@@CarStory The nsx also has alot better acceleration. On a 1/4 to 1/8 drag strip, the Camaro wouldn't beat the nsx it's physically impossivle unless the Cameron has some mods on, and even then it needs a few more than a couple of mods to beat the nsx.

I'd say 95% of people won't be able to handle rear wheels breaking loose going over 50 mph. The other option. Take your beautiful expensive car to the track and break the engine or part of the drive train. Or somebody loses control and crashes into your car. Insurance company will not pay. Oh you gonna lie to a professional insurance adjustor about were the crash happen. That's a loss... they are equal to a defective. Racing ain't safe or cheap. Gonna be ready to die and spend lots of money to be fast. Personally I race motorcycle. Motocross and super sport bikes both. They are faster, cheaper and handle the punishment with no limit.

Camaro makes almost 10% more power and weighs less than a percent more than the NSX so no surprise. Also the Camaro looks like its on slicks. That being said, one will be cool in 25 years, the other will have doubled in value and become a collector car.

Interesting, i was out riding my H2 a few weeks ago and i wasnt trying to race anyone but this orange nsx ran me down and passed me as i was getting off. Looks like the same car. I live very close to this track and if it was i should let ya know that was one of the sweetest sounding cars you can imagine. hard to hear anything over my H2 but its definitely not stock. Very cool car.
The Camaro won by a half a second and the driver has an extra $100K in his pocket. The Camaro is the clear winner. Add in the reaction time and the Camaro won by 3/4 of a second.

Dunno why none of you car enthusiasts did this(Leave it to the Track and Field guy of course) but the Acura actually false started. From a Human's standpoint? The timing was perfect but the vehicle moved right before the change occurred. The entire vehicle itself didn't shift forward massively until it hit green. From the naked eye it looks perfect but slow the video down to .25 speed and you'll see. Almost impressive but it was a false start.
One of my favorite cars ever but I can't even argue with this. The car has every advantage. Mid engine, all wheel drive, forced induction, hybrid drivetrain, half as many seats... But yet a well tuned Audi S4 can give this a run for its money.
Bandimere. 8000'+ DA. It effects boosted and electric cars less than NA motors, but it still has an impact. Plenty of videos of NSXs running low 11's/high 10s stock. Even w/the altitude, I kinda think he should've been a little quicker than an 11.4, but a lot of that can be explained away with the altitude.

Disclaimer - I'm not a NSX fan. So don't be too salty Maybe the Camaro is stock. but it has drag spec Tyres. So that's why it won. There's no magazine's tests say that stock Camaro ZL1 can run 11 flat. But the NSX had.

I don't understand why a 150k vs 65k would even try? How do you justify 150k vs 65k? NSX over priced and out of reach of their orginal fan base. No wonder older Gen NSX shot up in value.

The new Z is going to be great with a few modifications. Will be a good all around vehicle for those of us that like these things called Corners. The straight line stuff is okay in small doses but it's mind numbingly old. To me a car is stupid if it cannot corner/brake/communicate well to the driver. Gotta hand it to the ZL-1 being great at both. Too bad though you see about 6 BILLION Cameros on the road.. I was going to get one and then just lost interest.
Shouldn't you "go" when the third orange light turns ON, not off? It will take a couple seconds to get on the gas and start moving the front wheels, so by then, the light is probably green.

The base model is good for 11 sec. Add the JB4 bolt-on tune module & exhaust, and the car runs mid 10 sec. with 0-60 in 2.6. Search for YT vids.

Dunno why none of you car enthusiasts did this(Leave it to the Track and Field guy of course) but the Acura actually false started. From a Human's standpoint? The timing was perfect but the vehicle moved right before the change occurred. The entire vehicle itself didn't shift forward massively until it hit green. From the naked eye it looks perfect but slow the video down to .25 speed and you'll see. Almost impressive but it was a false start.
I for real thought that was over from how late the camaro took off

One of my favorite cars ever but I can't even argue with this. The car has every advantage. Mid engine, all wheel drive, forced induction, hybrid drivetrain, half as many seats... But yet a well tuned Audi S4 can give this a run for its money.
At the last part of the video midway to the finish line.... The NSX seems to loss it's steam... The speed just plateau...

It effects boosted and electric cars less than NA motors, but it still has an impact. Plenty of videos of NSXs running low 11's/high 10s stock.
Even w/the altitude, I kinda think he should've been a little quicker than an 11.4, but a lot of that can be explained away with the altitude.
@@Boblib1970 Modern forced induction cars actually have a better ability to adjust boost pressure for different air conditions and different altitudes. I would have thought that advantage would be to the Acura's side

They're both domestic lmao, the NSX was fully developed from the ground up in the US by Americans. The only thing Honda was involved in was developing the hybrid system.

Maybe the Camaro is stock. but it has drag spec Tyres. So that's why it won. There's no magazine's tests say that stock Camaro ZL1 can run 11 flat. But the NSX had.

Ok, tune the NSX. Then let’s tune the Camaro. Then a cam, then heads, then a different roots or twin screw blower, then a 460 cubic inch cast iron bottom end. Then a F1R from Procharger. And be in the 7’s. And still spend less than the buyer of the NSX.

NSX has an additional two electric motors, which translates to gobs of torque. Instant acceleration.

It has set faster laps than a lot of modern supercars. In fact its a whole 20 seconds faster around the Nurburgring than the Acura NSX.

I don't understand why a 150k vs 65k would even try? How do you justify 150k vs 65k? NSX over priced and out of reach of their orginal fan base. No wonder older Gen NSX shot up in value.

Believe it or not some people would rather have a more rare and special car over a car that you see dozens of times a day, even if it costs them an extra 85k.
If going as fast as possible for as cheap was possible is the goal, surely the guy who owns the NSX could buy a dedicated race car, tow vehicle, and trailer for less than 65k and outrun the ZL1 if he wanted too.
Because america allows modded cars. So its actually quite common for super cars to be beaten by every day drivers here. Why pay 150k when you can mod it for cheaper? Its only worth that 150k because most people don't have any other option to get a car that fast.

At the same time Nissan will be selling its final version the 400zx with roughly 400bhp RWD with a 6 speed millennial killer! The new Z is going to be great with a few modifications. Will be a good all around vehicle for those of us that like these things called Corners. The straight line stuff is okay in small doses but it's mind numbingly old. To me a car is stupid if it cannot corner/brake/communicate well to the driver. Gotta hand it to the ZL-1 being great at both. Too bad though you see about 6 BILLION Cameros on the road.. I was going to get one and then just lost interest.

It will take a couple seconds to get on the gas and start moving the front wheels, so by then, the light is probably green.
