Alright here’s some tips for the rth and the li-ions. So the rth won’t work unless you have 5-6 satellites BEFORE you arm. Cold starts aka powering a gps in a new location can take a few min before acquiring sats. So what I do is plug in a pack, scoot around myself to make sure the kwad is alright and gain some sats. Then I come back to myself, land, disarm, (switch packs if need be) then arm and take off and you’ll have the home arrow and the rth feature will work. BUT only use the rth switch if you are more than 100m from your home location or it will literally fall out of the sky (ask me how I know). Also once you flip the switch to turn off the rth to gain control again, make sure you have some throttle or it will fall out of the sky (ask me how I know). When it comes to li-ions you can fly them down to like 2.5v per cell, but would play it safe and only go down to 3.0v per cell.
@@brokenpropfpv8917 nominal voltage is 3.6 to 3.7 depending on the cell. However the capacity lies between 3.8 and 3.3 v unlike a lipo where it's at 4.2 to 3.8. That's also why higher cells in series works better with lion cells
Actually you can technically fly LiIon down to 2.5v per cell, also you can change the RTH minimum distance down to 50m, and set the RTH sanity checks to failsafe only to be able to hit the switch when ever you want. Edit: Pants lookin fly bro
Hubby and I built a plane kinda based on a skyhunter but with a ultra efficient airfoil and a desolved foam core fiberglass wing and tail surfaces and carbon monocoque fuse. Flying Dragonlink 915 and 1.2 FPV and a full eagle tree system setup. It was a fairly large plane at 2650mm wing. It was powered by one large out runner and a folding carbon 14in prop. We ran 5S 6P Panasonic 18650s. Just a big brick of cells lol but the flight times was astounding. Over the ocean here in the keys we flew out and back over 100 miles on multiple occasions so 200 miles covered. The plane would cruise around 60mph ground speed. I'll tell you 5 hour round trip flights are exciting on paper but when you are in the air and just looking at water it gets boring quick until you loose video 50 miles out and you sit and wait for 2 hours waiting on it to come home lol.. Yes that happened on one flight, we lost telemetry and video because the antenna tracker failed and was was 62 miles out... We wait about 1 hour all thr sudden got a flicker of video and was like omg she's still flying coming back to us lol. About ten mins later video was back fully at around and we flew her in and landed. We really loved the model and so we retired her after that flight, well I mean we retired the extremely long distance flights after that and started using it for just exploring out to around 10miles or so where we was not as likely to lose it. Model has about 500 hours or more on it and never crashed, we still fly it here and there to this day. We need to build some new 18650 packs and see what it's capable of with the new and much better 18650s... This was around 5 to 6 years ago when we was doing these really long flights and I'm sure the cells of today are MUCH better then the cells of 5 to 6 years ago. I will say the cells hold up for a LONG time... Those cells we flew back then we still fly it with but you can tell they don't have a lot left in them current wise as they have a hard time putting out over 15 amps for just a few seconds without a lot of voltage sag during take off but do great at 7 to 8 amps once in the air. I'm going to build a new pack with new cells and see what she can do with a fresh pack. I mean I know the cells are a lot better then they used to be because we have built a bunch of 18650 4s packs for our race quads and they preform OK for that so long as you aren't trying to rip and you can get some really good flight times if you watch what you are doing. I bought two of the 4in flywoo quads and can't wait to see how fun a small little quiet 4in 20 to 25min capable quad that's still some what acro capable will be. We have been in to long range since the start of it, one thing I can say acro and LR doesn't normally work together but this is a truly viable option that will give solid crusie speeds, some acro capabilities and plenty of air time per pack.
From this video I learned that I don’t say “fuck” nearly enough. Also, this is still my favorite fucking fpv channel and place to escape this crazy fucking world. Thanks man.
I get so bored so quickly just cruising, I think I'd rather just go for a bush walk in person lol. I need to be flying on that ragged edge to be having fun haha. Same damn problem I had with motorbikes, I just couldn't enjoy a nice easy cruise
@1:35 you can charge on a LiPo setting but do not charge at more than 1C. Samsung calls for .5c charge rate and Sony calls for 1c. So 3amp charge rate for your LithiumIon 3s packs. Also your LiPo charge setting is likely to set your storage voltage at 3.8v instead of 3.6 volts(LiIon storage voltage). As others have said, 3.0 is about as low to go. I will goto 2.8v in the air if I need a little more time to find a spot to land.
@@BOTGRINDER the LithiumIon game is so different. So cool to see stuff finally coming for us to buy versus having to build it. Just for some info for VTC6 cells I view them as a 15 amp continuous packs. If you look up the specs out there they list 30 amps as a max continuous current. Too many people have seemed to call that as the current rating for the cells. But I have seen the cells come down pretty hot if you go above 15 amps. I have bought the RCToolKit current meter and calibrated my ESC/FC through BetaFlight. I went to the motors tab with props on and spun it up while watching to see what throttle % I reached 15 amps on the current meter. Then I played with my betaflight settings til my current meter showed the same current for same throttle. I ONLY do that with these little 3-4in quads where I am strong enough to grip them and only going to like 40% throttle max. But having calibrated a bunch of my FC I now feel much better flying my 18650s knowing I am not exceeding the pack's current limits.

