The simple solution to Saffron Gym is easier, albeit slightly slower as it uses every room. Each time you warp, use the other tile on the same side if the room. You wind up at Sabrina at the end,and can skip every trainer in-between. Its what I did as a kid
I never struggled in Skyla’s bw2 gym. All you have to do is look at the wind currents. Once the currents start blowing faster, run to the green areas. Then just keep running through the gym while watching the wind currents
Kinda embarrassed to admit it, but on my recent playthrough of Brilliant Diamond, I (a 32 year old Pokémon veteran) got stuck for a while on Maylene's gym with the sliding walls & tires, especially when I didn't realize one wall was actually pushable when in the moment I thought it wasn't 😅
2:44 okay, a spinning Rosa is probably one of the cutest things I've seen in a while 😊 As a Masters EX player, I can almost imagine her saying "WoooaOaaOaaaOaaah" while getting spun by strong winds
People found Larry's Gym puzzle hard? It's just a matter of deducting the right item by crossing off all the items that don't fit the hints. The most difficulty I had was actually *finding* the hints. That being said, I did get stuck in a cave in HeartGold when I just got the game, but that was mostly due to the fact I didn't know English back then, with my native language not being among the list of translations in those days. Looking back, it was definitely because I didn't know about Rock Smash.
When i was younger i struggled finding the Magma Hideout in Emerald as well as the side cave entrance at the snowy part of Mt. Coronet in Pearl. Also the game corner Rocket grunt took me ages to find out. It looks all so obvious now but at that time i was stuck for so long on these parts.
I definitely got stuck in Slateport as a kid. Also, it took me ages to figure out how to get into Sootopolis City. But the worst thing for me was snorlax in GSC post game. I was stuck for weeks or maybe longer trying to figure out how to wake up the big loaf!
I remember as a kid when R&S first came out… being stuck on how to get into sootopolis city no joke for like a week… to the point where I actually thought I’d broke the game 🤣 oh the days before you could just google it!
Getting out of the Pokemon Mansion was one of the hardest parts for me as a kid. I once even restarted my game for it. I always brought an escape rope in there after that.
Larry's puzzle took me around 20 minutes, yes, bur it was because I was going too fast. The trick was to take it easy, and thus, I solved it in 2 minutes. It was pretty fun!
Couldn't figure out Larry's puzzle first time through. I had no idea the hints were around the entire city and not just in the restaurant. When the guy asks for the specific order, I somehow guessed all of them right on my first try.
2 that baffled me for ages (when I was a kid) were 1) Getting into Saffron city, in gen 1 you had to get the freshwater, no tea this time. I played to that point so many times and started again because I could never figure it out lol 2) Sudowoodo: never knew t get the watering can to use on him, blew my mind when a friend showed me
Sabrina's warp panels also stumped me as a kid but as I replayed FRLG when I got older, I just randomly decided to always go to the opposite diagonal panel and it led me right to Sabrina. I still can't believe I fugured that out without looking it up 😅
In Pokémon black 2 I needed to search on internet how to progress in Floccessy Ranch (I didn't know I had to go north to beat team plasma) but in Skyla's gym it took me a few hours to realize that I could run by pressing B and be fast enough to pass the wind.
I didn't struggle with Larry's puzzle at all but I also just talk to every new NPC I see at least once, maybe that's why. I can kinda relate to the Seafloor Cavern tho, I tend to struggle with finding the entrance. And I can especially relate to struggling the Pokémon Mansion, I've been playing through Let's Go recently and... it did not get any easier :'D When I was much younger and played FireRed, I remember also being vaguely creeped out by the music and the ominous "Who wouldn't?" whenever you press the buttons, so that did not help my puzzle solving abilities in the slightest.
The sootopolis city gym was hilariously hard. I couldn't for the life of me finish the last ice floor in ruby/sapphire. My sister (who has never played any of the pokemon games) had to do it for me lmao. I believe i was able to do it in emerald.
Just wanted to say you're not the only one who got stuck in Slateport city. I'd played it a few times previous but then I played it again years later and genuinely forgot who you had to talk to in to get the evil Team to stop blocking the museum, lol
I didn’t have much trouble with Finding Sea Floor Cavern. My problem with Hoenn’s Oceans was always surfing right pass Sootopolis City trying to find how to get there then realizing I had to Dive to get entry to the city for the first time.
4:50 I got half of hints on my first playthrough(the lemon and grilled rice balls ones) and decided "screw it" and guessed the other 2. Somehow got it right on the first guess.
