31:05 - I can't agree with you here. Unlike Russia, you are a democracy. And democracy means the power is in the hands of the people. Now I'm not trying to make it sound as if acting upon understanding that is easy. But I truly believe the passive position of "we don't have a choice" is very dangerous. I see the presence of civic responsibility as the main difference between us (ukrainians) and russians. When we don't like our government - we fight back and change it. They do nothing.
Thanks you for all the support. You do have a choice.

I can agree about democracy at that point, but then he explains that he means that the world is ruled by old crazy heads, these are his words, and these people reason in other terms (not honor, justice, honesty), but by geopolitical calculations, whether certain actions and events have some specific strategic significance and which ones there will be consequences.

@@МаркМерзляков-ы3и of course. And one of the currencies they cold-heartedly manage is the support of the people. Cause most of those in power want to stay in power and in democracies people decide if they do. This is where understanding that you have that control really matters on every individual level, because firstly - it only works in numbers and those numbers always have to start from someone. Secondly, truly believing that this democratic control is your right as a people is crucial for the moments, when democratic institutes becomes less stable. Only believing that you had something will make you fight for it when it is being taken away from you. On the other hand thinking you never controlled anything in the first place will bred no motivation to hold on to anything and let democracy slip away. What I am trying to say is this belief is important, because it's more of an instrument to make democracy even work, than it is the reflection of reality.

@@real8304, 100%! In democracies, if you don't like your government or president you, have the option to change them every 4 years. Politicians in democracies have no choice but to listen to their potential voters and at least sometimes make people's lives better. Otherwise, no one will vote for them.
On the other hand, dictator doesn't give a sh!t about people, because no one initially decides who will be the next ruler but dictator himself. There is no other ruler at all!
So putting an = sign between politicians in democracies (even if they are the worst politicians ever) and dictatorships is a big mistake.

I live in Kherson, yes, yes, on the front line. I was here during the occupation. I stay here now because I'm always helping, I'm a volunteer. Thank God! Thanks to the soldiers who liberated the city! I remember the day we were liberated, I couldn't believe it. It was 11.11.22. Then there were hopes that the liberation would continue, but it's happening very slowly. Then there was a flood because russian soldiers destroyed the dam. Daily shelling continues 24/7, but we're fighting! Thank you for talking about us! Thank you for remembering us! Thank you for helping us! Because Ukraine is now an outpost. Good will triumph over evil! Glory to Ukraine!

Well, one of the drinks was a Zombie... which I suppose if it's the same as here (I can only speak for Germany, Poland and Portugal, didn't drink it anywhere else) it's an ungodly mixture with some juices and/or sweet alcohol to blunt the initial punch.
As for the feel.. I can't truly tell that I *know* how it feels, but I had tales from both my grandparents on both sides who had seen "the War" and told me of it and in the '90s my late father was in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina with German medical assistance who pretty much told me it was the same or very similar.
And the insane truth that might not resonate with all US-Americans is that if we let Ukraine loose this war, I firmly believe *this* will be the war we will be fighting 10 years down the road on the plains of Poland and in the mountains of Romania.
There's a reason why Poland is pushing to be *the* military power on the eastern EU border and maybe even we here (Germany) will get our shit together at some point, we have the military industry and we *need* to be, to use a historical phrase, an "Arsenal of Freedom" at least if we can't get our head out of our but in time.
It's disturbingly true that we have to rely on Poland's armoured fist, very much like the Holy Alliance had to rely on the Polish Winged Hussars at Vienna in 1683, and we need to be prepared to at the *very least* to bring our defence industry up to snuff again (production wise, innovation wise and tech wise they're still world class) to be prepared to supply the Western and European forces.
    Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦
    Heroiam slava! 🇺🇦
    Best regards

    1. Ukraine is not about being sad, but about fighting for freedom and being happy during hard times.
    2. If you knew russian language and could understand what russians talk to each other, you would hear that every second of them wants to occupy territories of any neighbouring country. Many russians see the USA as an enemy.
This war could come to an end with Ukraine's victory, if enough ammunition were provided for Ukraine, but no it's not happening because many people in the USA are just afraid of russia.

