Man I couldn’t disagree more with every point in this review, except for the price, it is quite expensive, even all the Amazon reviews are much higher for this new mount vs the old one, many people had issues with the old mount falling off entirely. I think the new black one looks a thousand times better than the old white and silver chonky brick that won’t match most car interiors. Your case is the biggest issue with it not holding, you have a third party “MagSafe compatible” case but not an actual MagSafe case, the difference being the magnets are actually built into the case, a 1.2 meter cable should be more than enough for most people, a standard iPhone cable is only 1 meter. And everyone’s car vent is different, so maybe for your car this isn’t so good.
Just purchased it today and all I can say is that it is superb. Im using it with my 13 pro max with speck magsafe clear case and it instantly stick to my belkin boost magsafe charger. The magnets are so strong you will think it will break the charger itself lol.
It's ironic ? the 13 Pro max the magnet are really strong for the weight of 13 PM ? i have this but i'm affraid with the power of magnet in this video ?
I just bought the Belkin Boost Charge MagSafe Wireless Car Charger and I can disagree with the review. With the original iPhone 12 MagSafe case, it's a really strong hold and it never fell even on really heavy bumps. Charging speed is ok. The only issue is that sometimes you have to tilt it to have it back to perfect position. Overall, it's a great product in my opinion.
Thanks for the review. To be fair to Apple, your phone has a case that does not seem to have MagSafe built in (I could be wrong), which explains why it doesn't stick to the mount very well.
Thanks for the comment - but in fact, I have a MagSafe compatible case (It's from a 3rd party company called Pitaka), which works with all of my Apple MagSafe accessories, so I wouldn't see that as a problem. It was definitely more of an issue with the Belkin mount itself. And I'd also have to say that most likely, 90% of people will have a case on their phone, so it was worth me showing the review with that on.
@@TrendingReviews Pitaka, to doniel’s point, is “MagSafe compatible” but not a MagSafe case. MagSafe cases have a second set of magnets doubling the strength.
At that price point, I hesitated to recommend it for a friend in need of an iPhone compatible car/vent mount. But when I saw it came with the 20W 12v charger AND cable, it seemed like an OK deal. iFriend is very happy with it.
My case is a MagSafe case from a 3rd Party, not Apple, but is made to be compatible with MagSafe accessories, so I expected it to work better. But aside from the magnetic hold, it was just the lightweight design that didn't allow me to angle the mount in a specific position, it just drops.
@@TrendingReviews Yes third party cases just arent that great, my friend has one and he can't get the charging to work on my belkin desktop mount. You should really try it with the apple case, works perfectly.
The problem is you need a Rolls Royce or Bently for better USB-C slots for the more convenient placement use of the car mount. Cheap Range Rover drivers.
I do have this product for over a year and I have never had this problem, and I used it with cases and the phone by itself and that doesn’t happen. I wonder why would be, but is the best that I have try
Dude, which case are you using? And I mean which brand and model? Seems lile a pitaka case to me? Some of the older Pitaka magez cases are NOT compatible with the Magsafe system. I know because I had this exact issue. Only the Pitaka magez3 or later cases do support the Magsafe system fully.
Instead of taking off the MagSafe charger and twisting and turning and placing it horizontally on the vent, cant you just rotate the iPhone to a horizontal position? Since it's MagSafe, it should hold. Same concept as the Moft Magsafe Wallet when in Kickstand and floating mode.
From all the reviews on youtube, you are the only one who is saying is not strong, i think you need to buy original case for your phone or to try it without your 3rd party case 😉
He didn’t understood the Magsafe feature correctly, but if you know what you are doing (no case or Magsafe case obviously…) both mount and charger will hold a iPhone 13 Pro Max no problem even on big bumps on the road (I have tested both in my old 1997 VW Jetta with pretty hard suspension coils and as I said I have the big boy iPhone 13 Pro Max that is super heavy on the magnets). Still a nice video to see what are the different colors and size differences between the two, but don’t listen to what he is saying about the Magsafe capabilities because his iPhone is not suitable for Magsafe in any applications (in a car or other uses of Magsafe…) I would say if you have 35£ for the mount go ahed and cash out 10£ extra to have a true wireless setup in your car, it’s much worth it and the most convenient way of having it in my experience. Have a nice day! :)
@@TrendingReviews MagSafe compatible is NOT the same as certified, "made for MagSafe" products which are made differently and officially licensed products. There is a difference.
Just dont get why the white one (even sold in Apple Store) still doesnt have Magsafe charger. Maybe because it cannot give out 15W as per MagSafe standard.
Isn't this magsafe certified by apple... that's going to cost Belkin alot of money, which increases the price but also increase wireless charging power
Why noone manages to do a car mount + charger officially certified « Made For MagSafe » ? Seems there is a technical issue . You’ll find billions of MagSafe COMPATIBLE ( 7,5 W ) but nothing 100% official ( 15 W )
I got today one and it hold extremely strong if you are using the recommended magsafe case. It seems you are not using an original magsafe case this is why it keeps faling. Luckily i checked another review which the person was using a magsafe case.
Has anyone had a problem where you mount your phone to car mount and the magsafe animation doesn't play? I've got an iPhone 14pro and the animation pops up fine on my indoor charger. Could this be something to do with my car too? I'm driving a micra
Is there a Wireless Charger / Wireless Apple CarPlay / Mag Safe Mount for the car? Does it exist? It would be cool to mount my 12 Pro Max to a MagSafe car mount and have it wirelessly charge and perform wireless Apple carplay.
@@TrendingReviews i have this one as well... im finding that the heat doesnt reach the back of my velar. Which vent and how wouod you place the car mount to get optimal heat reaching the back of the cabin?
This guy either doesn’t know what he’s doing or has an agenda. (1) addition of wireless charging is the biggest difference, but he just skated over that. (2) with Apple MagSafe case, iPhones hold very strong, and the older white one is too big if you have one of the smaller models. (3) lightweight and smaller while performing just as well is an advantage, not a disadvantage. (4) in order to rotate phone without straining vents or removing and re-attaching vent holder, all you have to do is to slightly loosen the nut securing the ball to the vent-holder; it can be dialed-in to correct rigidity, this is not rocket science.
