My favorite track…was an hour and a half from our home and grew up eating French fries playing at the campground and watching the races. Nothing like it. I live in Florida now I do miss the grove
Yeah , back in the day at Claremont Speedway, Alf Barbagello and Ray Geneive would roll down the back straight bumping tyres before the flag to start the race. Then ( NO Noise restrictions on the exhaust systems)the flag dropped , the incredible sound from the Super modified cars was insane. It was the late 60s, I'm talkin time wise, memorable times it was. Thanks dad for taking us there every Friday night of the season. Choice vid , cheers from West Oz🍻🦘🇦🇺👍
That's a great area to watch. I like it more down to your left where the cars come off the track. Right where they're leaving turn 4. You can feel the horsepower in your feet.
I’ve always wanted to race my whole entire life man someday mark my words I will have at least a street stock or 4 cylinder but even if someone gave me a chance to drive one of these for a day for free I’m saying no 😂 can’t even make a clean lap on iracing
Probably safer then being outside the track. Cars seldom crash into the infield, they are more likely to go over the outside fence. Good vantage point too.
Track record average speed is 125. They lose a lot of speed in those turns so to grab that average, straightaway speeds are easy 145. You gotta stand on that backstretch infield and then you’d be a believer.
@@gsracing9879 Average speed for the track record at Williams Grove is just a tick over 114mph. No way the Sprints are doing anything close to 150mph at the Grove.
@rodlamport1702 They definitely do touch around 140-150 easily, at the end of the straightaways. They have to slow down so much through the turns, its not much longer than maybe a few tenths of a second that they hit that speed. Between slowing for the turn and the gear you have to run at that track, it takes a bit to hit that speed. You just said avg. speeds are right around 115, they don't do 115 consistently the entire way around the track. They go well above that number on the straights and well below that number through the turns. It's a paperclip track, what do you expect?
Track record is 16.089. I've been to the grove and it is a big paperclip. I doubt that they get much over 130-135 on the straights because they have to shut it down.
It's a Wing actually! It's sticks the car to the ground by producing down force, lots of it, it's like increasing the weight of the car, but not adding any actual weight to the car. The air flows above and beneath a wing, where as a spoiler air flows only over one surface usually the top. And they do add drag, but helps the cars stick in the corners so its worth it. Or maybe you knew that!
@@DavidGravel awesome, sounds and looks amazing!! Not that you need to hear this from me or anyone but your doing a helluva job and love watching all you guys…
Them guys got balls of steel
Absolutely
Sure do
Yah they do i can not imagine being in that car

I agree ,shaped like a paper clip. Long straightaways bad ass. Live 1 hr away. Grew up near Eldora great track, but the grove is the best!
Dude racetrack French fries just hit different too. With the ketchup in the corner so you get like 3 that are just RUINED with 'chup. Good times lol
What control.. Knoxville must be even faster
Not too much faster actually but momentum is a factor so probably
Ohh yeah Love the sound and sights of Sprintcars ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I like down at the end of pit road coming into turn 1. Cool to see the vapor trails sometimes.
@@kenngrim6984 yeah I've been there too. Right near the tunnel. Great spot as well
Reminds me of the days when Doug Wolfgang used to drive the hell out of his weikerts livestock 29 car . Geeze he was insanely fast.
Legendary guy as well. I was around him a bit when I was a kid at the races, he was always super cool to me. I rode dirt bikes with his son Robbie.
Dave is the MAN💰🫵🏿💪🏿

When you send it!

Why does the sound in front of the car sound different behind the car ?
Doppler effect.
100% sure I would not be standing on the infield haha

Fun to stand in the infield close to turn 3 and watch them come down the backstretch under the bridge.
DAMN!!!!
Little over 100mph.. 150 is a bit exaggerated
Nascar on drugs
Makes NASCAR look like a joke and I'm a longtime, now disgruntled NASCAR fan.
sprint day is 4/10. Wednesday
Love Dirt Track Races Nascar has nothing on these racers
Se ladio
I don't care who you are, if that don't take your breath away (seeing hearing and Feeling it, in person), you're inhuman.
That ain’t 150 bro sorry to tell ya
Yeah bud it is. If not, damn close.
Williams Grove Speedway
Mechanicsburg, PA
410 Sprint Car look up average speeds
Through the turn, no.. You scrub some speed. But going into that turn he was without a doubt doing right around 150

Pushing near 150 last summer. Mid 140s for sure
maybe 150kmh
Bro they go way faster than 99mph but it’s not 150 tho so I get it
How big do you want you spoiler
