A while back, during a middle school “back to school night”, parents were encouraged to bring treats and snacks which were laid out on a table for all to share. I was horrified to find someone put a big box of gummy vitamin packages there and kids were taking them! I quickly pointed this out to one of the science teachers who was rightly panicked and who made sure to remove them but who knows how many kids are them believing they were candy. There is just too much chance for accidents.

If you have ever been to any other countries you would realise they have different cultures. Going to Thailand last year, most of their shops were what we would describe as our pharmacies and all of their gummies describe some sort of vitamin intake. It's an easy mistake to make especially when settling into a new country. Especially gummies as that was quite prevalant. And I would like you all to learn not only basic phrases but basic language of a country not based on the Roman alphabet and see how you do.

I ate like 7 apples in 10 minutes, and apples have fiber. So naturally I had to shit, so I did. I had the best piss of my life, but I couldnt stop. Eventually, I forced myself to get out. And I felt like the skin near my ass was ripping off for a few hours.
Thank god for this video !! I had seen this a few years back and never though it would be critical to me in the future ! My mom really loves gummy candies , and she didn’t feel well in the past few days. Today she told me how she ate 2 jars of these candies only today , and when I inspected it I saw this was the vitamin kind of candies and only 2 were allowed per day ! If I didn’t see this video I wouldn’t have known that I needed to stop her immediately!
This is compelling reason to not market vitamins in a candy form. Keep the gummy everything and the child friendly stuff but make the bottles very clearly medicinal looking.

Considering we have commercials that aim to sell pharmaceuticals to the masses… it’s not surprising… our “cuisine” tends to learn towards high sugar count in anything possible see white bread.
They’re also clearly sold in the medicine section and other medicines have cartoony pictures of illness or treatment. Even if you can’t read English or Spanish, context clues can help you understand which section they’re in.

Every time I see one of these, I wonder how my little brother is still alive. When we were children, he got into the medicine cabinet and ate an entire bottle of sour gummy multivitamins. He was in elementary school at the time.

My family and I once went to a candy store in Barcelona that had a whole gimmick around its bulk candy being presented like medicine, and you'd take them home in clear plastic pill bottles. It never really occured to me how dangerous something like that could be, especially with a language barrier going on.

When I was a kid my mom told me I had to take my vitamins to grow up strong. So I reasoned if one vitamin a day made me strong, maybe a whole bottle would make me super-strong like Superman, and I ate the whole bottle of Flintstones vitamins and then went to play in the backyard and wait for my superpowers. Soon my mom found the empty bottle and was holding me over the toilet forcing me to throw them up. I always figured that was a bit of an overreaction but perhaps it was not.
When I was a little kid, in the late 1960s, we were on vacation in Yugoslavia, and I ate half a bottle of Chocks vitamins - they were more of the normal chalky tablet consistency but they tasted good. My parents freaked out and took me to the hospital, but the doctor there said all I needed to do was drink lots of water for the next day or so. I didn’t suffer any Ill effects so I guess he was right. But I’m sure it also helped that the amount of vitamins in these tablets over 50 years ago was probably a lot less than newer ones, plus the number of tablets per bottle was also less than now.
Im from Serbia (Ex-YU country) and we still have something that sounds similair here. Theyre these chalky fruit flavored vitamin tablets, but they come in very small boxes that easily fit in your pocket. Theyre based on the vitamin powder drink Cedevita, and growing up i was told not to drink more than 3 glasses of It a day as to not overdose on vitamins(which is kinda bs, but i get where its coming from). We do have vitamin gummies, but theyre almost always found only in pharmacies and drugstores

My family and I once went to a candy store in Barcelona that had a whole gimmick around its bulk candy being presented like medicine, and you'd take them home in clear plastic pill bottles.
It never really occured to me how dangerous something like that could be, especially with a language barrier going on.

When I was a kid my mom told me I had to take my vitamins to grow up strong. So I reasoned if one vitamin a day made me strong, maybe a whole bottle would make me super-strong like Superman, and I ate the whole bottle of Flintstones vitamins and then went to play in the backyard and wait for my superpowers. Soon my mom found the empty bottle and was holding me over the toilet forcing me to throw them up. I always figured that was a bit of an overreaction but perhaps it was not.

When I was a little kid, in the late 1960s, we were on vacation in Yugoslavia, and I ate half a bottle of Chocks vitamins - they were more of the normal chalky tablet consistency but they tasted good. My parents freaked out and took me to the hospital, but the doctor there said all I needed to do was drink lots of water for the next day or so. I didn’t suffer any Ill effects so I guess he was right. But I’m sure it also helped that the amount of vitamins in these tablets over 50 years ago was probably a lot less than newer ones, plus the number of tablets per bottle was also less than now.

Im from Serbia (Ex-YU country) and we still have something that sounds similair here. Theyre these chalky fruit flavored vitamin tablets, but they come in very small boxes that easily fit in your pocket. Theyre based on the vitamin powder drink Cedevita, and growing up i was told not to drink more than 3 glasses of It a day as to not overdose on vitamins(which is kinda bs, but i get where its coming from). We do have vitamin gummies, but theyre almost always found only in pharmacies and drugstores
