The entire series is great, highlighting the accomplishments and wisdom of older women. I also love that she calls her mom after each episode to debrief. Lovely & charming!

I'm a high school English teacher and I used to teach All Quiet. It's beautifully written but absolutely heartbreaking (as most WWI novels are). It's definitely not a light read, but I think you'll enjoy it. You'll walk away from it with the realization that our "enemies" are not all that different from us.
Andrea! I read the best book and I think you would really enjoy it. The measure by Nikki Erlick. I put a hold on it at my library so you don't even have to pay for it if you don't want. It's about how one day everybody wakes up and there are boxes in front of their homes, all with a string in them that ultimately tell them how long they will live. And all the consequences that come of that. It sounds science-fictiony but it's actually quite emotional and thought-provoking as well. Have a wonderful day!
The only thing I would do is check the expiration date on the products. Unless they are buying direct from the vendor then they could be buying from stores that are going out of business and they could cause more irritation if they are old.

Your videos are so much fun to watch. Your enthusiasm for bargains 😂 As concerns micellar water - I use it to take sunscreen off my thick brows before I use brow gel. I do it with a Q-tip to just get the hairs. It works well. 💙🌻

You should try Colour Pop eyeshadows! They're inexpensive, have a great shade variety, the colors are pretty saturated AND there is very little (if any fallout).
Those nose strips are lethal! Used them when I was younger and had blackheads on my nose but if you don’t wet them properly when you remove them you end up causing thread veins. I have two caused by those things
When hubby and I moved to DFW, we bought a queen-size mattress at Big Lots for our guest bedroom. That was 15 years ago. We still have the mattress in our guest room, and it remains one of the most comfortable mattresses we've ever purchased. And surprisingly, the least expensive. As to your comment about picadillo, I am Cuban by birth, and while raisins are a staple in our picadillo, I don't like them. So, instead, I use craisins. They taste great, and no one ever notices the difference. 😊
My ex husband is Cuban and, yes, the raisins are a staple in picadillo! For me, the raisins are ok as long as they aren’t overpowering. It’s the OLIVES I can stand. I always leave a little pile of olive bits on my plate!
I highly recommend the Maybelline Nudes of New York eyeshadow palette! It has a similar color scheme to the NYX one but I think the shadows are a bit better quality

I read All Quiet OnThe Western Front in 11th grade and did a book report on it. That was many many years ago. Lol. I still remember it well. It’s a great book.
Being courteous and respectful towards others is apparently not a thing anymore. So many people all about getting respect and their feelings not realizing they are being what they are accusing others are to them. 🤷🏽♀️ It really bothers me when people are rude and so disrespectful towards others. For eyeshadow, you should definitely check out the ELF 4 pan bite size shadows. They are $3 are come in a variety of colors. I think you would like the "I Love You Latte" palette. Also, check out Colourpop eyeshadow palettes. The two that I recommend are "Going Coconuts" and "That's Taupe". Both are cool toned and are neutral. Colourpop has sales all the time so you can probably pick either of these up on sale for less than $10 each. Colourpop shadows are fairly consistent across all palettes, however I would stay away from any that contain pressed glitter. Any of these far surpass NYX when it comes to color payoff. That banana boat kids sport sunscreen at 3:50 is a very effective zinc oxide sunscreen at a great price. However, I would not advise using it on your face. Not only does it have a noticeable cast, which I don't mind that much, but because of the powerstay technology, I found it harder to remove than the Eucerin baby sunscreen SPF 50. It actually gave me a couple of little pimples, and I suspect it was because I was not able to remove all of it despite my usual efforts.
Whoever mentioned dermageek, thanks! My big lots store doesn't have much beauty stock other than some regular priced lines and LA Colors @ 200% of Dollar Tree prices. BUT I did score a nice, simple dermageek serum, some nice masks (tube not single use, yay!), and a single red nail polish for sandal weather (starting over w nail polish, building collection slowly...). PS Lol...so the red polish turned out to be shimmery deep brown, my eyes are not great haha, but very pleased....what a gorgeous color and I wanted something different from the usual summer brights & pastels.
We don't have a Big Lots store where I live, what a great store with affordable prices 🙂 I have tried a few brands of Micellar Water and my favorite is the Marcelle brand for Normal skin - it's fragrance free. I always wondered, and I don’t actually know if this is measured or can be measured. How deep does skincare actually go into the skin. As in till what layer of the skin. I suffer from hormonal acne and i wonder if putting on topical creams actually help since my acne always starts so deep into my skin. Thank you for doing videos you have literally saved my skin a thousand times 😊
I want to buy more freeman lol. My dad bought me a freeman cucumber mask a long time ago when I was still suffering with severe acne and I used every last drop of it. I loved that mask.

