    The church bought a 20 inch stratus crash to replace a broken 17 inch evolution crash. The stratus is magic. Particularly the 20 inch crash, it reminds me of an HHX Fierce crash at $110 less. Go with stratus. You won’t be disappointed.

    I've played these at my local drum shop...they are really nice..15" Hats are my favs, 18" crash... and 22" Ride... but honestly, Sabian really scored with those 15" hats. I'm interested to see if they come out with a 'pack'..... Sold value and a package deal would probably be even better Finally .... really nice demo...

    Great demo and I like the sound of these. I thought they were being marketed as 'entry level' B20s, which would replace the XSR line. Too big of a price jump for that to be the case though.

    Like everything except the ride cymbals. I like more stick definition. Sabian make great cymbals that will last a lifetime. So really when you figure how long cymbals will last, their expense is really not that bad. Most good B20 Bronze cymbals will last and sound good 50+ years. So the cymbal pack runs around $900, divide by 40 years and that $22 a year. It's just saving up for that upfront cost.Always nice hearing about a new line of cymbals from Sabian.

    I love Sabian, but this is a very odd product line in my opinion. As always with mid-shelf gear the price is not really that budget friendly for the quality you get. The sound is not that great, the logo and hammering is kinda goofy and amateurish looking. At sweetwater prices 14/16/18/20 set of stratus is 1,178$. And then, the top-of-the-line, beautiful sounding, crazy versatile, professional 14/16/18/20 set of HHX Complex is 1,360$. But let's make the prices even more comparable - I would 100% spare one crash and get 15/19/22 set of HHX Complex for 1,180$. The cymbals you won't be ashamed of at any live or studio gig, that will last you forever, with higher resell value. The quality gap here is enormous.

    • @presterjack9764
      @presterjack9764 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ridiculous comparison. If you use your ears rather than your eyes, Stratus is as good as any HHX or AAX line other than the Complex. It's crazy that you're even comparing them to the Complex which are Sabian's best line. The price comparison is not fair since you're comparing Sweetwater's Stratus bundle with HHX Complex cymbal packs from Sabian, which have a bigger discount. Compare individual cymbal prices and the difference is much bigger. Furthermore, Stratus is thinner than HHX Complex, so if you want thin hi-hats or rides, I would still consider the Stratus over HHX.

    • @don8635
      @don8635 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah i dont think so, they sound pretty bad, very boring and dont even come close to better sabian stuff. And im not comparing single cymbals, im comparing price of kits because its more realistic to me, buying single stratus cymbals would really be useless in terms of prices.

      A good salesperson never leads with the price of gear. 😂 but seriously it’s kinda a CYA move because of price changes down the road. That way someone 2 years from now can’t yell at their Sweetwater guy about the price that they were listed for in the video.

    Sabian needs to quit messing around, and give the people what we really want. Give us the 24" Complex Thin Ride. The AA Bash Ride being the only 24" option they offer is a real head scatcher, and all of the demo videos I've seen for it sound like absolute garbage. Why every other cymbal manufacturer has multiple options for rides at this size, but Sabian doesn't is beyond me. If a young/aspiring drummer looking to make the jump from beginner cymbals to something more high quality asked me what they should get, I'd tell them to go with Meinl. They seem to be much more in touch with what people actually want.

    I don't think sabian needed this line. They need some cymbals for METAL drummers! Since they changed the aax line and discontinued the METAL cymbals they really have pretty much nothing for Metal players.
    Paiste have always and continue to have good offerings for Metal players, Meinl try to be open to Metal players. It's really disappointing that Sabian seem to be turning their back to Metal players.

    • @isihernandez9752

      I don't know any cymbal that ain't a _metal_ cymbal... usually bronze.
      Now that the joke is done, seriously, what do you understand for "cymbals for metal"?. You can play metal with pretty much any cymbal you want, including Sabian's. You don't need them to be labeled as "metal". If you're meaning bright cymbals, you can pick a variety of AAs and AAXs, but you can also use darker cymbals for metal, if that's your taste.

    • @mdmusic2874
      @mdmusic2874 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      What genre of metal? What cymbal sound? There's no such thing as metal cymbals. If you mean bright cutting cymbals Sabian has tons and tons of bright cutting cymbals in their line.
      They haven't turned their back on metal drummers. Metal drumming has changed
