I have now been notified that rise and radiator racers WILL BE INCLUDED 💚💙
🎉 maybe they saw your video and thought twice lol! 🎉
Okay, maybe a little better but not 400 better lol
When I stayed at a deluxe at universal we got the pass free. BUT, we could ride each ride as much as we wanted!
So now it makes it worth it for me, but only as a single person. If I had to take my whole family, forget about it.
I didn’t hear you mention this so excuse me if you did….that cost of $400 is still on top of the daily or multi day ticket entry fees?
When Walt created Disneyland, he wanted a place where anyone could come and enjoy the magic. The corporate managers have now made it almost impossible for working class families to go. Most families save for years just to afford this experience. With the rising cost of admission tickets, some families can barely afford entrance and rarely purchase LL. With this LLPP, it basically allows only the wealthy attendants to have a more magical experience. I think everyone would be better off if Disney just reverted back to the old fast pass system. Under the old FP system, everyone was treated equally and still had a magical experience. The more Disney tries to fill their coffers, the worse it affects the dreams of people to go experience the magic.
I have been saying for 4 years now! The magic is simply gone!!!! So depressing!!!!!!!
I'm going to rant!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Disney expressed a deep belief in diversity, equity and inclusion? These prices are excluding people of low to median financial means, this is not equity or inclusion. When the not so fortunate can't afford LLPP, etc., that is called exclusion. Not to mention how this affects diversity. Can we say "Private Club Members Only?"
the reason it has changed from Walt's original idea for young children is that starting in the 1970's WDW realized young people (two wage earners) would come and they raised the prices. Of course all about $$$$
Absolutely! I loved the equal opportunity we had with the original FP system.
Not just a barrier to working class families, but a barrier to anyone simply wanting to enjoy a leisurely, spontaneous visit to a theme park.
Each ride only one time is insane at that price point.
This is so unfair
Other people that don’t have it will not be allowed to ride the rides
Walt built the park for families
This is a greedy move
Does Disney want to alienate people even more
It sure seems unreasonable to a lot of folks that’s for sure!👎
It’s the same thing with the regular lightning lane.
Not when there are alot of rides included
Remember the few glorious months after the parks reopened when there was no skip the line program and the stand by queue moved super quick? I miss those days.
It should go back to this. Make the park more magical for everyone, and everyone can put down their phones.
My friends and I went during this time and we still talk about how great it was.
We’ve been going yearly since 2021 and that trip was our favorite trip.
I never thought the day would come where I would be turned off by Disneyland. It just happened with this announcement.i miss the days where going to the park wasn’t complicated and you didn’t have to learn about different park programs.
I 100% agree.
I miss waking up to the attraction you want to ride and waiting your turn just like everyone else. Simple and equal.
I miss gas that cost $1 per gallon. I'm not being funny, I really do, but it's never coming back.
I was just saying to myself it's just a theme park, just go and do what you feel like doing. It doesn't have to be this complicated. People should not dread waiting in line so much. Talking with friends, family, strangers while waiting isn't something to buy your way out of! You can take food in your backpack and eat in line too! I've see people playing the Heads Up game with friends in line as well as trivia.
Someone should start a business and farm themselves out as a Disneyland Doula or Sherpa. I don’t want to spend all my energy trying to navigate the app and all the ways to get a discount or something. It’s too complicated.
@@RaeAnn_1202 yeah it was fair and simple and somehow still efficient. I feel like you have to go to the park with an itinerary.
Family of 4, all over 4 years of age, heading to DL and DCA day after Thanksgiving, Friday, one day only. The total cost for entrance would be $1,124.00. Let's get the Multi-Pass Premium because we only have one day to see both parks, $1,600 additional. $2,724.00 just walking through the gates!! No food, No Merch included! I'd rather take my kids on a 7 day cruise or a trip to Hawaii if I'm spending this much on a SINGLE day event. You could go to Yosemite and get a nice cabin and see the real deal than seeing the fake one at DCA, and it would still cost less!!
You forgot $35 for the parking.
Wow, that's crazy for 1 day
Not worth it.
4 air tix to Hawaii is less. All day fun at a beautiful beach - free
I agree with you! 💯 That’s also a car down payment.
Plus you have to cost in a Premier Hotel cost on top of that, as it’s only available to buy for Premier Hotel guests
I think Disney has already priced out a lot of people and families before all these changes.