I was definitely stuck on trying get into Sootopolis City back in my childhood and some other occasions that I can't remember. Most of the time though when I was younger I did have guide books but not always.
I got stuck in the Sundial City in Pokémon X. That’s what I get for skipping dialogue, because talking to the ONLY grunts in the city tells you what to do
For me, for at least the first four generations, it was any dungeon or gym puzzle that involved floor sliding or teleport pads. Those were my kryptonite back in the day.
Bell tower in gold/silver for me as a kid, I could climb a ways up and get some items, but could NEVER find the way up to ho-oh. Then one playthrough I FINALLY saw the random down ramp that started the entire path up to ho oh
Oh, Larry's Gym puzzle was fine for me. Just gotta listen to what the Gym trainers with the hints say after you beat them (look for any orange text within the text boxes, then speak to Larry, who gives you the the last hint (of lemon). Put those clues together and you got your Gym puzzle beaten). I actually struggled more against Larry's Staraptor, because that thing is a freakin' DEMON. I used Pawmot in Violet to beat that nuisance, but my Scarlet playthrough wasn't as lucky. I thought Lucario could make quick work of him, but NOPE! I got Staraptor'd. I'd say that his Gym team (with the Staraptor ace) would've been far harder of an Elite Four member than his Flamigo, but that's just me.
Trying to figure out how to move the Snorlax in HGSS took me months of backtracking, and talking to every NPC. I couldn’t figure out what the poke flute was. Finally I found a sign that explained it in my 6 th grade graduation
One embarrassing moment in XD gale of darkness happened when I first started playing it. I was a dumb kid not paying attention to dialogue so when you first get to Dr. Kamikos mansion I didn't know you had to talk to Jovi to progress in the game. This took me 3 weeks to figure out and this was when I didn't have a memory card.
4:50 I figured out Larry's puzzle without a video and only 2 hints, the one you start with and the type of food you order. Which I guess isn't saying much because it's half of the puzzle. My logic for the serving size was a regular typically doesn't eat a lot and are comfortable with eating the food there to not eat a little so medium serving made sense. As for the style of cooking. I felt it was common to order that style of food in such a way it turns out satisfyingly crunchy.
During my first ever run of Violet, I got stuck near the waters outside Messagoza literally at the start of the Treasure Hunt, before Miraidon was able to climb. With the screwed-up part being that I was old enough that I should have known better.
I got Yellow Version for my 5th birthday and was very very bad at it, it took me so long to get past Brock with Pikachu. But my poor little eyes were spinning after too many attempts at the basement of the rocket game corner, with that creepy music. I ended up having to go through it numerous times and was so dizzy.
7 year old me struggling to find the Card Key in Silph Co. during the Rocket invasion in Pokemon Yellow and 11 year old me struggling to get to the correct diving spot on Route 134 in Pokemon Emerald for the Regi's event to trigger. Also had to ask my mom what "Braille" was 😂 Ahhhh, nostalgia.
I did get a little stuck in the Driftveil Gym, Mistralton Gym, Sootopolis Gym, and Snowpoint Gym in White 2, Omega Ruby, and Shining Pearl, respectively.
I’ll admit I didn’t find Larry’s puzzle easy I didn’t even know you could talk to Larry himself in the restaurant to get the final hint I had to do the last part of the order by trial and error and got it on my second guess and I got my butt kicked by Larry the first time and reset and tried again
With the ice puzzles I just planned ahead until I figured out the answer. The pokemon mansion I certainly agree with. I just played Red/blue/yellow last month and took the wrong path to the basement even though I was positive I had it right.
I loved and grew up on the Gen 2 and 3 games mostly and I never had guides. Hoenn was a nightmare without em. 😂 but I’ve played them enough I could never forget where to turn now. But as a kid they rocked my brain for days.
With Sabrina's gym I always just go through each warp panel diagonal to the one I came from and always got to Sabrina quickly while battling all gym trainers along the way
The hardest for me and literally the entire school when i was 8yo was Pokemon gold and silver ... Kanto - missing generator part, expn card and train pass ... Without internet at that age the thing was almost impossible to find
I dont remember too much about these puzzles and areas but Juan/ Wallace’s puzzle PISSED me off 😂 5 freaking times I tried that puzzle and every time my anxiety was flying
This is probably embarrassing for me, but when I was a kid, I had no idea how to get into Miror B.'s hideout in Pokemon Colosseum because the entrance is block off, and the Colosseum in Pyrite City is too busy with the Pokemon Battles, and back then, I didn't have a memory card to save the game. It took me probably years before I finally realized that all I have to do get through the story is just click on the bookshelf in Duking's office so it automatically opens.
can you make another videos to cover the best movesets for pokemons from fire red and leaf green? mabye you can make a series with multiple episodes for each game/set of games
I got stuck on a very simple thing as a kid and I have done this multiple times unfortunately in top down games, the idea that you can walk under things... Aka the cycling road that goes over the path by the trick house. Why it took me so long to figure out I could go through there, I have no clue but I figured it out when the lady walking around that area did it and I was so shocked.
