"With her bee-stung pout and undulating child-woman hips, Pia Zadora..." That poster cracks me up. That's really how they described some film starlet's beauty back then?
I know. In a year where we've had Inception, Four Lions and I would say, Kick-Ass, to raise the likes of Burlesque or the...the-the Tourist seems kinda damning for the Golden Globes.
One of the problems is having a category for a genre (or two). Recognise comedies and musicals, sure, but do it in the Best Picture category if they're that good. It's not like there are a whole lot of musicals to choose from is it? It's stupid to have a category for them. That'd be like having a category for Westerns (where they'd probably nominate Jonah Hex).
Pia Zadora as best newcomer?!?? This reminds me of the late great Bea Arthur, who famously mentioned this anecdote about Zadora's stage performance as Anne Frank in her comedy act having been this awful that "[...] when the SS came to the appartment, the audience rose as one and yelled, 'she's in the attic'"
It should be: Toy Story 3 (WINNER) Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World The Kids Are All Right Kick-Ass (I dunno about the 5th, didn't watch too many comedies this year)
This has the best exposure of the year
Was The Tourist even a musical or comedy?
Those Best Actor nominators for Depp are fucking hilarious.
I was not aware that The Tourist was a comedy, or a musical.

Four Lions, Made in Dagenham, Exit Through the Gift Shop.
Well said Mark.
Give them SOME credit, though. At least they had the sense to exclude Leapy Ear.
Just wait till he sees the nominations for 2011...
This got relevant again
love the intro
They nominate people they want to hang out with...They go with how good the red carpet will look rather than how good the films are.
That was AWESOME!

I can't believe this. I want to cry. I'm going to cr--. Now I'm crying.
What's with the insane saturation?
It could be argued that Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World was the best comedy/musical this year, not that the Golden Globes would recognise that.
So how were Toy Story 3 and Kick-Ass missed out of the Golden Globe for best comedy/MusicaL?
I do like they gave some love to Inception
@BlackMagnumFilms It was only nominated.
It should be:
Toy Story 3 (WINNER)
Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
The Kids Are All Right
Kick-Ass
(I dunno about the 5th, didn't watch too many comedies this year)
I want to know where did this list come from... Who made this???? And really???? Seriously??
my god...just insane.
Did anyone ever actually take any of these awards shows seriously?
Golden Globes....BALLS.
Like how they treated spirited away.
Love the meltdown, Dr K. Kudos to you for acknowledging the worst nominations the GG's have put out.
Inception got four nominations too many. At least none of them are for acting, which would've been a joke.
Aren't the golden globes notoriously bribable? That's how Pia Zadora got her golden globe.
Flappy hands to the max.
Alice in Wonderland was one of the worst movies I'd ever seen. I hate Tim Burton, using his influence to ruin a classic story.
@arieger82
Agreed my man.
Kermode is Overexposed
And in an ideal world, Toy Story 3 would WIN the Best Picture gong, never mind the nomination.
totally agree, nailed it on the head :D
The Golden Globes being rubbish? There's a shock.
wow those nominations were awful
lmao this guy is amazing
these are an absolute joke - a joke that's about as funny as these movies were at that. . .