Their app is inflating wait times to entice people to buy these passes. I think it was WDW Pro here on TH-cam who did a video comparing the app times and the actual times waited in the queue. It's dishonest and really turns people off Disney. Crowd levels are down year on year. People are taking their hard earned money elsewhere.
Disney is getting better and better about keeping people out with these expensive options. Ridiculous
People continue to pack the parks regardless. That's on the people
I miss Eisner so much right now lol…..
Explain how adding something that you aren't required to purchase is keeping people out?
So few people are actually gonna buy this, its totally optional and I seriously doubt it's gonna have that much of an impact. You don't see people complaining about the VIP plaid tours being a thing. You're just being a disney hater
@@slowazzd2165No one hates Disney like Disney fans
Universal Parks are going to have a HUGE 2025.
you think the Express for Universal is going to be any cheaper?
They likely won't have Express available at the beginning.
If only they had decent franchises.
@@RaschVegas Yeah Disney's portfolio is a bit washed nowadays.
@@kylek1476 exactly! 👍
After hearing this I would like to book a trip to Universal
😂
Wait until you see what Universal charges for their express passes. lol lol
You get Express Pass for free when staying at Universal’s top hotels. Meanwhile if you stay at Disney’s top hotels you only get the right to purchase it. Big difference
@@artapples8417 Now talk about why if you want to go to Epic Universe on Day 1 - you need to pay $520. That is outrageous. They're only selling 3-day tickets, forcing you to use the other 2 days at the other Universal parks. If anyone, like me, just wants to go to JUST the new park, they can't. At Disney, you're allowed to go just 1 day.
@@brooksfire9580 The Express Pass may be a bit expensive but it is so worth it. You can use it on any ride in the park whenever you want. You don’t have to wait to go on a ride at a certain time, you don’t have to pay extra for certain rides, it is way better.
As the Grinch says, "Hate, hate, hate, hate, hate...loath entirely."
Further separation of the haves and have nots...that's part of what I'm trying to escape in my real life.
I love watching the class system in place for us all to see …
It's that way EVERYWHERE you go. When you go out to eat, do you eat at Chick-fil-A or a Longhorn Steakhouse or a 5-star Michelin restaurant? The rich aren't going to Chick-fil-A or Longhorn. When you get a hotel do you get Club and Concierge access with your penthouse suite or just a room? Everywhere you go there are options for the rich.
@@brooksfire9580Totally agree, you think people would boycott, but no they just keep paying. Do they enjoy their trip, usually not. Will they don't again, definitely.
You don't need lightning lane at Disneyland. Trust me. We just went in August and went on ALL of the rides we were hoping to get on (excluding those that were closed, of course). Do single rider at Radiator springs and you're golden.
As someone who recently stayed at the Disneyland resort for 5 days, they really don’t offer any additional perks for being a guest at the resort. It would be a great asset if they included the pass to be used for every ride in Disneyland. The 30 minutes is only for select lands and it really only grants you 2-3 rides. Especially when you have small children. I think they need to get on board with Universal
after 25 years of having the park pass, except the covid years, after 50+ years of going to Disneyland with my family, it's over. Sad.
I agree. We’ve gone as a family for the last 36 years but it is way too expensive anymore.
We have to realize that Disney doesn’t care. They will continue to luxuriate their experiences, so that the rich can have their playground and enjoy. Disney will get paid handsomely from those who have wealth. They also get to keep out what they consider riff-raff. It’s a win-win for Disney and the wealthy. The widening between the haves and have nots will increase. It’s all a big club, and we’re not in it.
So what???
@@johnjosephnigro who is talking to you troll
I'm not traveling to Florida in 2025 but I am in 2026 and it will easily be an Epic Universe focused trip.
Charging these prices for parks that won't be 100% with all the closures going on for the construction and ride changes is insane. I was already going to stay away until that was done but this just made that choice easier to swallow. We are in Orlando every year for work so we typically piggyback a WDW trip on to take advantage of the room and mileage reimbursement. Even with that this just priced us out.
Love the class segregation of skip the line services going on Disney, amazing work.
