Just made one for my moms dog, and used the remaining fabric to make a collar cover for my own dog. First time sewer here, thank you soooo much for this tutorial! It was such a delight!
I just wanna say, I hope you hit every green light, I hope you buy a winning lottery ticket and Achieve all your dreams just for posting the square sizes 👏🏼🙌🏼
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! The measurements were perfect and it was super easy! This was my first official sewing project on a sewing machine and I feel so accomplished!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for such an easy to follow tutorial!! You made it super easy for me! Will be making a bunch of these for our new grandpuppy!!
Thank you for this.... perfect and very clear. Only issue I had was having my fabric the wrong way round........had to unpick a bit, but I have now successfully achieved two for my friends new puppy.
Hay can you do a different material as its hard ti see if ur using one or two pices and dont know if ones facung down and the other up orr if both pices are laying face down on the table easy to fallow but i have a complex design and so its harder
Newbie sewer: I followed most with ease except for I couldn't tell what side fabric was "wrong side" until I was deep into the video/project and realized I sewed the corners down on to the good side. It wouldn't be a normal sewing day for me if I didn't have to rip out seams :) It would help if you would have used a fabric that showed the obvious "wrong" side but lesson learned on my part. Back to the drawing board :) Thanks!
Hi! Great tutorial, thank you!...Question: I have been making this for my dog and it looks great on her for a few hours after being ironed but after a while the top bunches up and the banana is gathered in one spot around her neck. Does yours do this? Is there a way to prevent this? Is it maybe the fabric? Thanks!
Hey, I‘m a sewer newbie (wanna-be)..want to start making bandanas for my little doggy. I wonder what sewing machine I should get. Doesn‘t need to be an overkill, but would like to have a proper one. Maybe be able to also make a bit more than bandanas, too. What would be your recommendation? Thanks a lot in advance! :)
Thank you so much for posting this video!!! I am looking into making my dog a bandanna and wanted to know if you have ever used the petal signature cotton from spoonflower ? I wasn't sure if it was a good cotton for making dog bandannas
Crystal Adolphe you probably did the ‘ugly’ side facing each other not backwards. You need to lay out your fabric facing the good sides towards each other and the bad side on the outside. So when you turn it you saw the bad side not the good side. Try it again but then the other way!
Thanks for the no nonsense tutorial. Do you mean to have four thicknesses of material in the finished garment. I want to make it with fine wool tartan. Maybe a comment on the video would help. Voice over. Difficult to read sub titles on the patterned background at speed. I made a cotton one with half material as trial Sib
it depends on how large the collar is. If your dog's collar is 1 inch...you want the fold to be at least 3 inches. If your dog's collar is 2 inches, you want the fold to be at least 5 inches. Double the width of your dogs collar then add 1 inch
Great tutorial but I found the music very distracting and had to rewind a good bit to read the instructions. They went by so fast. But love the bandana, thanks for sharing!
How do you work out how big a square you need? I can see you've put 3 measurements in the description box, but is there a generalized rule that can be measured down or up? For example, the length of the square needs to be twice the circumference of the dog's neck for example. Thanks!
I don’t know if you received an answer to your question. 12x12 will fit on bigger dogs, such as German shepherd, pit bulls, golden retrievers. They all average around the same neck size. The 2 other measure would be a medium size neck for a French bulldog. The smaller one is for toy small dogs. I’ve made all 3 sizes with this tutorial and these measurements are right on. Hope this helps.
I made a bandanna, and decided to embroider it... I embroidered over the collar slip on accident, so I ended up not being able to put the collar through... One more try...
The speeded-up video and jump cuts on these tutorials often give a false sense of security. Also those posters who feel compelled to tell us, "I made 8 of these in two and a half minutes. Now I sell them online for $20 a pop" ( I don't believe 'em) Bitter... moi? Well, yes,...maybe.
Michelle M you can cut 2 triangles out of two different patterns and sew them together along the long side to make a square then follow the rest of the tutorial

I’m so glad you were able to make the bandana!

This was the BEST and EASIEST tutorial for dog collars that i have seen!! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!
This was the best tutorial for a beginner sewer. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! The measurements were perfect and it was super easy! This was my first official sewing project on a sewing machine and I feel so accomplished!
Just made five of these, great tutorial, many thanks!

wow easy to follow, quick tutorial with great finish - thanks
Really good and easy tutorial to follow
I agree. It is easy to follow I just wish she talked to explain instead of words on the screen but that is just my preference
I like how you say to iron first then cut, it makes it so much easier, thanks.
Love this tutorial. Measurements are perfect 👍
Thank you for the cute tute, and really love your furbaby model! The collar turned out beautifully!
I love this so much! I am so making it for my dog! So cute!
Yup , me tooo !

This is a sweet collar! And it looks so easy! Will be making for 2 small dogs for Christmas! Thank u! And maybe 2 big dogs!
I made one following along with your video and it turned out fantastic. Tha k you for the tutorial
Love the tutorial!! Advice on measurements for necks smaller then 11 inches?
It is in the description of the video... for a 11 inch neck it would be 7x7 inches
@@TJ-dc5is the question was for necks smaller than 11"
What size is the neck? I sew regularly and may be able to help :)
@natashadye4327 how about for a neck size of 6in ?
All my dogs have scarfs too.. its the cutest thing
it was great we made 50 dog bandanas thank you so much
your puppy is so cute!
nice video. Can't wait to try one
🐕🐕🐕 Very nice 😊😊😊
thank you to teach me ...hi from Lima . Peru
This tutorial is wonderful! I messed up the first time, but it was an easy mistake to fix with a seam ripper. Thank you so much for posting this. 💞

kitty b this is done wrong sides out until the end where it’s flipped right side out and pressed and sewn together along the collar line.
Do you have the right sides together before sewing?
If I make these for gifts, do they fit on a collar the dog owner already has?
I would make them at least 1 inch to ensure they fit
Great tutorial! My friend dog has a 30” neck! He is a St. Bernard type cross. What size would I do? Thank you!
thats a big neck!! you can try doing a 12 x 12 and see if that works!
My dogs neck is a 22" and I just made her a 14" square . It's perfect.
If you made a 18" square it would probably be a good size.
amazing! made it so much easier to learn!

