I really like those kloppmann pickups...a question... is the body of the bass made of alder? I'm trying to figure out how these 70's pickups will sound in my bass
The Pickups shall copy an original 70s Pu system. I have bought the Custom Shop used with the other Pickup-system, so I can't say, that they are better than the original ones. But The original owner (professional bass player) has modified all his Fender Basses with Kloppmann Pickups and he said they are better. Actually I think that too. There are many users who think these are the best and say they are more dynamic. They are expensive, so if you love your sound with the Fender Custom Shop Pickups everything is good. Both are actually good and maybe the change won't bring the wished result, but as said before many people love them and think they are worth the price tag.