😆😅🥲
I think having this option really works for people coming from far away to come to our parks… Imagine paying so much money to fly from Australia and then not even being able to get on all the rides. This makes it possible.👍🏻
S
@@TaniaEstesyes, but for us Aussies the cost of everything is multiplied by 1.5 due to the exchange rate so we tend to travel in a very different way to US citizens- typically we spend a minimum of 5 days at Disneyland resort (our last trip we did 10 days) and only go once every 2-10 years depending on the family. On our Australian Disney page no one was interested in this new pass, it adds way too much onto the trip. Most will stick with rope drop tactics or the $32 multi-pass.
@@alyssarice4687 The poorer you are the longer you gotta wait!
Theyre making it easy to choose Epic Universe over Disney
Very good point. Surprising that Disney appears to be trying to piss off guests with Epic Universe being right about the corner. Universal has to be loving what Disney is doing….
If only it wasn't boring as all get out.
@Nuggtendo You do know you can only go to EPIC Universe 1 Day with a 3 Day ticket right? If you want to go 2 days, you'll have to pay for 6.
@@IslandLooter boring? Its not even open yet
@@bowlzie88 it will probably be cheaper than a one day ticket and premium lighting lane
Daughter and husband went to Tokyo Disney last year. They paid what amounted to five dollars each to avoid the lines and were very happy! I'm afraid I've had my last FL Disney trip. Went just about every year since 1977 and enjoy the memories of a less expensive, less crowded, more enjoyable experience. So much nicer not to have to plan everything way in advance and use your phone all day.
Shhh...don't tell everyone how much better Tokyo Disney is than Florida. Definitely don't let them know that the parks are superior and it ends up costing less because hotel and ticket prices are far less expensive. Its a secret!!
I miss when you got a complimentary lightning lane pass. Now the park is too expensive and too complicated. Last time we visited we learned you need your phone for everything including food orders.
This is getting out of hand!
Getting? LOL
💯 agreed
It GOT out of control in the mid 2010's. What are you talking about ? lol
You mean it’s getting MORE out of hand?
I'm a patient person, I'll wait in line thank you very much. Disney is getting so ridiculous with their pricing. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Disney is becoming so expensive, most families can not afford a trip to Disneyland etc.
I remember when it cost $25 to enter with a California driver license with certain zip codes. Moon burger cost $5 with coke and fries!
Here is the thing. Right now at WDW, if you have a hotel reservations, you can book 3 (1 tier 1 and 2 tier 2) rides 7 days prior to your reservation for the length of your stay up to 14 days for about $30 pp. If you can only book this premier pass 2 days before your park reservation and it sells out, you missed the opportunity to pre-book 3 rides! Crazy!
We are Disneyworld annual pass holders and have been going for over 30 years. We ha e made the difficult decision to cancel our passes and stop going to Disney. They are just interested in revenue and forgot about the guest experience. We simply just have been priced out of a Disney vacation.
Agree. At one time, it was so magical. Now, it’s just too crowded to have any fun. And way too expensive.
@@Ms.OliversLife And you have to have your nose to a phone all the time.
I have seen people saying this for a few years. I didn’t understand or agree … until now.
I have loved taking my granddaughters more than anything. However, it is just not the same.
I miss the days of walking up to the attraction and waiting your turn. Everyone was equal and it was simple.
Too many passes and express lane plus rules. I can't keep up.
Good thing you don't need to buy any of them
Much too complicated. I miss the days of no phone needed, no planning, no extra fees. Just walk up to a ride and wait your turn.
Everyone was equal.
@@slowazzd2165but then you still pay a lot to get in and more time in your day is spent in line waiting for those who can afford to pay to cut in front.
@@slowazzd2165 I definitely see your point but I think that you kind of do. I would always budget the high end of Genie+ and the individual LL for my WDW trips. For a family that has to travel from far away and may only go once or every few years, you need to get the pass to get onto the rides. There is simply not enough time to use every standby line even with the best strategy. I was hoping for a system like this at WDW but I was also hoping that the price point would be more in line with Universal.
I went to Disneyland Paris in April 2024 and got the premiere pass and it cost $160 for both parks. It was awesome. Included all the rides that had lighting lane. Made the day super relaxing. $300-$400 for Disneyland Anaheim is kinda wild tho. The fact they ain’t throwing in cars and rise at that price is disheartening.
Edit: I guess you do get cars and rise included. He was wrong about that part.
