I was not aware a human could produce sounds that deep... and then Colm starts singing.
Truly, the words "Vallipo Bay" have never been uttered with a resonance that could shatter mountains before.
Colm's subharmonic bases are incredibly impressive and always knock my socks off, especially given the top end of his range.
Because I've mentioned Subharmonics on the internet though, I'm now legally obligated to mention the basses for VoicePlay and Home Free (Geoff Castalluci(spelled incorrectly) and Tim Foust).
Go and listen to VoicePlay do the Oogie Boogie song, then go on a Bassey spiral between Tim, Geoff and Colm, with a splash of old PTX for Avi (surname) too.

Colm's got that massive basso profundo vocal training. It's stupendous. what would blow me away would be if he got oktavist training. Russian oktavists can rattle small concert halls when they sing that low. And I think Colm's got the pipes for it. the only superdeep youtube singer I think could. Geoff Castallucci (sp?) can't, he can hold the note, but he's a bit, um, croaky? (and I say that as someone who loves his stuff)

@@-asilex-2356 according to a comment he made on his channel, for singing at a lower octave, he sings in the morning when it's a bit cooler, doesn't drink water right away, and he aims to do it while a tad hungover. These all apparently contribute to a lower voice, and the last one even goes with the whole pirate theme.

I was listening to Colm's cover of Jolene, but not watching the video. When a woman (his partner I think) started singing I didn't question it at all, just immediately accepted it as something Colm could do.
Tbf, he does usually have 3 "selves" singing in his covers 😛.

@@Solnoric If you practice enough, you can stretch your range as well! just make sure to do it in a safe way that won't harm your voice. I can't go quite as low as he can, but I can go pretty high, so much that I can fill in for a soprano for my church if they need me to

My best friend and I literally fell in love with the great variety of voices featured in this cover, where from Anna's powerful voice to Colm's dark and engaging bass and Rich's great vocal skills. Oh, obviously without taking anything away from Jon and Caleb. Great and synergistic. It will now be the seventh time I've listened to it again this morning.

This is the best Collab ever. Arguably the best musicians on TH-cam. Jonathan's voice and skill with his instruments along with Colm McGuinness's ability to sing in 3 octaves was the most noticeable part. This is now top of my favourites.

When ye hear those songs, ye be hearing the sound many a kingsman know te be the harbinger o' their death and the pillagin' o' their valuables...
...ye be hearing the crew of the Swan Song...man o' war, rumored to once be the ship a' the governor a' Panama 'fore they stole it and threw the poor Spaniard te a watery grave in shark-infested waters. Aye, they sing as would a merry band strollin' along the coast a' Tortuga. But make no mistake. These scoundrels are among the most vicious pirates ever to sail the Carribean.
Their gunner, just te name one, be a dog of a man named Richard Edward Bichler...but you may know him better as Richard the Eb. He'll play a fine tune fer yer enjoyment, sure. But beware when his ragged voice carries with it the word "fire!" For when it does, expect a broadside so fierce, you'd a' thought it ordered by Satan himself.
Aye, and then there be Anna Pantsu. A wily woman, she. Seductive as she is clever. It's said that she were once a nobleman's daughter from Finland or Denmark or some such place. I hear she hangs her hat with the Canadians some summers. Anyhow, she be the sailin' master, and blow me down, be she a good one. Never underestimate her strategic mind. Next be their dreaded quartermaster: Colm McGuinness. That filthy mongrel of an Irishman may put on a lovely smile, but be warned.
