Tim Peeing himself laughing at flame anodising, it's been a long day. I get that Tim, just roll with it, sometimes we just have to laugh till we cry and then get on with the work. Peace bro!
Tim, don't be too hard on yourself. You're quite talented, your projects are generally winners, and your channel is entertaining. Every time you feel discouraged while working in your shop, remember there is at least one person watching who is severely handicapped and can't leave my chair to go to my shop which is 30 feet away. Think of people like us, and you'll have nothing worth worrying about!
Wowsers Tim awesome job. Those look really beautiful. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. forge on. Can't wait to see what you thow in the forge next video.
Another great video and another amazing project. Always so proud of you and what you are making be it the video quality or the awesome builds. Keep it up!
Awesome, soon all your tools will be made out of titanium.... you already have the hammer, it will be expensively great if someone would sponsor you for a "Titanium Anvil" it will be a great video content i bet... Watching from Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 with ❤❤❤
Alec Steele should have an already forged out titanium anvil just lying around, they never got to use theirs to forge on top of a mountain because it poses to great of a risk of fire
@Tim, this was a really good video, I enjoyed all of it :-) I especially enjoyed the axe work at the end. and the tongs themselves looked really sharp.
Man I gotta have a pair of those Tim! Too bad you aren’t going to make a ton of them and sell them. They look freakin sick! And they would be about perfect for my knife making. I might have to get me some Titanium and make a pair myself. The trick with forging Titanium is forging hot hot and slower. Anyway great job Tim and thanks for sharing it. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
Titanium Tongs, on Tool Time with Tim! Will it be a smooth and easy project? "I don't think so, Tim." Sorry, couldn't resist ✌️😉 Love the channel, bud!
Aww thats great work you could make aluminum soft jaws in your vice for milling. An cut your own parallels in your jaws give you more rigidity you can use pennies on the uneven surfaces to squish against to hold it tight
Used to party with a guy that did sheet metal repair on U2 spy planes in the Air Force. He had a bottle opener that he made out of some crazy alloy that they use on the U2. Suspect it was a titanium alloy of some type. Very light weight and super strong.
These would be perfect for stained glass "Runners". If there was a little flex in the runner head (I know titanium is some flexible stuff) it would be very sellable. Custom stained glass tool would have a market!! I did stained glass work for years, I worked on some priceless windows and lamps. I would pay for tools I could trust.
I love seeing other people working with TI or harder metals :P Its harder then what people think... Advice for you about the milling is to really clamp the parts down as hard as you can.. If you can move it with a sledge its too loose :P and cool it down a lot and take it slow :) A 0.2mm pass is a huge cut for smaller NC machine if you dont use the proper tools
I can certainly understand you being done with titanium. Based on your videos, and others, I am officially done before even trying it. Steel is enough of a challenge for me right now.
Wow, your videos are outstanding! Really like the production and maybe more specifically the music - especially those first two cuts. Can you mention where the music comes from? Congrats on an outstanding channel, really like your style!
Anyone know a decent plier that can cut titanium alloy. My sister used my Leatherman to cut some and now the wire cutter is kind of jacked up so if there are any suggestions please do tell
@@BloopTube yep I know that you shouldn't use a multitool to cut ti but I didn't know she was going to use it for that. On another note thanks a lot man for telling me about the warranty it's my dad's old Leatherman so I was a bit worried
When i forged some titanium box jaw tongs (admittedly much worse looking than your tongs haha) a while back I found the scale to be a killer to the face of everything it touched. Have you had this issue forging titanium?
I think that wrinkly surface texture is from the outer skin cooling off and not moving as fluidly as the hotter core. At least that how it seemed to be when I tried forging since titanium.
Were you using that titanium hammer with those titanium songs I seen that you have titanium really does look like when you're fortunate by hammer it looks like you're almost hitting like cold steel it just does not move very much but I do like the point that there's like zero slag that's always nice but you're paying a hell of a price for that
How's that hammer working for you? I remember hearing somewhere that Titanium in general is too light to be used in any form of hitting implement, but since you actually HAVE one it feels prudent for me to ask.
I have a Ti hammer myself and it's weird working with it, it feels kind of fake and like totally the wrong tool for the job, but it gets the job done nicely, controls well and barely requires me to swap hands on long work cycles
Theres no going around it this time. I need a NEW PHONE! Hahaha
It got the old ax lol
If you happen to forge an axe of titanium, I want to see another phone destroyed. Will be well worth it ;)
@@bryanmartin2943 he did that.

Those tongs came out DOPE!!!! Love the anodized look. And holy cow that axe cut that phone so cleanly in half!!! I'm gunna need one of those axes lol
Loved the bit with the axe at the end
Tongs turned out beautiful, but the ax you made i`ts a masterpiece Timothy
Perfect! Really a good job Tim! And very useful thing as well, light weight, tough and red heat resistant!
We know you love titanium it’s an addiction you’ll never quit! Looks great Tim!

Ti is a tough metal to work. It gives back though. Light, strong and doesn't rust. Those tongs are so nice they belong in a dentists office! 👍
If I were at a dentist‘s and they laid out those tongs on the table next to me, I think I‘d faint. 😅
Those turned out sweet, love some burnt titanium.
That call was cut short!! Axe up already Tim!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣😎😎
That bolt was a nice touch. I'll be interested to know how it works out for you down the road.
Pretty impressive my friend.
impressive lathe skills

Sweet! How does it forge, like tool steel or softer. I haven't tried it yet and might have just enough to go for it.. Thanks Tim!!

is grade 5 titanium really that prone to cold shuts?

Can you explain why it's called flame anodising one more time, and slower please?
So why titanium, it’s cool but do you have a specific reason/use for these tools?
Love the tongs mate they look awesome .
But Tim anger management clarses are
cheaper then phones. (:
Imagine it cracked from forging too cold?
Few that I know that forge with it say they only use the upper heat ranges.
Yes on to some steel! So sick and tired of all the titanium on TH-cam lately!

started a new job with titanium scrap. made a sweet cold chisel that would cost buckos for sure.