Yes but 400 for Disneyland is crazy and at a deluxe there it’s free. Not in the USA
I’m not sure why he’s saying Rise and Cars aren’t included, they’re both listed as available attractions on the Disneyland Premier Pass page.
It does include radiator springs and rise of the resistance.
@@MelissaAndAlex yeah I just seen that. Thanks
I loved the simplicity of Universal express pass, Disney is so complicated - you can't even say "lightening lane multi pass". I'm glad they are looking at this, a summer trip with multi-pass was frustrating as I struggled to get on rides I had been planning on.
I said no as soon as I heard that the premium rides are not included. I honestly don't know what's going on with Disney these past years. It's sad to see this happen.
Premium rides are included
Simply it’s Iger. He has destroyed this company.
@@lddcavalry Well as bad as he is, Chapek was worse. He did a lot of damage and the trend is continuing.
@@ohana8535 chapek was barely there to make a huge impact, and iger was still behind the scenes monitoring chapek, Iger is still the main reason why the parks are getting worse, he is the one who is destroying lands, got rid of DAS, and is doubling down on lightning lanes.
They are included, Chris just made a mistake. However, there are only two of those and one offers Single Rider (free!).
For that price, I’m just going to join a VIP tour and make sure it’s max tour size to get most value out of it.
My guess is that they'll increase VIP prices as well. Hopefully they'll also add some additional perks like universal has (meals, more re-rides, etc.)
One correction. It does include single pay lightning queues (radiator springs and rise).
That would make it OK😊 It would be easier than trying to pay attention to an ever evolving plan involving your phone and the genie app.
Came here to say this
Came here to say the same thing!
Walt would not be happy about this, no more disneyland, I'm glad we can watch your great videos!
I'm REALLY glad Amanda chimed in as much as she did to clarify the differences between Paris & DLR/WDW's offerings around the Lightning Lane Premium pass conditions & offerings.
I've decided to play a little game with myself. I'm going to cost out a trip to Disneyland with airfare, hotel, food, three days in the parks with a park hopper ticket and LL multi-pass. (I don't want to encourage Disney by buying the premier version.) And then I'm going to take that budget and build the best short vacation I can to somewhere else and see how I feel about Disneyland vs. the best somewhere-else for the same money. I think it's going to be hard to justify Disneyland.
Go to Paris instead 🗼🍾🐌
Yes. My family of 3 have a trip booked to Disneyland at the start of December. With thunder mountain going down, and now this announcement, we have cancelled. For the price of Pixar hotel, lightening lanes, park hopper passes… we are going on 3 other vacations instead.
Its not bad at all. LL + 3 day pass for two was like $960, hotel at hyatt regency OC right next to disney is $150/night, food around $15 per person/meal in park. I think its a great deal.
Price out going to Disneyland Tokyo! For me, it's cheaper to fly to Tokyo, go to Disneyland and DisneySea, hotels, etc. Considering that I live in California (6 hour drive from Disneyland) and it's cheaper to FLY to Tokyo, it's crazy! Here's the breakdown...
Disneyland 2 day pass, Park Hopper, Lightning Lane, 3 day in DL hotel, parking, food, etc. ($3278 total)
Hotel, park tickets, LL $2400
parking - $78
Driving 6 hours (gas) - $200
Food in park - $400
Souvenirs - $200
Disneyland(Tokyo) 3 day pass, Park Hopper, Lightning Lane, 3 day in DL hotel, parking, food, etc. ($3236)
Hotel, park tickets, LL + vacation package $1556
Flights $1200 (ZipAir - SF/SJ to Tokyo)
Transportation (trains to/from airport, orig and dest) $80
Food in Park - $200
Souvenirs - $200
And the CRAZY part is the Disneyland Tokyo is cleaner, the cast members are awesome, the people (attendees) dress more modestly, the rides hardly ever breakdown, and the experience is just more magical than California experience.
The California experience is just not that great, this is how I felt after a trip 3 weeks ago to Disneyland... the drive sucked, (driving through Los Angeles just sucks period), the cast members don't go out of their way to make anything 'magical', the stuff people wear to the park was just trashy, most of the major rides broke down at least once per day or were under maintenance, you're locked to your phone trying to schedule LL's which end up turning into Multi-passes because of the breakdowns, we never did get to ride Space Mountain or the Matterhorn because of breakdowns and unavailability of LLs, a family of 3 ordering dinner shouldn't pay $70 for burgers/fries/cokes, and sitting in Standy-by line watching the cast member let through 40-50 LL people for every standby group is just frustrating (not the cast member's fault, it's the fault of whoever designed the current LL system).
