    They sound wonderful and play even better. Yamaha is seriously underrated.

    Looks like a super versatile guitar. Bridge humbucker with coil-split, locking tuners, classic tremolo that isn't a Floyd Rose (I don't really like Floyd Rose as you can't easily change tunings quickly without modifying the guitar). I'm definitely getting one!

    I was recently roaming the mean streets of Bend, Oregon when I was approached by a bearded young man in tight pants who said "Hey Bro! have you heard ther his a limited edition Pacifica that is upgraded and available in 2018??? Its fantastic!" I looked at him, smiled and said "Little man, I have no idea what any of that means but thank you for your passion." and backed away slowly as he seemed somewhat unhinged.

    My favourite guitar is a Yamaha Revstar. Would be fun to try the Pacifica 612 some day :)

    Back in the 90s, I owned a Pacifica 1221M. Best guitar I ever owned. I played it until the neck nearly fell off (yeah, too much Steve Vai tricks and stage abuse back then... if I only knew then what I know now). Not sure how - based on availability - but I really really want one of these 612 models. Yamaha really doesn't compromise quality.

    I play 600 series. I swap out the Custom 5 bridge pickups. The Duncan 59 Custom Hybrid works better. The 59 coil has better mids for rock leads but it still has the Cutom coil that sounds great in single coil mode.

      I mean, I own and love one. Rivals some big name $800 or $900 models but perhaps I am biased.

    I was looking at a Revstar Std but now I’m thinking this might be a the way to go. SD pickups, the bridge, tuners etc, great build quality. Hard to decide though. Revstar is gorgeous too

    1. What are the difference among the PAC612VIIFM; PAC612VIIFMX; and PAC612VIIX?
    2. How much in US dollars?
    3. Are these made in Japan?
    Thank you.

    Is the 612 Wilkinson bridge as solid & reliable for holding tuning as the 611 Hard tail bridge ? (which holds tuning all night)

      Indonesia. I have the PAC 611 model, also built there, and it is fantastic. I also have a few other MII, and each one is right up there in quality and tone.
      (BTW, I own waaay too many guitars, PRS Cores, etc. so I'm able to make a pretty fair comparison.)

    • @MrEstpas71

      The string tree for the D and G string is not neccesary anyway. You'll never get the strings out of the nut while bending!

  • @9unslin9er
    @9unslin9er 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I love the Pacifica, but those Wilkinson Bridge and Grover Mini Locking tuners need to go.
    If they just move to a Gotoh 510 trem + Magnum lock staggered tuners, you would essentially have a Suhr guitar at a fraction of the cost. Make it happen Yamaha!

      I'm thinking of buying this guitar. Isn't Wilkinson a good bridge? I believe it's the bridge on Andy Timmons Ibanez that costs $3000.

    • @cap.jbcoldyron987
      @cap.jbcoldyron987 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@iganpparamarta8813 It is a good bridge. I don't use it as much as in my ibanez, because it only goes down (I don't know how to say it in english, but you can't make a note higher, only down). But when i use it, it doesn't go out of tune. If you don't use it, you can play this guitar for weeks and you don't have to tune it. Also, very good construction, good looks, incredible sound, easy to tune and adjust... I bought it for 680€, best value for the price in any guitar that i bought, I'm very happy with it.