During my first attempt against larry, i went straight inside and talked to the chef but i bailed out knowing i didnt know the answer, after going back to the game i talked to the trainers and found the clues without a guide but it was anything but easy
false titan dragon got me unable to progress with violet for days, and this was with the help of online guides + youtube videos. scarlet violet is the top contender for worst overworld directions getting inside 8th gym city for emerald can take up the runner up slot, getting lost in the sea of water was not fun at all
If I want to do Saffron quickly I just go diagonal-diagonal-vertical, that's the quick way. If I want to battle every trainer, I go horizontally through every room.
Idk if it's true for gen 1 but for frlg if you just run to the opposite vertical panel for Sabrina's gym you will reach her. You don't have to battle any trainers at all. Simple. If you spawn on the top panel run to the bottom panel on the same side and vice versa
I’m surprised the WATERFALL TM being missed on ice cavern in gold/silver wasn’t on here… I was so conditioned for npc giving me the HM but didn’t think it be randomly in the cavern.
4:53 Larry’s gym puzzle was pretty difficult but I did manage to beat it without help…It took me awhile to find the guy with the blue squakabilly on his head to get the last clue(I should’ve just guessed on that one since I had 3/4 hints but I still got there)
Of All The Pokemon Games, Even As A Kid The Only Once I Struggled, Only As A Kid. Were Finding Ho-Oh And Lugia, And The Key For The Mansion, Because I Did Get To It But Didn't Had Space In My Bag, So I Ignored It, And I Didn't Knew That Was The Key! Luckily Ever Since Playing Gen 2, I Never Got Stuck Again. And Yes Both The Aqua/Magma Thing As Well As Juan's Gym Were No Trial And Error For Me. First Time I Go In, I Go Straight To The Fight. Only To Lose Because His Ice beam Froze My Sceptile. Damn!!!
Lt.Surge puzzle was my nightmare .. I dident understand english very well when I was a child and playing pokemon red for first time. I never undestand it right what to do :/
When I was doing Larry's gym puzzle for the first time I was showing a friend what it was when I had randomly put in the correct ingredients which was nice for the moment but when I replayed through Violet I realized I hadn't remembered what I had guessed for the order so it took me about 5 minutes longer
First time playing through Red I didn't have anyone to ask, and didn't know how to use HM flash. I got through rock tunnel running the edges of the walls and trial and error, over 2 weeks to make it through.
I remember getting stuck on the Pokémon Factory due to spamming the b button I was 1/4 bars battery on the 3ds it was so annoying Iwas stuck there for 1-2 weeks
Seems like for some of the "puzzles" all that had to be done was explore or rather go into buildings and talk to people or go to the areas you haven't been to. For others try out the new features like diving out in different areas.
I thought the new games were too easy? Lol. I have a hard time believing folks had trouble there. I do understand being lazy and just trying to get through.
@@ernestomoreno4409 exactly. As a guy who's into pokemon beyond just casual play, I do find the games easy but not too easy overall since a lot of the game was never about difficulty anyway but anyway, I find that the difficulty is perfect for people new to pokemon which is like the target audience somewhat, obviously you wanna bring more fans in of course. My gf is a life long gamer, not like grew up on sims and Mario kart gamer, like grew up on pre panda wow and ps2-3 aaa titles and runescape gamer and she would totally not show the first 3 gens of pokemon much attention at all if given them rn. Her first game was gen 8. She made it thru gen 8 and gen 9 no assistance needed, no stuck moments.
Pokémon Pearl was my first ever Game, So what I am saying is incredibly hilarious but understandable for a 11 year old's mindset I got lost in base mount cornet because I didn't know you can use flash and get out. I was upset and never played game until 2017 when I figured how I could have gotten out I didn't have any friends who played Pokémon and no guide books
For me it was figuring out how to get past Snorlax in Pokemon Yellow. If you don't have the silph scope it will just say ghost appeared and you can't attack it.