I have one. It's only a 450mw vtx that comes on the analog version. I put a tbs evo on it, 800mw is way better, especially if you are going out over a mile.
One tip for sat's if you don't want to waste battery and heat up your vtx when waiting is plug a usb back up charger into the FC it will power the gps. Plug it a few minutes before you fly then you'll be good to go when you go to fly.
I wouldn't go much past 12v in a cruise and maybe 10v on a full punch the 2.5v cut off everyone mentions if you look at datasheets for the cells it's only supposed to go that low if you're pulling really low amps. In my experience once they get to 3v a cell they drop voltage super fast and it's likely shortening the life and capacity of the cell dramatically.

Excellent vid. I just picjed up the iFlight Chimera 4" and 7". Can't wait to get them flying. Skinny jeans look great. That's what happens when you turn 40. I usually take my LiPos to 3.5v/cell, which isn't bad for them. 3.7v is their nominal (average) voltage, which is the mid-point from 4.2v to dead. You can take these LiIons down a bit more without issue, but I personally wouldn't go below 3.0v/cell. Bardwell said the other day you can take them down to 2.5v. WTF? Also, since you are using crossfire, you should stop using RSSI. It is not as accurate as LQ. Turn on LQ in the OSD for accurate information on signal strength.
Guys don't let them rip you off. Those so goooood 3500mah 3s and 4s packs are just 4 dollar cells you can buy for that money. Build those packs your self! LG mrj1 for 10amp packs or vtc5a for 35amp packs. Don't go for vtc6 they claim to be 30amps but they can't do it they are more of a 20amp cell and will die fast
so no joke. you literally solidified my choice to stay with analogue, now i need ORCA's....but i can't fucking afford them... fuck me running...anyway.. cool video. now i want that shit too. thanks bot for making me want to spend more money and go broke further..i hope you win the lotto and just get to chill forever...

Turn on LQ in the OSD for accurate information on signal strength.
im 43, i wear slims, but not to the point where my balls can't breathe. but you're about to be 41. we gotta pick up a bit with the wardrobe lol
Its not like lipo... You can get down to 3.0
correct
depending on the manufacturer you can go as low as 2.9 VDC a cell.
Another fuckin' good one Brother. Love.
Why 14.8?
I didn't know you could run them lower
so no joke. you literally solidified my choice to stay with analogue, now i need ORCA's....but i can't fucking afford them... fuck me running...anyway.. cool video. now i want that shit too. thanks bot for making me want to spend more money and go broke further..i hope you win the lotto and just get to chill forever...
The skinny jeans work bruh
If someone judges you for the pants you wearin', just go tell them this ain't no catwalk and why you starin at my junk for?
I liked the background Bot. Then again im fucking stoned af lol
also btw you look good in the skinny jeans LMAO
as always bot great vid funny as fuck have a great day bro see you on the live stream
They're not having one of those little, like cemetery, somebody died fucking things.
Eh...I think "funeral" is the concept you were trying to bring to mind.
I flew my flywoo explorer for 18 minutes and well it was quite boring after 10 min, you can fly your 4s 13.6 so you would have gotten like 20+ minutes
On LiOns bats U can go safely as low as 12.5V hence u had only 10ish min fly time hehe
"Also if you make them send me some and I'll say there good".
I dig the mic
It may stick around for a few videos
Your 👖 jeans look fk cool 😎 bro!! Thanks for your review.. I’m thinking to get that drone
Skinny jeans look great bro!
