I use laminated flooring from Home Depot. You can get a variety of colors and textures for really cheap prices, and they are reusable. But I like the metal you showed. I am going to buy some.

We bought a couple of the 2 sides boards of your designs from Best Ever Backdrops and love them. They paid for themselves with one photoshoot!

All about the texture! Nature backdrop is always better than the paper/vinyl. Love your photo tone.

You inspire me to do food photography, I just hope someday I can become professional as am still learning how to arrange the food content, and would you kindly direct me to any recommendable sites to look at perhaps! And yes please do show how you make your own backdrops as I am in South Africa and it's difficult to get some of these products! Thanks.

If you’re looking for sites There is always weeattogether.com but most of all just look at your favorite food photographers and analyze their images then try to replicate what they are doing but in your own styt

Dark table, white plates, bright lights, and editing in post. Contrast the background with whatever the subject is so it pops and shoot with a good aperture to bring it in focus. The details are your own creative genius.

Very very expensive to go out and buy all that stuff...lol...Plus go out and buy all kinds of great looking props, and then have money to go out and buy and learn to cook prepare and style food on your own, the expenses never stop. Lol. You can't use the same set for all your images - can you?? You need a bunch of stuff. And then go out pay for google ads, facebook ads, Wonderful Machine, Agency access, Production paradise, Thumbtack, Snaprr etc. and hope that someone hires you for more than $50 an hour..lol. What is a common theme in this field but few will readily admit, is that it is very helpful to have a connection or two under your belt in order to get started making real one....be born with one. Know someone. Most in the field did. Family friends, channels, family connections. Ask enough questions and finally the truth always comes out. .My Mom this...my Dad that...! Or of course, teach! As a somewhat related comparison, making your own money in real estate one thing. A lot of work. But selling other people the idea that they can make money in a certain field - a lot easier isn't it! That's the secret.