10.-) Yeah, that one can be complex. Best way to do this one is to imagine an eagle-view of the entire room. 9.-) Sorry bro, but this one is pretty easy. I mean, it should be pretty obvious that the walls with the green floors were created so that the player could hide from the wind. 8.-) This one is also easy. There are only two stairs going up and only one path, so it should be pretty easy as well. 7.-) Eh, this one is more troublesome than hard. The game gives you all the required hints to solve the puzzle, after all. 6.-) Okay, for this one I can kinda agree. When I was younger I would also get stuck often, but I found the trick latter: Always go straight. Yup, is that simple. If you always go straight right/left, then you will reach Sabrina after going through all the other rooms once. 5.-) Di-Did you skip the dialogue? Because the "solution" to this "puzzle" is pretty obvious from what the Silph Co. Chairman says when he tells you to take the goods. I don't even see how anybody could get stuck here. 4.-) Okay, for this one I can agree (well, for everything but pressing "B"). I also will always get lost at this point in the game. 3.-) Okay, you must be skipping the dialogue. Because not only does the game tell you to go to Mt.Pyre, but you also can complete said section prior to arriving to Lilycove City, I think. 2.-) Sounds to me that you just are bad at puzzles in general. Honestly, 6 hours is just too much. I suppose you simply haven't touched a puzzle-heavy franchise (say Professor Layton) in your life. 1.-) Sorry, but I can't, this one is also, like #7 above, more troublesome than hard. If you only care about getting the key then you only need to press four buttons (two of them once) and that is all. Honestly, most of these can be completed with some slight thinking, so to me it sounds like you skip the dialogue often and don't think much.
I hope I can post this without getting judged TOO harshly. When I first got pokemon blue back in '98, it took me two or three days to figure out how to get out of the characters house. I didnt realize the exit was marked by the carpet.. I was 8 ok lmao
It seems I got dumber as I got older. Most of these in the videos I figured out when I was a kid. Battle network 3 I beat back in like 2002 or 2003. I was like 13. I didn't have access to any guides. Now I get stumped on all kinds of things. I usually give it about 30 min to an hour to try and figure it out. After that I just look it up because I want to move on with the game I'm playing.
Me: 23 year old gets stuck while trying to find the key to the Team Rocket Silph Co base in Blue. Edit: I looked it up on TH-cam and laughed at myself for how easy it was.
The simple solution to Saffron Gym is easier, albeit slightly slower as it uses every room.
Each time you warp, use the other tile on the same side if the room.
You wind up at Sabrina at the end,and can skip every trainer in-between.
Its what I did as a kid
I just walk horizontally, I think you save a couple of warps than going vertical
Even simpler, just always use the bottom left warp and you’ll get there. Only one thing to remember
This is true I discovered this when first time playing on kanto because I always wanted to evade trainer battles.
Nah that was a real struggle😂it’s been a min
Same. I was really questioning my life choices at that moment.
2:44 okay, a spinning Rosa is probably one of the cutest things I've seen in a while 😊
As a Masters EX player, I can almost imagine her saying "WoooaOaaOaaaOaaah" while getting spun by strong winds
I've been wanting to try Master's EX, do you reccomend it?

I remember getting stuck finding the Magma Hideout for a long time and got a Master Ribbon in the process 😂

You can never escape me in Mystic's comment sections
Absolutely crazy.
This is insane, folks.
I've never seen u before actually, but I guess I don't spend too time scrolling down comment sections cuz I'm too lazy for that.
Getting out of the Pokemon Mansion was one of the hardest parts for me as a kid. I once even restarted my game for it. I always brought an escape rope in there after that.

Is this 1 of those rare times where players have gotten stuck in a puzzle from a modern game?
@@lipika2841 sorta. People have stopped using their brains since puzzles like that one are rare, as games nowdays have been simplified
Couldn't figure out Larry's puzzle first time through. I had no idea the hints were around the entire city and not just in the restaurant. When the guy asks for the specific order, I somehow guessed all of them right on my first try.

Dude, I faced the exact same issue in Flocessy Ranch & I even got my 1st blackout over there.

Yeah I looked up the solution for Larry's gym puzzle cause I thought the answers were in the gym not outside the gym
I was definitely stuck on trying get into Sootopolis City back in my childhood and some other occasions that I can't remember. Most of the time though when I was younger I did have guide books but not always.
Oh, I thought we were gonna talk about locking yourself in a place where you can't escape. But this is interesting, too.
I took hours trying to make my way through Victory Road in D/P/P, the amount of times I had to leave a room to rest those darn Strength boulders...
Sabrina's game is simple. Always go to the most diagonal panel to get to her directly in the shortest time.