We had a VIP Plaid tour just this year. There is so much that it allows than just line skipping. Plus you have a very nice person who knows about the park. But, as usual, it is spendy... And its not always the same price. We loved our Plaid tour guide and had so much fun that day. Thanx for the content Mr. Park Pass..
It’s gonna cost more than admission to the park itself
Disney missed the mark with this one. Doesn’t even include cars or rise of the resistance - what a joke
That is how Universal works. Their one time express lane pass to IOA is up to $300 a guest.
@@josephferrara6309 Disney lowering its bar to universal levels , truly sad
@@ze3503 Actually, Disney needs to do it exactly how Universal does it. Give it to a select few onsite guests(probably Club Level guests) and charge a ridiculous amount for other guests. No option for a $30 LL. This will give immediate access to a small amount of guests and make the standby lines shorter for the rest of the guests.
@@josephferrara6309 you get it.
As an out of towner, I will only be going to After Dark events. It's a close price to a regular day at Disney and I don't have to deal with all the lines or people.
Ridiculous! It already costs a family of four over $400 dollars just to get into the park for one day. It breaks my heart that Disney has become so expensive.
This ticks me off so much. After the huge disaster of “revamping” the DAS pass because the LL line was too long, but now they’re filling the LL back up - as long as it’s being paid for.
This option really works well for people coming from far away to visit our parks. Imagine being that family flying all the way from Australia and not even being able to get on all the rides. They are more than happy to pay an extra 400 bucks to get on all the rides, especially if Disneyland is only a one or two day stop on their big United States itinerary
We’re from Australia. After the conversation from aud to usd its works out at $569 extra on top of the ticket price for the day per person at the worst of $400. Disney pricing them selves out for everyone now.
Chris, I have met you in disneyland and DCA a couple times, and I have been an AP for decades, but I did not renew my pass because Disneyland is no longer worth the hastles(having to use your phone to reserve anything, multiple rides broken down every day, huge increases in prices, and having to buy lighting lane to ride anything). A visit to the park is more like work than a vacation.
In 2004, my ex-wife and I had the unlimited annual pass in time for the 50th celebration. It was fun having no blockout dates. It was $329.
That was a fun year during the 50th. I still love the fireworks show "Dreams Come True"

I was so thankful I could take my niece over the summer with the discounted tickets. We can not afford to go back. We will be vacationing else where. My family of 3 started going yearly as a tradition in 2019. That's definitely come to an end.
To me only be worth it if: 1) also includes attractions such as Rise and Radiator. 2) is unlimited number of times (not one per day) 3) included at a much discounted rate ( or free) for staying at a Disney property.
Presently a MK holder and we rarely have purchased Genie/MLL. Have no interest in the Premium LL as it is presently set up.
This is the only way it could be even close to being worth it to me, but I still can’t justify the price for this. I could see $100-$200 for those situations. Especially with multi pass being $32.

The fact that you have to already pay that much for the pass and then you have to pay extra for RCR and ROTR is insane. That's like a slap in the face from Disney, tbh. What makes me frustrated is that they've removed so many non-ride attractions (like shows), that it makes the lines worse. In response to that, they then tell you to pay more to have lower waits because THEY inflated the wait times. Come on, Disney.
Rise and Racers are both listed on the Disneyland Premier Pass page as available attractions, not sure where he got the info that they’re not included.
I love how this pass worked. I got to try it in Paris and it was wonderful. Lines were kept at bay, more time for exploring, and still ride some attractions a few extra times.
But they’re not charging what it costs in American parks
The fact that you’d have to still buy cars and rise of the resistance, and that its screwing over the average family for the rich…. More price gauging, and more leaving middle class families in the dust, for less magic inlcuded… Walt’s rolling in his icy grave.

I thought about the same thing as what you said as your very last thought. It's a psychological technique called anchoring. It's a way to set expectations right at the start of a negotiation in ways that make your actual offer more attractive to the other party.
At these prices, the Walt Disney Company should just turn their US parks into one big club 33 and be done with it!!

