New Mexico’s Josh Kerr broke the NCAA 1500m record on Friday night, running 3:35.01 at the 2018 Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California. The mark eclipsed Sydney Maree’s 3:35.30 that had stood since 1981.

What's crazy is Jakob Ingebrigsten ran 6 seconds faster, at age 20.
I was running down in Abq once on the Paseo del Bosque trail, doing a tempo run like 6 minute pace, thinking I was going quick, then some tall white dude comes flying past me and guess who. Kerr's a beast.

@@jonasf4065 Ran some miles and 1500 in college but he races 5k and 10k at worlds. He also ran an 800 or two in high school. Does that make him an 800-5k guy now?
@@800metre He just ran a pro 1500. He's run more 1500s than 10000s.
Also, IAAF lists him as a 1500, 5000 runner. Also, if he's a 10,000 runner the maybe he may want to consider quitting as his PR is 29:46, so basically 30 seconds slower than a woman.

Just for Fun my high school classmate ran a 3:35.84 for William & Mary back in 95. It was the fastest 1500 meter time in the world that year. That was the collegiate record for quite a few years, until it was finally broken.

Just for Fun Yes He did. Injuries unfortunately got to him by the time the Olympics started. He ran the qualifying races, but didn’t make the finals. He ran a 4:10 in the mile in HS.