Slateport, finding the submarine (I always go to the other cave) and the Sootopolis gym always give me trouble

On Larry's gym. I Figgured out most of it but I never got the "Twist of lime hint." The hint given to you by Larry.
4:54 I figured it out without a guide, but instead used my notes app and wrote down the clues to try and figure it out myself
I’m genuinely surprised Candace’s gym puzzle wasn’t at least mentioned

Im in the pokemon mansion on a replay of lets go Eevee as im watching this lol
Damn!!!
I remember when I was a kid playing silver I used to restart every time I made it to the ice cave because I couldn’t figure it out.
Never played the remakes and I was like there wasn't puzzles in mansion or tower, so was confused at first.
Got stuck in Slateport in Gen 3 and in the remakes. Also when did a playthrough of the remakes about a month ago i got stuck😂
I figured out Larry's gym puzzle without a video to guide me, though it did take me a bit
No matter the time if it was any kind of ice or snow puzzle I was 100% getting stuck as a kid sometimes even now lol
Keep up the awesome work and videos love the video
Lt.Surge puzzle was my nightmare .. I dident understand english very well when I was a child and playing pokemon red for first time. I never undestand it right what to do :/
When I was doing Larry's gym puzzle for the first time I was showing a friend what it was when I had randomly put in the correct ingredients which was nice for the moment but when I replayed through Violet I realized I hadn't remembered what I had guessed for the order so it took me about 5 minutes longer
I struggled in pokemon snap for the N64 trying to find all the Pokemon signs. But I completed it for the switch online
I had to look up the Sabrina's gym puzzle and the legends arcias temple puzzle, and the 8 gym ice puzzle in pokemon ruby
I didn’t realize I had to step out the restaurant for Larry when I first did it. 🤦🏻♂️
I am surprised to that the Ruin of Alph is on here those puzzels are hard to figure out to get to the other rooms
The only place where I really got stuck was seafoam islands, I just always get turned around in there.
First time playing through Red I didn't have anyone to ask, and didn't know how to use HM flash. I got through rock tunnel running the edges of the walls and trial and error, over 2 weeks to make it through.
I figured Larry’s puzzle without a guide
I remember getting stuck on the Pokémon Factory due to spamming the b button I was 1/4 bars battery on the 3ds it was so annoying Iwas stuck there for 1-2 weeks
Seems like for some of the "puzzles" all that had to be done was explore or rather go into buildings and talk to people or go to the areas you haven't been to. For others try out the new features like diving out in different areas.
Sotopolis City Gym was extremely hard.
i was also stuck in all of these places when i play it first time
For Larry's puzzle, I could never find the right size, but I could find all the other clues. Let's just say it took me 3 attempts to make the order
How did anyone get hung up at larry? Jeez it was harder to get crispins trial done and that was a cakewalk itself.
I remember trying to find Lugia in the Whirlpool Islands took me forever to figure out when I was kid!
Pokémon Pearl was my first ever Game, So what I am saying is incredibly hilarious but understandable for a 11 year old's mindset
I got lost in base mount cornet because I didn't know you can use flash and get out. I was upset and never played game until 2017 when I figured how I could have gotten out
I didn't have any friends who played Pokémon and no guide books
Yes no matter how many times I do and and no matter how many years the bell tower still confusing
For me it was finding the HM Rock Smash in R/S/E.
My smooth brain couldn't figure out Larry's gym and I'm 26, I looked up a guide too.
Ice cave in g/s/c was brutal for me
Looking for the Magma Hideout in Emerald. 'nuff said.
Yeah I got through Larry's gym test without a video
my first time playing scavi, there was a bug so one of Larry's clues just didn't show up. I in fact did not solve that one on my own
#5 is what happens when u mash the A button and don’t read the texts before hand lol
I figured out Larry's puzzle without a video. I only got confused because I sped past the dialogue
Finding Lucia for the first time
I hope I can post this without getting judged TOO harshly. When I first got pokemon blue back in '98, it took me two or three days to figure out how to get out of the characters house. I didnt realize the exit was marked by the carpet.. I was 8 ok lmao
Those points where I either had to keep trying until I find the way or look it up.
But it isn't as hard as the Megaman Battle Network games.
The puzzles in those games can be brutal. I'm currently playing the first one. I've beaten 3 and 5. But 3 was the best.
@@jaggedpoppet3921 I was glad I still have my guild books for 4 & 5. I had to keep looking up walkthrough for help with all of them.
I figured out Larry's puzzle without looking it up
Me: 23 year old gets stuck while trying to find the key to the Team Rocket Silph Co base in Blue. Edit: I looked it up on TH-cam and laughed at myself for how easy it was.