I’m 60 years old and as a kid about around 10 years old my mom and dad would always put Noxzema on me as a sunscreen. I guess it worked but most of my life I didn’t know it was a skin cleanser. I’m not sure they knew what it was really for. I’m not sure where they got the idea from.
I always buy paper napkins for my handicapped friend plus toilet cleaner. Saves a lot of money. I buy dish soap, toilet cleaner, bleach, elf brushes, cards, gift bags, tissue paper, decorations and cranberry juice.
It just occurred to me that Big Lots might be a lot less stocked in most of our towns - I'm realizing that a lot of their prices are similar to regular around here, but are likely a fantastic deal in the most expensive cities. There's probably a higher purchase rate when the prices are more dramatic, and most of their beauty products were in line w Walmart prices, sometimes up into budget drugstore or even target prices. No reason to shop picked over products to grab an $7 shampoo when I have more choices at WM, but if the WM shampoo is up to $10, I can see Big Lots looking real good. Also super proud of myself for not buying the old lady wildflower tee, even if it did have Hundred Acre Woods characters. I'm too young for a wildflower tee (it was a specific trend years ago, and these shirts also have polo collars, I'm not making fun of wildflower tees for young ppl, just for 50-65 yr Olds heehee) & on a low-buy lifestyle right now.

I've been having fun with the dollar tree loose pigments...not nearly as fast as the sticks but definitely a chance to get creative, and they are really decent quality, esp with a setting spray or eye primer.
@@CabsAndEthel yes just a bit down inside ears and then massage ears for a minute from the outside. Works to heal an infection and also as a preventative occasionally- please note I am not a vet-but was told by a vet to try it and it sure works!
I've read "All Quiet on the Western Front" twice. First time in high school. I highly recommend. The latest movie version I was skeptical to watch for a while. Finally watched it. It was extremely well done, imho. ❤
All Quiet on the Western Front is a powerful novel written by a German veteran of world war 1….it tells the story of a young German soldier’s experience of the horrors of war.
Just a super common allergen. Everyone switched to it when parabens were demonized but then a ton of people became allergic to it and now a lot of companies are reformulating with out it. I think H&S has removed it in new products.

Hi Dr. Dray, you can try using eyeshadow primer to help your shadow last longer. My drugstore go to is the one from Milani. Hope it helps!

Those Maybelline concealers are really good. I use them under the eyes to cover my dark circles. They are really long lasting.

I have eye shadow stick that I love from the dollar tree it makes super easy and fast to apply eye makeup
I've been having fun with the dollar tree loose pigments...not nearly as fast as the sticks but definitely a chance to get creative, and they are really decent quality, esp with a setting spray or eye primer.
How does hypothyroidism affect acne? Cause I have acne about 9 years now and I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism

The athletes foot cream is also amazing for dogs if they get frequent ear infections! Dollar Tree has it for 5 quarters. Sorry a bit off topic haha 😂
Do you put it inside their ears?
@@CabsAndEthel yes just a bit down inside ears and then massage ears for a minute from the outside. Works to heal an infection and also as a preventative occasionally- please note I am not a vet-but was told by a vet to try it and it sure works!

Just a super common allergen. Everyone switched to it when parabens were demonized but then a ton of people became allergic to it and now a lot of companies are reformulating with out it. I think H&S has removed it in new products.