Well I dont know what the news is saying in your country , but in mine (and most of the time our media can NOT be trusted) we are hearing almost everyday - Russia wants World War 3 - and will use Nukes, we hear if they beat Ukraine, they will attack Poland, Germany and even maybe England - we also are hearing China and Russia are beginning to disagree on everything and soon that will be a conflict - Over here we are shown on Maps where Russia would hit us with Nukes if we had World War III. you either believe what you hear or you say to your self , its all BS and the Media is trying to scare everyone. who knows.

    • @tinnasell4161
      @tinnasell4161 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@ReactionsbyD Media is a very useful tool to mobilize masses. If it looks like it tries to make everyone scared than it is likely the goal. The only real question is why the government whants us to be scared. It is either for its own benefit (which is correct most of the time) or because there is something to fight, an actual threat. I've seen some videos produced by the Russian propaganda machine. The folks on the Internet have kindly translated the speeches and discussions that the Russian mouthpieces spawn on a regular basis. There also videos of ordinary Russian soldiers and medics from the battlefield that I consider to be rather informative. Those are just guys but they are also the product of the system so it is interesting to see how Russian media affects their thought process. I may be not found of my own government and our media are as untrustworthy as any other media in any other country... But the things Russian say, their mindset... All disturbing. And coupled with their government's efforts to wage wars, sponsor terrorist groups, and fretinize with morally questionable leaders, there are no promises of a bright tomorrow. Something is cooking and it will not be pretty.
I have a Russian friend who currently lives in France. She moved there after the war bagan. Her father tried to ship her some of her stuff but was kicked out of their local postal office (he lives in Moscow). You'll never belive why. The female worker who was preparing the box for shipment was a Russian equivalent of a 'national patriot'. She was asking him the standard questions: what is the weight of the box? Who is the receiver? And then she asked the name of the country where the box shall be sent. Upon learning that is was France, she went berzerk. She started yelling at him that he's a traitor and that she will not send anything to France because Russia is currently, and I quote, "at war with France". This is not an isolated case though. I guess France has no idea that "it is curretly at war with Russia", which is absolutely not the case, but that middle-aged lady was convinced of it to be true. Russian media works hard to mobilize its peope against Ukraine and the world in general. I suspect it is useful for internal management but with the violance threshold breached with Ukraine it is unlikely that the rolling ball will stop. So, my point is... Media can talk trash all the time. Whether in America, in Ukraine, or in Russia... But it has an effect. Which we cannot just ignore. It all boils down to what beliefs we have in life.
I'm not even sure why I'm writing this. I just felt the need to say something 😅
      Have a nice day 💖

I recommend that you do a video review of Russians' comments on various questions. You should know that these people (not only Putin, but practically the entire people of Russia are sick with fascism). This is very important so that the world begins to understand the horrors of ideology in the minds of Russians, what propaganda has sown there, and what it will lead to if we treat Russians with ridicule and not seriously.

@@ReactionsbyD You are correct about media trying to lie, but, their lies are just not telling the full truth, and instead of actually informing, they want /you/ to have an opinion on /something/ they want - negative or positive, doesn't matter, as long as conflict in the mind distracts from reality. On one hand, US media is trying to prepare for the inevitable, but delivers the message through the lens of fucking elections and lens of populism, that is why you simply don't trust neither media nor the government much.
The message about nukes is bullshit, Ukraine have been bombing ruskies economy as of recent - oil refining and processing plants, equipment that is very hard to restore and there were no nukes used - and used for that drones made out of 80% western components, electronics etc.
What I can't comprehend is how weak US response is, given the fact that China's social media pretty much says Taiwan is next and they have been increasing military budget in geometrical progression for the last several years, double so since invasion to Ukraine. Social media is what AVERAGE person in the country believes or at least considers to be true to some degree, and inside the tyrannic rule-based countries, there is no need to have entirety of the population to even believe media, enough to convince 10-15% to go to war, and force the rest into submission.
      ---
China and Russia aren't beginning to disagree on anything, their economies and high-ranked are very close behind the doors, just according to the constructions of the pipe lines etc.

