I like how the short entries in the game with Eggman talking about his past briefly adds so much context. Ivo admired his grandfather but everyone including him loved and doted on Maria which made him feel jealous for the cousin he never got to meet. He wanted to be just like his Grandfather and dedicated his life to science and also wanted attention he felt owed to him.
I often wonder if GUN's assault on Gerald and the Ark had anything to do with Eggman turning into the world conqueror we know him as. Would LOVE some info on that
