- David Adams, the photo-journalist at the center of the film, has to travel through what was a dangerous and pretty unyielding country, starting from Kabul and making a detour round the country to eventually end up just a couple of hundred kilometres north of Kabul. We therefore get to see some of the last footage of the Bamiyan Buddha statues, and their environment in the Bamiyan Valley, before they were blown up by the Taliban.

Just absolutely devastating that the Buddas were blown up. Terrible.
A wonderful documentary of a country destroyed, and for no good reason. So sad seeing what was left 20 years ago but now gone. I weep for those people.

Plural nominative case of Buddha is Buddhas, not Buddha's. The latter is singular possessive, suggesting a person, place, or thing with ownership or a connection to another element in the sentence.

yeah they ruled india for 1000 years with more than 6 different empires !! it was Ghazvanid empires 1015 which was cradle for seljuiks empire , which was cradle of ottomon empire !! ghzanavids empire sultan who ruled from ghazni had all great scientists like al beurini , al khawarzimi , guess what who invented algebra ,they were working on algebra when you were on your dark ages due to fall of roman empires ,again by the hands of muslims , so you came to know about algebra approx 600 years lates then whens afghans were using it !!LOL , further more afghanistan has been placed as a pride breakers from GOD for you imperialists :D british ,soviats,usa all humilated by Afghanistan !!