He didn't say specifically, but the reason why Ukraine and Finland have so much bomb shelters in various cities, Lviv and Kyiv especially, is attributed to Moscow's existence, much less so for Germany's invasion in WW2.
And that babusia who said about individualists - she is correct, we are hard workers, stubborn and prefer to do things our way. But, we are among the quickest to unite when there is a need, not shy to ask help from neighbors and we have a very weird part of a character - we'd go at length to help others, which we couldn't do for ourselves for any of reasons. Self-sacrificial for a thing that matters and scary rooting from all the way back during fights against tatars and mongols - when we had our backs against the wall and no hope for aid but needed to do everything to survive.

i have a hard time understanding why anyone makes such a big deal about coming to Ukraine. I've lived here for 17 years and it is nearly like the USA. Anything i can do in the states I can do here. Literally no restrictions that are different from America. It is a welcoming country, fairly safe on the streets (compared to US major cities) and the war effects us, but i do not feel it daily. It is not unsafe ( as long as you stay away from frontline cities or cities like Odessa that are a major hard on for Russians.) I live smack dab in the middle of the country, on the Dnipro river. We are hit with missiles and drones all the time and yet i never feel unsafe. I video the strikes from my second story window and understand that most of these strikes are with precision munitions and have a specific target ( not my home) Drones are way scarier than cruise missiles or ballistic threats, they can be shot down and still still explode. anyway, my point is. This is not a scary country. Many people speak a little English and welcome the opportunity to practice it. Get ready to drink a bunch if you come but do not be afraid to say no. Nobody will force you to drink and lately drinking is not so widespread. come, experience what it is like having an aggressor country at your door. The energy is palpable but not scary. i would welcome any travelers who wanted to come.

They have damaged more than 50% of the infrastructure so far and keep doing it with increasingly more complicated attacks (a mix of missiles with a shifting trajectory and drones all at once) In one of the recent attacks they targeted 30% of the infrastructure just in one day. Unfortunately we don’t have enough air defence systems to protect it fully and it’s a big problem for us.

Thank you for your attention to Ukraine! Thanks to all the people who help us❤
But as Ukrainian, I just can't agree with the opinion of author of the video about the causes of the war.
The author says that all this madness comes from politicians, that Americans do not ask their politicians to go to war with Russia, and similarly, Russians do not ask to fight with the United States. Regarding the Americans, I agree, but the Russians...you don't understand that the hatred for Americans and Europeans was formed in the Russians from the time of the Soviet Union and after the end of the Cold War, this hatred did not go anywhere, the Russians massively hate the USA, even those Russians who live in USA for many years.
It's not about the people, it's about the perspective, Russians hate the very idea of freedom.
So, to associate the fact that Russia started a war against Ukraine with the actions of American or European politicians is absolute madness.
Russia attacked because an empire can exist only by conquering other peoples and appropriating their gains.
Ukraine has been defending its independence since the time when the United States did not even exist, as the girl in the video also talked about.
Therefore, you should not indulge yourself with illusions that whether Russia will attack the entire Western world depends on your geopolitical caution, it depends only on the psychopathic Kremlin, and be sure that the Russians, like slaves, will gladly go and die for the idea of "Soviet Union 2.0" so that then destroy any democracy in the world.
The only thing we can all do is unite and fight🫡

In democracies, if you don't like your government or president you, have the option to change them every 4 years. Politicians in democracies have no choice but to listen to their potential voters and at least sometimes make people's lives better. Otherwise, no one will vote for them.
On the other hand, dictator doesn't give a sh!t about people, because no one initially decides who will be the next ruler but dictator himself. There is no other ruler at all!
So putting an = sign between politicians in democracies (even if they are the worst politicians ever) and dictatorships is a big mistake.
To start a war, it is not necessary that both sides want it. One side is enough for this. I guess you don't think Zelensky and other Ukrainian politicians wanted to start the war, right? There's always one side that is the aggressor and another one is victim. Always!!!
It's not "Politicians want a war to start," it's "Certain politicians in a certain country want a war to start."

If you say that the war strted because of governments that means you don't know WHAT russians are.
By the way you've heard that we are fighting for hundreds of years.... And governments have changed. And this war is not only about Ukraine. Yoh can ask Japan, Georgia, Finland, Syria, Ingutetia(Chechnya) and other countries about what russians are and about war.

Maybe you right, spoken about 3d world war... We are not witches, we can't saw future... But we can change would around us.
Unfortunately or fortunately, the USA is the largest and most powerful country in military terms. You and we have one thing in common - democracy and freedom of choice, I'm sure that Americans are just as confused about the word as Ukrainians. These words have the same meaning for you and for us. So, do not screw up your own presidential election, because unfortunately, the fate of people in the world largely depends on the correctness of your choice.
