This video feels like 1 hour of horroble management decisions at Nintendo.
I don't think Nintendo had anything to do with spending their money on sports cars, tiddy bars, illegal substances, home cinemas, and also generally being massively unfocused and overambitious with games and thousand page documents with convoluted plots. But yeah they did make some bad decisions too.
I’m always blown away by the depth of your research. It’s really cool hearing stories I literally couldn’t hear anywhere else because y’all have translated a magazine that was only published in Japan in like the early 2000’s or something crazy like that. Love these videos!

Its insane to see fans recreate a lost game based on flaky old footage pretty much perfectly. Also, its a shame some of the vids on this channel (as well as dykg) have been taken down, prolly cause of good ol Nintendo not wanting info spilled
nintendo has so many skeletons in their closet and they keep acting like the nice guy thats okay for kids.. ends up bothering me more and more i see nintendo fans never backlash about much compared to other platforms.. it all just looks like lazy greed to me like what ultimately matters to them is sales and fanfare for the least possible risk/effort

Typical toxic Japanese corporate culture, dealing with what they felt was and treated like an overseas subsidiary. We saw something similar with Sega under Tom Kalinsky, how Sega Japan were jealous of Sega America's success. Nintendo probably didn't want them meeting or exceeding Nintendo's own internal teams success, and dealing with a repeat of what happened with Rare.
i cant stand nintendo as time goes on.. theyre only where they are by pushing a bunch of cartoon pokemon and shallow basic cant-go-wrong accessible crap for kids.. before the wii they took chances and catered to a broad audience but now they just do cheap gimmicks and more of the same
as soon as i saw that translated interview where he said smash bro's melee having competitive mechanics as a bad thing i lost so much respect for him like he doesnt care waht the fans want out of the games you play the same kids level crap as ppl with half a brain and you act like its triple A and kiss their ass about 30 year old rehashed basic gameplay

DK returns is a generic shallow basic common affair in terms of platformers but Metroid is full of mood and atmosphere and soul yet nintendo fans go with the cute nostalgic kids crap for the zillionth time
