    I find that my 2022 Trance +0 is very similar to your bike although 10 lbs lighter. I'm 75 YO and have one knee replacement. With a motorcycle racing background, I found that this bike handles much more like a motorcycle than a bicycle. Once I adjusted my cornering style, I truly began to enjoy the shear speed that the Trance is capable of. This bike is a rocket ship and I remain in the Strava top 10 fastest men for the year on my local single track blue trails riding in the middle "trail" mode. When I go on group rides, the E-bike has allowed me to ride in the "front" group and I like the fact that no-one has to stop and wait on me! I've got 900 miles on my bike now and usually take the battery out to charge it every 2 months and give the contacts on the bike side a cleaning. I run OneUp oval carbon bars, Crank Brothers Mallet clipless petals, PNW oversize grips, and, an Ergon SM comp seat. I only got 500 miles out of the original chain before it hit the dreaded .5 wear. I replaced it with the factory MTD EBike chain as I don't think a X12 would last. Happy Trails!

      Thanks! I did a cross country race on it in the eMTB category and it is crazy fast in top assist and really putting the whip to myself - pretty violent over big root clusters and other things at speeds I wouldn't hit on my other bikes.

    Great, down to earth and genuine review. Gives you the info we really want, not a load of market gumph. Thanks for taking the time to make this!

    Great video thanks, and an awesome looking trail!
    I ride exactly the same bike, 22 Trance X E+2 Pro 29er in sapphire blue, here in Cape Town area of South Africa, where we are lucky to have some of the best trails in the country.
    Stock bike (no dork disc, with bell) except for Deity grips. Super happy with this bike after upgrading from the 22 Stance E+1 Pro. I prefer the lower flip chip setting though, for a little added stability, I find that there is very little compromise on the climbs. This bike is so capable going up, which is one of the top reasons why I opted for this model.
    For the amputee riders out there, I am a LTK amp and this bike is about the best out there for someone in this situation, due to the stability and mountain goat climbing ability. I did a lot of research before settling on this bike, taking into account my physical (dis)abilities.
    I do long distance gravel and trail combo rides, and with a spare 625 battery it's good for 100km (around 60 miles).
    Very happy, and it's built like a tank, so should be good for years to come.
    Fantastic value for money, very well built, super capable, and with Giant all round support it makes this a very compelling choice.
    Would be nice to see a 1000 mile or more test down the line?

      Thanks! I'm on my way to 1000 miles and plan to update then. Not sure if I'll hit it this year but we are getting into fall season where I get out more - just had a couple weeks with 100+ temps and even on an eMTB I'm not riding in that. That trail is Cliff Cave Park in St Louis County, Missouri - one of my favorites in our area, especially since I have a lot of sweat-equity in it as a volunteer trail builder/GORC member (gorctrails.com)

    Thanks for video , I’m looking at my first purchase now, no issues with health etc but I’m really enjoying my current cheap MTB and looking to go e-bike i already see I’d be riding 2-4 more times and longer

      Hope it helps! Just had another weekend of riding and ready for more on the weeknights! Just the sheer amount of repetition the eMTB facilitates is really making a difference in progression.

    You can use a full size water bottle with a "side entry" bottle mount ;-)

    • @MTBPerspective
      @MTBPerspective  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cage I have is supposed to be side entry but it really needs to angle in from the top a bit to go in - I may try something else - brand suggestion? I did notice with normal bottles, they tended to either rub the bottom of the top tube or the shock would rub the bottom of the bottle. I had a mid size bottle I was using for.a while but the shock rubbed a hole through the bottom.

    Nice video, l am 64 and on the fence about buying my first Ebike. Thinking of getting a Trance Advanced E + Elite 2
    LBS is selling them on sale for $4875, seems like a great deal.

    • @MTBPerspective
      @MTBPerspective  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not gotten rid of any bikes (12 now) but the Trance E+ is getting almost all the rides, especially days I'd normally skip due to heat or just "not feeling it" .
      If you have not test ridden one on a trail, try and do that before buying - even if you have to rent one for a day somewhere. I knew I enjoyed riding ebike on a greenway from my wife and I renting them on a trip (and then getting our own almost immediately after getting home). I did the same thing with an eMTB on a trip just to make sure I would be ok with the longer travel, heavier, etc format. Didn't take long after getting home to get the Trance.

    My new 2023 Trance x e-2 20mph came with DEAD battery charger. Customer service stinks. I was told by the dealer that they'll have replacements by Week 31. FYI this is week 27! A month (or more) for a e-bike that has 2 hours riden on it for $5000!!! WTF???? Customer service my ass!

    Do you still feel the same about your bike? Seriously considering this bike. Do you store it in any particular way? Bring the battery inside in the winter? Do a yearly maintenance on it? I’m new to bikes forgive me

    • @MTBPerspective
      @MTBPerspective  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Additional thoughts on 1000+ mile review video but short answer is yes - still glad I got this bike. I keep it inside on an enclosed porch but in winter take the battery inside the house. I keep the chain/drivetrain clean lubed and just replaced the rear brake pads. I do have new tires for it to be installed soon.

    Hello. I don’t have a store nearby where I could try this bike, so I wanted to know what frame size you have and how much it weighs? and if the battery is dead, is there a lot of resistance from the motor when you drive without an assistant?

    • @MTBPerspective
      @MTBPerspective  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mine is a Large but it totally depends on your size which frame size would fit you best. Weighs out right at 57 lbs as ridden. I've ridden it with the motor off and it rides like a normal bike but obviously heavier. YMMV but the battery has always outlasted me.

      @@MTBPerspective Thanks for the answer. My height is 186 cm, will XL suit me?

    • @MTBPerspective
      @MTBPerspective  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I went by the sizing guide on Giant's site: www.giant-bicycles.com/us/trance-x-eplus-2-pro-29er-20mph-2022
      Also depending on your arms/legs length vs overall height may affect sizing. 186 on the giant size chart shows right in the Large range. XL starts at 187cm

    what kind of fit does it have? More sporty or more upright? And what is your height and frame size?

    • @MTBPerspective
      @MTBPerspective  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      More upright than my XC oriented Giant Anthem
      I'm 6' but my arms/legs are more like the length for someone 6'4". A large fits me fine but I've ridden XL with no issue. Brands vary a bit on sizing so always try one/get fitted before buying.

    It sounds loud, but is that only when you're giving it the beans? I'm riding a geared hub drive now and it's almost silent unless you just wide open.

    • @MTBPerspective
      @MTBPerspective  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wouldn't go by this audio too much - GoPro tends to pick up certain frequencies louder than they really are in person.
      I've ridden with other eMTB motors - Shimano, Bosch, and Tongsheng - all mid-drive - all about the same volume.

    Is the battery removable or fixed?

    • @MTBPerspective
      @MTBPerspective  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Removable. Bottom of the down tube snaps off after removing a thumb screw. Then a torx bit to release the battery lock. Sounds harder than it is. Accepts different size batteries if someone wants a bigger or smaller battery. Also has the option of a 250 range extender that can mount where the bottle cage goes and just plugs in the charge port.

      @lawrencekennedy1123 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      does the giant app allow you to set the amount of torque and support for each riding mode or is it all fixed and not changeable?

    • @MTBPerspective
      @MTBPerspective  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In the app you can customize each assist level to have the power delivered differently. I have not changed mine at all, very content with the profiles they have setup.@@lawrencekennedy1123
