven locally through out most of 11 years of it's life. The only time we'd take the car on longer drives is if we're going on vacation trips. 2011 was a new redesign for the Durango as it goes into it's 3rd generation. The 1st generation was made from 1998 to 2003. The 2nd generation was made from 2004 to 2009. There are no 2010 year models. The 3rd generation started in 2011 and it's still going on today. The 3rd generation has lasted much longer than the first two generations.

Reason being you're very thorough, knowledgeable and have obviously done your research about the particular model and company. All of your reviews are stellar! The reason I've decided to place my first comment ever on youtube is to ask you to do a review for me. I'm going to be purchasing a vehicle in the near future and the vehicles I'm debating between you do not have reviews on. This was very disappoint seeing as how you're the only person I will turn to for my advice and review on the auto industry. IF, it is possible, could you do a review on my first choice, the 2014 dodge durango R/T? I would love to see it and it would help ever so much when it comes time for my decision. The other vehicle I would love to see that I'm also considering 2nd is BMW X6.

I recently bought a Durango and it's awesome! I get better fuel economy than my friend that has a Highlander Limited. I was really hesitant to buy one because I've always had Japanese vehicles but I could not be more satisfied! I have to give props to Dodge because I have never seen a Chrysler-based vehicle this nice ever!!!
Take out the button and you'll see a manual ignition you can just stick the key fob in.

I saw a white one for the very first time a week ago here in Raleigh, N.C. I sat in my car looking at it because it looked like a Durango, which I now know it was, but never knew there was one called a Citadel. It looked like a new car. Whoever had it took great care of it. Thanks for the video. I was going crazy wondering what it was. Lol.

the back seat also reclines which trust me. if you are on a road trip helps ... would like to see you do a crew model. it would be great. and a drive test.

@rockerdriver you won't know until you seen it, feel it in person and do a test drive. Honestly I've owned imports for quite awhile but after seeing the new Durango I was impressed with the quality built into this suv. If your worried about the price of gas then this vehicle is not the right one for you....better get Prius!!!!
@ouwat4life Never mind he explained it in the vid. laser guided cruise control. The r/t front bumper looks even better then the citadel. thats if u were going for a more sporty look. I saw one today at dodge and i fell in love. This truck is class

This really is a huge improvement from the last generation. But personally I'd get it with the tan cream interior. looks SO much nicer

This looks a lot better than the 2004-2007. But nothing beats the 1997-2003. Still, an improvement.

Great looking vehicle in the front. Looks a little too similar to a GMC Acadia in the rear. Overall a great crossover though.

i actually like that its a crossover, because the past generation only looked good in certain trims, in lower trims those gray bumpers and door handles were hideous. this one looks good in all trims

Is the 5.7 recommended if you don't do towing? I mean it's good power but is it worth dropping 3MPG for more power?

Its not as off-road able as the Jeep version of this platform, but I'd still do some light and easy stuff in it. The first gens like I have can pretty much go anywhere though, but I still don't do anything crazy, don't want to damage my baby!
this new design has to grow on me although they did do a good job on it

I drive a 2002 Durango and I love it but someday im going to be getting one of these! They are awesome! The R/T is the one I would get though. I dont really like the citadel trim. Awesome review Kyle!

@Xboxlivemgear True, the Genesis is a fantastic vehicle, especially for the price. But I wouldn't go as far as saying that it's as good as a 3 series. The 10k aren't always just for the badge ;)

@rudi2122 Park engages a parking pin in the transmission, and keeps the vehicle from rolling. Neutral disengages the gears and allows the wheels to move freely (same as a manual trans)