Aimed at Disney Adults with no kids, couples with double income and no kids who don't want to wait in line and who only have to pay their own ticket and not tickets for the whole family! And still crazy expensive for most of them.
Holy Cow! Disneyland is becoming a luxury now! We were there Saturday 10/12 and the park was packed! Rides were breaking down left and right! So, now it will cost me $1,200 for 3 passes 😭! Folks will go in debt now just to go to rides.
Sucks to be you
I find this new pass to be an insane buy because typically I am able to get on most rides in a day with the lightning lane multi pass alone and that is still while looking around the parks and even eating in downtown Disney. Yes, I may wait in some lines but usually the ones that aren’t that long of a wait while I am waiting for my ride reservation time to be up…. and come on…. your at a theme park so what do you expect!? zero lines!!? Even with this extremely premium priced pass your still waiting in a line… Also like Amanda said the not being able to skip the lightning lane lines with this pass is just bonkers to me. I’ll stick with the $260-$360 cheaper pass and call it a day. Disneyland is really starting to make me think about continuing my Inspire keys with them because it seems like they just keep wanting more. Big ups to universal studios! And thank you Amanda and Chris for working hard and keeping us up to date you guys are amazing!! ❤️
According to the disneyland website it DOES include the rides that are on the lightning lane single pass.
Yeah I looked it up too and Cars and Rise are both included. Still WAY too much money though.
@@fiebska2 I agree. WAY too much money for that option for someone who goes to the park on a regular basis.
A lot of times I show up to the park at 11am... Space mountain return time is already at 6-7pm or later! This would allow someone to any ride whenever
Universal is looking better and better....
Dont like it then work harder, or just work, so you can go
@@johnjosephnigroor pony up the money for a deluxe resort. With the additional cost of the room, with two people and family members, at $400 savings, each, it pays for the room
We chose Universal this year. We had a lot of fun, and it was a park we had never been to before.
@@johnjosephnigrothat’s not the point ignoramous. I myself can definitely afford that for my family but I probably wouldn’t. That’s a HUGE rip off for what it is.
Before Epic Universe opens, I think you can ride everything you care to ride at Universal Studios Orlando in a day so the express pass makes sense to me. You could easily ride everything you care to ride at Disneyland Resort in a day. Not the case with Disneyworld. I think this adds more motivation to those who go for DVC or annual passes who don't live in Florida to drop out. For the rest of us visiting Disneyworld: try harder to not get your family hooked on the Mouse if possible, as early in life as you can.
I cannot wait for Epic Universe to open. I bet Universal is going to do their best to make the customer experience easy and full of value.
I don't think so! I bet the prices of the Express Lines Pass will go up. They are going to need to pay for these new lands.
FYI: The 2 hour rule is now gone. You can book another multipass ride as soon as you use one multipass ride without having to wait 2 hours now. As for the new Premier Pass, I don't see it being beneficial for passholders or people who go all the time but it might be useful for people who make a once or twice in a lifetime trip to Disney. We are passholders and DVC and go pretty often and we don't really go for the rides so we will stick to the regular mulitpass and single pass option.
Never forget that the original version of Fast Pass was free on purpose to prevent a class division between people waiting in line and the people who get to skip the line because at the time, systems like that didn't exist and people would get upset. Over time it became normalized that people who pay more get instant gratification and now Disney is unfortunately cashing in. The entire Fast Pass should be taken away because regular lines regulate themselves anyway. It was only convenient for those who had either an advantage of knowledge or a monetary advantage while making others wait even longer.
Completely agree!
Guess I'll just stand in the long peasant line. Lol
No ride at Disneyland is worth almost $600 (ticket + expensive pass) per person, per day, let alone getting to go on the ride only once. Disney is so far disconnected from patrons - so sad.
Several years ago, we participated in a pilot program where, if you stayed at a deluxe resort, you could purchase three additional fast passes for $50 per person per day. This was in addition to the three free fast passes that you already had. I thought that was a terrific option for those willing to pay for the deluxe hotels, and I’m surprised that they did not go forward with that. They’ve made so many mistakes since then. Meanwhile, over at Universal they are just sitting back going “yeah, we did this right the first time.“
RSR and Rise are on the LLPP.
