The sf6 version adds context to the move for me. I always thought the 2d animation was just him moving in a shadowy way with the afterimages, but it's actually 1000 shadow clones all moving at the same time.

It’s not clones. The whole point of the move according to many is that Akuma is moving so fast that he creates a bunch of afterimages of himself doing these attacks. Those “clones” you’re seeing are those afterimages

Strangely enough, Akuma in Children of the Atom does not have Raging Demon.

I’m not sure if the Raging Demon in SF6 is better than the one in SF5, but no doubt, the one in SF6 is awesome.