Super easy thank you so much!
Great video tutorial! Thanks!
do you have any more sizes
Hermoso ! Me encanta la tijera q usas
My Dog is a Labrador and his neck size is 21 inches, What size material would you recommend me to use for him?
Are the pieces right side together?
jennifer robinson There is 2 fabrics on top of each... that’s for a thicker bandana but you can use 1 piece of fabric if you want it to be thiner
Are those measurements above accurate?
Question what size allowance for the collar on the smaller neck sizes?
hey great video im going to make some bandanas for my 3 dogs thx :)
i tried to make this but it keeps on bunching into the center what do i do
I can’t tell because of the type of fabric, but are the correct sides facing each other?
Yes!
My Golden Retrievers necks are about 20". Will the largest size be OK?
Yes! It’ll work
Thank you i like it so much 😍😍😘😘
Thank you ! I want to make a small one for my cavoodle I don’t know what measurements to use ahaha
Hi why don't you measure your dog's collar. Try a medium size or 45 x 45cm.
Where can I find the measurements?
Nobody:
Me: wow that is a WIDE ruler!!!!

that sounds like it may be the kind of fabric that is being used. I found that using heavy cotton works best

Sorry for the late reply - I use the Brother machine. It is one of the more affordable ones on the market
Love this !
Thank you so much for posting this video!!! I am looking into making my dog a bandanna and wanted to know if you have ever used the petal signature cotton from spoonflower ? I wasn't sure if it was a good cotton for making dog bandannas
I haven't used it yet but it is worth a try! most of the fabric can work well with making bandanas
Is there another guide somewhere for neck sizes? My dog's neck is 24".
15 x 15 would probably work best.
hi love your video i made 2 for my girl dog i have a boy dog going to make him one lovely bandana for a dog and not hard to do at all thank you
Beautiful job!! New subscriber here,,,,thank you for this great tutorial.
I used two different prints of fabric and when I turned it right side out, all my fabric was the wrong side! What did I do wrong?!
Crystal Adolphe you probably did the ‘ugly’ side facing each other not backwards. You need to lay out your fabric facing the good sides towards each other and the bad side on the outside. So when you turn it you saw the bad side not the good side. Try it again but then the other way!

I made a cotton one with half material as trial

Hi maybe a silly question but what do you call that board with the measurements on and where is it from? Great instructions though!
Score board ☺️
It's a rotary cutting mat
"Rotary Cutter Mat" or "Self Healing Sewing Mat"
Love this have subscribed x
Hello, beginner here! Can someone tell me what the starch spray does? Thank you! Can’t wait to start making bandanas for my little pup!
It just stiffens the fabric a little. You certainly don't have to use it. It helps cotton resist wrinkling.
How could this be made into a reversible bandana?
Darlene Frederick it could be made a reversible bandana if you use two different fabrics and follow the same steps just have two pieces together
are the fabrics good sides together? i did both sides together and somehow ended up with the bad side being outside no matter what way i flipped it
the fabrics are wrong sides together!
What size should I use for a 21" neck?
Niiiicee😍😍
Thank you!! What is the starch spray for?
the starch spray helps to flatten out the fabric so its easier to sew.
LOVE this -- great job! Thanks.
Amei!!! 😘
What size do you suggest for a dog with a neck measurement of 21.5 in?
14 x 14 or 15 x 15 would probably work best.
Did you use 2 pieces of material?, I swear I saw 2 squares you folded
Why is my pattern inside out?? Help??
how many inches are the folds for the 7x7 and 8x8 squares?
it depends on how large the collar is. If your dog's collar is 1 inch...you want the fold to be at least 3 inches. If your dog's collar is 2 inches, you want the fold to be at least 5 inches. Double the width of your dogs collar then add 1 inch
Cant wait to make my dog a crip
Excelente 🤗🤗🤗🤗😍😍😍😍
What tool?
Love the video. Thanks so very much!!!
Why two pieces? I am going to make a dog scarf for my granddaughters dog for senior pics!!
very good!
Great tutorial but I found the music very distracting and had to rewind a good bit to read the instructions. They went by so fast. But love the bandana, thanks for sharing!
Prettyyyyy

I've balls mine up completely

Cute
If I have 3/4” collars how long should the folded corners be?
I would go for about 3 inches across for the folded corners
Para hacer un pañuelo tanra istoria . Repiten mucho lo mismo
Love this idea.safe too
Are you using 2 pieces of fabric? It's so confusing because it looks like there are 3 pieces of cloth when you go through them after cutting.
Rebecca Page yes... it’s only 2 pieces for a thicker bandana you can use 1 piece for a thiner Bandana up to you

Well, shoot, I was hoping I could make this with two different fabrics, but it doesn't turn out that way.
Michelle M you can cut 2 triangles out of two different patterns and sew them together along the long side to make a square then follow the rest of the tutorial
"easy" proceeds to use starch and an iron and a sewing machine lol
An important aspect to gaining subscribers is not ignoring viewers' questions, even if you don't have an answer. It's a huge turnoff.
Please, if you have to go back and forth with the rotary cutter, then change your blade. It's dull, and dangerous.