At Universal Hollywood, the Express Lane pass is included with the top tier pass
I guess I’m old! I think just the price to get into the parks are too high, but all these additional costs are insane especially with so many attractions either being refurbished or just going down. Maybe not a big deal if you’re local to the parks, and can get there anytime, but if you’re there as your once a year family vacation, that’s a definite drawback!
If this turns into the replacement for Lightning Lane, I am all for it! The higher price is better to keep standby flowing, yet give people the front of line who have this pass. I know people will think this logic is crazy, but if you look up the details on how these things work… this will help standby to not be such a long and stagnant wait. Their current system sucks because so many people have the pass that it’s not helping lines at all.
100% agree.
If there is a pass have it expensive and few in numbers.
But they need to get rid of multi lane pass for that to work
I sacrifice to get our annual passes…. Won’t be buying any Lapp . By the time and cost to fly there, stay on property and eat and hydrate we’re out of spare change for months to come.
I know the feeling. Disney was our last trip before covid and our first trip after the covid lock down. Each time we spent a little over $12k (CDN Dollars). As a family we decided not to do Disney for awhile, instead we are traveling to Hawaii for about 2/3's the cost.
Oh my good golly god. 5:28 I just about jumped out of my skin. Listening on earbuds at work and I thought someone was beside me. 😂
9:54 jumped again ffs 😂
I don’t think it’s exactly like Universal because Disney will still keep the normal lighting lane. They should get rid of the normal lighting lane if they want to add this, otherwise everyone else waits longer.
Exactly! One super expensive pass for limited numbers.
Keeping LL will totally keep messing up Stand by. Makes it an expense day of standing in line waiting for those who can afford LL.
Also at Universal if you stay in their premiere hotels you get unlimited express pass included. I bet you the majority of people with express on any given day are staying in these hotels because buying express alone is wayy too expensive
I am surprised there are so many negative opinions on this. Because for me and my family, it would make things so much better. We love the way universal has their passes. This would mean we can just circle around the park and go one by one instead of constantly checking times and ending up walking back and forth so many times which is so exhausting. This would be a much more enjoyable day for us which is worth the price. And I feel like making an express like pass will limit the people who will want to purchase it meaning it will have less people on the lightning lane. And if there is less people in the lightning lane they let more people through the standby line quicker.
It sounds like the car buying experience; there are some features you really want or don't need, depending on the trim level and the outlay. As a Disneyland pass holder, it’s a little concerning (in my opinion) the perks are getting water-downed. I still love going to the Disneyland, unfortunately it still gets expensive as a family of three.
A couple of years ago our family of 5 adults stayed at a Universal Property and we received their lighting lane pass. It worked out to be cheeper to stay at the property and purchase 5 passes for the day.
The other problem is that the standby line willbe a lot longer for those who can't afford the expense of the LLPP. This is going to force families away.
Exactly. We cannot afford the entrance fees for the privilege of standing in line waiting for those who can afford to cut ahead of us.
@@JadaFinistair the LLPP will be sold in so little quatities that it wont make am impact to standby.
We are coming from Sweden and going old school, no passes for us! Prices have gone up a lot but the plan is to not go crazy buying merch in order to keep costs down. Which will put a damper on the trip but there are only so many thousands we can spend!
SoCal native here and this is ridiculous. I completely get that this is all about choices but who is Disney trying to sell this to? Who is the target market? Keep mentioning benefits....wuuuuut? What benefits? But again I'm a SoCal native so any of the LL BS doesn't effect me as much cos we're not trying to hit EVERY ride. But the economy coast to coast is in shambles and Disney is like "and?...you'll buy it anyway". There is no amount of "magic" that's worth that much at a theme park to convince me on the way to the car to think "totally worth it".
excatly it doesn't benefits anyone but Disney and Disney; hoping there are suckers... I mean ppl out there who will pay for it because they don't know what they're doing.
Just went to Disneyland and DCA last week and got to do Ophir Boogie as well with our family of 4. We had the LL Multipass and it was helpful, but BOY HOWDY do you have to know the game to play! At some point in the day it simply didn’t matter if we hadn’t used a pass for a ride, they simply stopped issuing Lightning Lanes. And that included trying to buy an individual LL to Cars. I’d love to have the premier pass if it means I can go to each of the rides any time of day, especially now that Rise and Cars are included. It would really make the day more pleasurable to not have to be planning things out constantly, even if I still have to wait with the other LL riders.
