Nice case study. Thanks for that. I still think more strength can be beneficial for speed. One potential explanation in my opinion could be age: they were quite young. Second explanation: Fatigue and delayed transfer effects. 2 strength sessions a week can produce a lot of fatigue which can last up to 2-4 weeks. It could be the case, that because of the fatigue, the speed numbers didn't go up immediately. Greetings from Vienna.

On a different note, I am an adolescent aspiring athlete and was wondering whether you would happen to know of any similar case studies (that seek to determine sufficient strength level) that work with pubertal males so that it is more applicable to my case?

A new paper just came out this past month and they found about 1.8 x BW back squat seems to be the appropriate level of strength for speed up to 30m. I have been using 1.7-1.8 x bw back squat with my male team sport athletes. Once an athlete gets to that point the program should shift to a power based program.
