    Thanks to those that pointed out that I mixed up Perl 1:1 with undiluted. My mistake. But I’ll own it. The intent was really for DarkSide. I will be getting another video up on the application of DarkSide in a driven car.

    I'm going to stick with Perl. I apply it straight and the aggressively buff off as much as I possibly can with a cheap microfiber. It's a lot of work, but the result is perfect everytime and there is no dry time or sling. My tires look exactly like I want everytime. A slight satin sheen without being greasy in the slightest.

      Yup that dang pump got me lol. It is better with just a regular top anyway.

    Don’t feel bad about the bent tube, mine was the same. I just cut it at the kink and the pump worked like it is supposed to.

    The real test would be between Perl. DarkSide and the other new kid on the block Jescar tire product. I was surprised that PERL 1:1 lasted longer then PERL neat. Nice testing as always MIke.

    @jlb3675 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Been using PERL both neat & 1:1 and very happy with the results. Recently tried McKees Graphene product and my impression is that it is ok but doesn't seem to last any longer than PERL. Was hoping for better from Darkside, not convincing enough for me to switch to it.

    Perl 1:1 my favourite too and 1:5 on interior 👍

    • @_andre007
      @_andre007 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is this like a sealant for the interior as well? Like plastic and leather? Or is it for restoring a look ?

    • @kevinb7058
      @kevinb7058 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@_andre007 yes you can use carpro perl on interior plastics and it will protect them and will restore faded plastic's. I don't use it on leather. I use it diluted 1:5

    Just got mine in the mail and I can’t wait to try it out. Have you noticed a difference in performance depending how long you wait to wipe it off? For example, immediate wipe off, 5 or 10 minutes, and a couple hours?

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No difference. I applied it to my dads car and started on one tire. By the time k went around I wiped off where I started.

    Had same problem with the pump. Straw ended up with a sharp bend inside blocking it so I had to cut it to fit the bottle.

    I haven’t use any of them yet. But from what I can see all about the same. ❤ so to me it sounds like it’s about longevity!

    I know the 2 are mixed up but i think Perl 1:1 is still labelled correctly? How come it smashes both of the non-diluted products? Seems odd..

    Nice demo.
    Is Dark Side water based? It doesn’t specify where I can see, I’m assuming it is not.

      I am not sure if this one is water based. There is nothing stated on the bottle or on the product description that is on the carpro us site other than low VOC.

    Hi Mike!
    Great video.
    Do you have a link to those red dispenser caps you put on the bottle?

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  ปีที่แล้ว

      I ordered these one time when I placed an order on Adams. I usually save the dispenser caps from soap bottles and re-use them.

    hi, I think you put a little too much dark side on the sponge and that's why it didn't dry

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It won’t dry even when less is used. The CarPro rep recommended to let it sit for 5 minutes and come back with a wipe to remove any excess. But yes more is not better.

    Interesting product for sure, but I don't like products I have to finish out on tires. Ruins microfibers like nothing else, even B-grade ones.

    How does this compare in finish to Gyeon Tyre in your opinion. Gyeon tiny bit too shiny for my taste.
    Also have you got one of the brushes like the Carscope one. This this makes spreading easier without the buildup in the groves

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Less shine than Gyeon tire and yes I have two of those carscope brushes. I used one with Perl in the video.

  • @TheLightShiner1
    @TheLightShiner1 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not a fair comparison you should of wiped darkside also when you wiped pearl and pearl 1 to 1, darkside would of won anyway second would be pearl and third would be the diluted pearl.

      @@MikeGDetailing Mike I appreciate this video a lot but doesn't the label mix up make the results section all about Perl neat instead of DarkSide? On the "bright side" the actual DS section on application looked pretty good, just would've been nice to see a bit more of it dried in the sunlight. I'll look forward to a follow-up anyhow :)

  • @urntwrthyZ
    @urntwrthyZ ปีที่แล้ว

    LOL. Cut off the tube just above the kink so you can use the product and contact CarPro the next day for a replacement pump. It's not rocket science.

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly not rocket science therefore easier to replace it with a top which gives better distribution. The pump sucks just like the one that comes with Gyeon Q2 Tire.