I’m just not sure I can pony up $1600 to make it happen. That’s more than double the admission to the parks! I usually pay for LL and other extras with side hustle/gig money… at the craptastic rates musicians get paid, I’d have to play 13 or 14 concerts… FOR ONE DAY OF PREMIER.
I guess if that $300-400 price tag included the admission I’d be game, but 2 grand a day for the fam seems unrealistic.
Disneyland is magical, but I miss the way it was when I was a kid… no second class citizens, hang in line with the homies, even my relatively broke family could afford to go.
Total greed by Disney. No considerations for big families and just creating a way for wealthier people to get the best experience. Fast pass was equal opportunity. It is all already too expensive.
Another benefit that I can think off is that some Lightning Lanes run out in the second half of the day and the 2 hour limitations can sometimes prevent you from getting those if you dont plan well. So the Premier Pass in theory will still allow you to ride those rides, even if LL is no longer available. Still, the cost is insane.
You have to have a PHD just to understand all these separate tiers at Disneyland anymore. lol.
I picture a lot a people will just start using Single Rider to skip more lines. When I was at DCA numerous groups went through the Single Rider line for Radiator Springs.
Those initial lines are probably going to be scary
How? The people buying this would have probably bought LL and the ILL passes. This will have very little overall affect on lines.
I did some general figures on the cost and discovered the pay would approximately 20-30+ dollars per ride if you were paying for each one individually. That's a lot of money per ride. Only those who don't worry about budgeting would be tempted.
This is why I have switched to Disney Cruises. While the cruises are more expensive than some other cruises, it still lets me enjoy Disney Magic. It costs me less now to do a cruise than go to the Disney parks and I don't have to deal with the crazy crowds in the parks.
Not as many rides, though.
Your ending thought of tricking us - very clever!
Oh my God! If there are 35 qualifying rides in both Disneyland and DCA, and the cost is $400, that about $12 a ride, definitely not worth it.
I'm going to Disneyland in December and have bought the Lightning Lane (or whatever it's called now) with our tickets. It's all frustrating, but I'll still use the app and book rides with the LL. I love Disneyland and go at least two times a year, so I'm not paying anymore for this new plan. I'll just wait in line, I'm there all day anyway.
Thanks for breaking it down, Chris and Amanda 😊
This is a total boiling the frog business strategy, making us feel like $32 for lightning lane passes are now "a deal".
They know most park visitors are not gonna buy the premiere pass, so they are essentially trying to persuade us to thinking of buying the regular multilane pass is again a "deal" or our best option
Good point making $32 seem like a deal!
@@VincenzoBarkasy-dm4or it was and continues to be a good deal.
Hi Provost! I know you cover more Disney content and I appreciate that. You're not necessarily bringing that bias to the table by stating this is what disney is trying to implement vs universal gives it out for free if you stay at the resort. It's even more complicated to bring this premiere pass to disney because of the multiple options they already have (multipass, inidividual lightning lane, and not to mention VIP tours). Hopefully Disney can still be a fun experience for everyone in the future. If not, there's still Epic Universe to look forward too!
17:13 Oh my god - youre right. This is evil marketing genius
This will be my first year not going to Disneyland in thirty-two years STRAIGHT except for the pandemic period . I also forgot my Disney account information and couldn’t buy a genie plus so I have to make an appointment at the bank to get it fixed. ( I’m old and forgot it.) I’ve been going to Disneyland since 1956. I’m really going to miss Disneyland at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I’ll be watching your TH-cam videos during the holidays. That will be my Disney time. 😅
Nobody really needs Genie+ Lightning Lanes. Just go to the park early when it first opens and go on the most popular that you like first then enjoy a leisurely afternoon. And you can change your account information on the Disney website.
If we all just boycott Disneyland for 1 year, think A Bugs life, we are the Ants!
Nope..,
A VIP tour is on my bucket list. This seems like almost the same, but for smaller groups that can’t get the max value with 10 guests. The price point feels about right if they get rid of the 1x per ride restriction.
This is absolutely ridiculous.. thanks Disney for not caring about us again. ☹️sigh.
I think this will be beneficial to the people that travel across the world because they might not get another chance however I don’t think locals especially key holders will because they can come another time
